< Joel 2 >
1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for [it is] nigh at hand;
Zion ah tuki te ueng uh lamtah ka hmuencim tlang ah yuhui uh. BOEIPA kah khohnin he a yoei rhep la a pai dongah diklai khosa boeih loh tlai uh saeh.
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, [even] to the years of many generations.
Hmaisuep neh khohmuep hnin, cingmai neh yinnah hnin loh pilnam boeiping neh pilnu kah tlang ah mincang bangla yaal coeng. Te bang te khosuen lamloh ana om noek pawt tih a hnukkah thawnpuei neh cadilcahma tue ah khaw khoep mahpawh.
3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land [is] as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; and nothing shall escape them.
A maelhmai ah hmai loh a hlawp tih a hnukah khaw hmaisai a hlawp. A mikhmuh kah te diklai Eden dum bangla om tih a hnuk tah khosoek khopong la om. Te dongah anih lamkah loeihnah khaw om pawh.
4 The appearance of them [is] as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
A mueimae tah marhang mueimae bangla om tih marhang caem bangla yong uh tangloeng.
5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
Tlang dong sokah leng ol bangla om. Divawt aka hlawp hmaihluei hmai ol bangla sundaep uh. Pilnu pilnam bangla caemtloek rhong a pai.
6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
Amih mikhmuh ah pilnam loh kilkul tih maelhmai boeih muhut la a om pah.
7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
Hlangrhalh bangla yong uh tih caemtloek hlang bangla vongtung dongah luei uh. Te vaengah hlang te amah longpuei ah pongpa uh tih a caehlong te ken uh pawh.
8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and [when] they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
Te vaengah hlang loh a manuca te a nen uh moenih. Hlang he amah longpuei ah ni a pongpa uh. Pumcumnah hnuk ah mueluem mueh la cungku uh.
9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
Khopuei kah vongtung soah khaw cu uh tih yong uh. Im lamkhaw bangbuet lamloh yoeng uh tih hlanghuen bangla kun uh.
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
A mikhmuh ah diklai khaw tlai tih, vaan khaw hinghuen. Khomik neh hla hmuep tih aisi khaw a aa khum.
11 And the LORD will utter his voice before his army: for his camp [is] very great: for [he is] strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD [is] great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
BOEIPA loh A caem mikhmuh ah a ol a huel. A lambong khaw yet muep ngawn, a ol aka vai tah pilnu ngawn, BOEIPA kah khohnin tah len tih rhih om tangkik pai. Te dongah te te aka noeng tah unim?
12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, Turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
Tedae BOEIPA kah olphong om pataeng coeng. Kai taengla na thinko boeih neh, yaehnah nen khaw, rhahnah nen khaw, rhaengsaelung nen khaw ha mael laeh.
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn to the LORD your God: for he [is] gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth of the evil.
Te dongah na thinko mah phen uh lamtah na himbai phen uh boeh. Na Pathen BOEIPA taengla mael uh laeh. Amah tah thinphoei lungvatnah la om. Thintoek a ueh tih sitlohnah a yet dongah boethae khui lamloh ko a hlawt.

15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
Zion ah tuki te ueng uh, yaehnah te ciim uh, pahong te hoe uh.
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth from his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
Pilnam te coi uh, hlangping te ciim uh. Patong rhoek khaw coi lamtah camoe neh rhangsuk dongkah cahni khaw coi uh laeh. Yulokung khaw a imkhui lamloh, vasanu khaw a imkhui lamloh moe laeh saeh.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thy heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: why should they say among the people, Where [is] their God?
Balae tih pilnam taengah, ‘Amih kah Pathen te melae?’ a ti eh,” ti saeh.
