Job 9
1 Then Job answered and said,
೧ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೋಬನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಇಂತೆಂದನು,
2 I know [it to be] so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
೨“ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ಯವೇ ಸರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿರುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?
3 If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
೩ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟರೂ, ಆತನ ಸಾವಿರ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಕ್ಕೂ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಲಾರನು.
4 [He is] wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened [himself] against him, and hath prospered?
೪ದೇವರ ಹೃದಯವು ವಿವೇಕವುಳ್ಳದ್ದು, ಆತನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ಪ್ರಬಲವಾದದ್ದು. ಆತನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಕಠಿಣಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಸಾರ್ಥಕನಾದದ್ದುಂಟೇ?
5 Who removeth the mountains, and they know not: who overturneth them in his anger.
೫ಆತನು ಪರ್ವತಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದಂತೆ ಸರಿಸಿ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಉರುಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
6 Who shaketh the earth out of her place, and its pillars tremble.
೬ಭೂಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಕದಲಿಸಿ ಅದರ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳನ್ನು ನಡುಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
7 Who commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
೭ಹುಟ್ಟಬೇಡವೆಂದು ಆತನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಹುಟ್ಟುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟು ಮುದ್ರೆಹಾಕುತ್ತಾನೆ.
8 Who alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
೮ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲವನ್ನು ವಿಶಾಲಪಡಿಸಿದವನು ಆತನೊಬ್ಬನೇ. ಅಲ್ಲಕಲ್ಲೋಲವಾದ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
9 Who maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.
೯ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಮಂಡಲವನ್ನೂ, ಮೃಗಶಿರವನ್ನೂ, ಕೃತ್ತಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗೃಹಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದವನು ಆತನೇ.
10 Who doeth great things past finding out; yes, and wonders without number.
೧೦ಅಪ್ರಮೇಯ ಮಹಾಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತವಾದ ಅದ್ಭುತಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see [him] not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
೧೧ಆಹಾ, ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಟಿಹೋದರೂ ನಾನು ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾದುಹೋದರೂ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say to him, What doest thou?
೧೨ಇಗೋ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆತನನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳುವವರು ಯಾರು? ‘ನೀನು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿ?’ ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವರಾರು?
13 [If] God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
೧೩ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಸಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೊಲಗಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ರಾಹಾಬನ ಸಹಾಯಕರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರಲ್ಲಾ.
14 How much less shall I answer him, [and] choose out my words [to reason] with him?
೧೪ನಾನಾದರೋ ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಾದಿಸಿ, ಆತನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತೂ ಅಶಕ್ತನು.
15 Whom, though I were righteous, [yet] would I not answer, [but] I would make supplication to my judge.
೧೫ನಾನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವೆನು.
16 If I had called, and he had answered me; [yet] I would not believe that he had hearkened to my voice.
೧೬ನಾನು ಕರೆದಾಗ ಆತನು ನನಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೂ, ನನ್ನ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಲಾಲಿಸುವನೆಂದು ನಂಬುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
17 For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.
೧೭ಆತನು ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಡಿಯುತ್ತಾ, ಸುಮ್ಮಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಒಂದರ ಮೇಲೊಂದು ಗಾಯಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ,
18 He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.
೧೮ಉಸಿರಾಡಗೊಡಿಸದೆ ಕಹಿಯಾದ ಪದಾರ್ಥದಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
19 If [I speak] of strength, lo, [he is] strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time [to plead]?
೧೯ನಾನು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೊರೆಹೋಗುವೆನೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರು, ‘ಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ’ ಎನ್ನುವನು. ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಯು ಆಗಲಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಆತನು ನನಗೆ, ‘ಕಾಲ ನಿಯಾಮಕರು ಯಾರು?’ ಎನ್ನುವನು.
20 If I justify myself, my own mouth will condemn me: [if I say], I [am] perfect, that also will prove me perverse.
೨೦ನಾನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯೆಂದು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸುವುದು. ನಾನು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಆತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಿಯೆಂದು ನಿರೂಪಿಸುವನು.
21 [Though] I [were] perfect, [yet] would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
೨೧ನಾನು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯೇ ಹೌದು; ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೇನೂ ಚಿಂತೆಯಿಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
22 This [is] one [thing], therefore I said [it], he destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
೨೨ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದೇ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ‘ನಾನು, ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯನ್ನೂ, ದೋಷಿಯನ್ನೂ ಆತನು ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
23 If the scourge shall slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.
೨೩ವಿಪತ್ತು ಆಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ತಾಗಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಲು, ನಿರ್ಮಲಚಿತ್ತರು ಮನಗುಂದುವುದನ್ನು ಆತನು ನೋಡಿ ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುವನು.
24 The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of its judges; if not, where, [and] who [is] he?
೨೪ಭೂಲೋಕವು ದುಷ್ಟರ ಕೈ ಸೇರಿದೆ; ಲೋಕದ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಮುಖಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಸುಕು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಆತನಲ್ಲದೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಯಾರು?
25 Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.
೨೫ನನ್ನ ದಿನಗಳು ಓಟಗಾರನಿಗಿಂತ ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಯಾವ ಸುಖವನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣದೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ.
26 They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle [that] hasteth to the prey.
೨೬ಬೆಂಡಿನ ದೋಣಿಗಳು ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗುವಂತೆಯೂ, ಹದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಬೇಟೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಎರಗುವಂತೆಯೂ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಗತಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ.
27 If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort [myself]:
೨೭ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಲಾಪವನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಕಳೆಗುಂದಿದ ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುವೆನೆಂದು ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ,
28 I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
೨೮ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಕಟಗಳಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಭಯವುಂಟಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
29 [If] I am wicked, why then do I labor in vain?
೨೯ನಾನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕಷ್ಟೆ. ನಾನು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಸಪಡುವುದೇಕೆ?
30 If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;
೩೦ನಾನು ಹಿಮದಿಂದ ಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿದರೂ, ಚೌಳಿನಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳಕೊಂಡರೂ,
31 Yet wilt thou plunge me in the ditch, and my own clothes shall abhor me.
೩೧ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಅಸಹ್ಯನಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವಿ.
32 For [he is] not a man, as I [am], [that] I should answer him, [and] we should come together in judgment.
೩೨ಆತನು ನನ್ನಂಥವನಲ್ಲ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನಲ್ಲ, ನಾನು ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಾದಿಸುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ? ನಾವಿಬ್ಬರೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಸನದ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೂಡುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?
33 Neither is there any judge between us, [that] might lay his hand upon us both.
೩೩ನಮ್ಮಿಬ್ಬರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಯಿಡುವವನಾಗಿಯೂ, ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
34 Let him take away his rod from me, and let not his fear terrify me:
೩೪ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎತ್ತಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ದಂಡವನ್ನು ಆತನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಲಿ, ಆತನಿಂದಾಗುವ ದಿಗಿಲು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆದರಿಸದಿರಲಿ.
35 [Then] would I speak, and not fear him; but [it is] not so with me.
೩೫ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾನು ಭಯಪಡದೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವೆನು; ಭಯಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲೇನೂ ಆಸ್ಪದವಿಲ್ಲ.”
