Joel 3
1 For behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
Car voici qu'en ce temps, et en ces jours-là, quand J'aurai fait revenir de la captivité Juda et Jérusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and [for] my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided my land.
J'assemblerai toutes les nations et les conduirai dans la vallée de Josaphat; là Je plaiderai avec elles pour Mon peuple et pour Israël, Mon héritage: car elles l'ont dispersé parmi les Gentils, qui se sont partagé Ma terre.
3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
Et ils ont tiré Mon peuple au sort, et ils ont livré des enfants à la prostitution, et ils ont vendu des jeunes filles pour du vin, et ils ont bu.
4 Yes, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompense? and if ye recompense me, swiftly [and] speedily I will return your recompense upon your own head;
Or, qu'y a-t-il entre vous et Moi, Tyr, Sidon, Galilée des Philistins? Est-ce que vous pourrez user de représailles avec Moi? Ou Me garderez-vous rancune en votre cœur? Je vous rétribuerai, Moi, vite et sévèrement, sur vos têtes:
5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things.
Parce que vous avez pris Mon argent et Mon or; parce que vous avez porté dans vos temples Mes ornements précieux;
6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold to the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
parce que vous avez vendu aux fils des Grecs les fils de Juda et les fils de Jérusalem, pour les chasser de leurs frontières.
7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompense upon your own head:
Mais voilà que Je les ramènerai des contrées où vous les avez conduits, et Je vous rétribuerai sur vos têtes.
8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken [it].
Et Je donnerai vos fils et vos filles aux fils de Juda, pour qu'ils les vendent comme captifs chez une nation lointaine; ainsi a parlé le Seigneur.
9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
Publiez ces choses parmi les Gentils; sanctifiez la guerre; excitez les combattants, vous tous hommes exercés aux armes; rassemblez-vous, et partez.
10 Beat your plow-shares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears: let the weak say, I [am] strong.
Forgez des glaives avec vos socs de charrue, et, avec vos faux, des javelines. Que le faible lui-même dise: Je suis fort.
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together around: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
Venez tous ensemble et entrez, vous nations d'alentour; vous, fils d'Israël, réunissez-vous là: que l'homme pacifique devienne un guerrier.
12 Let the heathen be awakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen on every side.
Que toutes les nations se lèvent; qu'elles se rendent dans la vallée de Josaphat; c'est là que Je siège pour juger les nations d'alentour.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, go down; for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness [is] great.
Envoyez des faucilles, car le vendangeur est prêt; entrez et foulez aux pieds les grappes, car le pressoir est plein; laissez déborder les cuves, car leur méchanceté a comble la mesure.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision; for the day of the LORD [is] near in the valley of decision.
Les échos ont retenti dans la vallée du jugement; car le jour du Seigneur est proche dans la vallée du jugement.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
Le soleil et la terre seront enveloppés de ténèbres, et les étoiles retireront leur lumière.
16 The LORD also will roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake; but the LORD [will be] the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
Le Seigneur jettera de grands cris du haut de Sion; Il fera entendre Sa voix du haut de Jérusalem; le ciel et la terre trembleront; mais le Seigneur épargnera Son peuple, et Il fortifiera les fils d'Israël.
17 So shall ye know that I [am] the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
Et vous connaîtrez que Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu, qui réside en Sion, sur la montagne sainte; et Jérusalem sera sainte, et les étrangers n'y passeront plus.
18 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth from the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
Et il arrivera qu'en ce jour-là les montagnes ruisselleront de douceur, et les collines de lait; et l'eau coulera de toutes les sources de Juda, et une fontaine jaillira de la maison du Seigneur, et elle abreuvera le val de Sétim.
19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence [against] the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
L'Égypte sera mise à néant; l'Idumée sera un champ de désolation, à cause des iniquités de ses fils contre Juda, parce qu'ils ont versé le sang innocent sur leur terre.
20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
Et la Judée sera habitée dans tous les siècles, et Jérusalem dans les générations des générations.
21 For I will cleanse their blood [that] I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
Et Je rechercherai leur sang, et Je n'absoudrai point ceux qui l'ont versé, et le Seigneur aura Son tabernacle en Sion.
