Job 8
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
時にシユヒ人ビルダデ答へて曰く
2 How long wilt thou speak these [things]? and [how long shall] the words of thy mouth [be like] a strong wind?
何時まで汝かかる事を言や 何時まで汝の口の言語を大風のごとくにするや
3 Doth God pervert judgment; or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
神あに審判を曲たまはんや 全能者あに公義を曲たまはんや
4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he hath cast them away for their transgression;
汝の子等かれに罪を獲たるにや之をその愆の手に付したまへり
5 If thou wouldst seek to God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
汝もし神に求め 全能者に祈り
6 If thou [wert] pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
清くかつ正しうしてあらば必ず今汝を顧み汝の義き家を榮えしめたまはん
7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end would greatly increase.
然らば汝の始は微小くあるとも汝の終は甚だ大ならん
8 For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:
請ふ汝過にし代の人に問へ 彼らの父祖の尋究めしところの事を學べ
9 (For we [are but of] yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth [are] a shadow: )
(我らは昨日より有しのみにて何をも知ず 我らが世にある日は影のごとし)
10 Will they not teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
彼等なんぢを敎へ汝を諭し 言をその心より出さざらんや
11 Can the rush grow without mire? can the flag grow without water?
葦あに泥なくして長んや 萩あに水なくしてそだたんや
12 Whilst it [is] yet in its greenness, [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] herb.
是はその靑くして未だ刈ざる時にも他の一切の草よりは早く槁る
13 So [are] the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:
神を忘るる者の道は凡て是のごとく 悖る者の望は空しくなる
14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust [shall be] a spider's web.
その恃む所は絶れ その倚ところは蜘蛛網のごとし
15 He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.
その家に倚かからんとすれば家立ず 之に堅くとりすがるも保たじ
16 He [is] green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.
彼日の前に靑緑を呈はし その枝を園に蔓延らせ
17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, [and] seeth the place of stones.
その根を石堆に盤みて石の屋を眺むれども
18 If he shall destroy him from his place, then [it] shall deny him, [saying], I have not seen thee.
若その處より取のぞかれなばその處これを認めずして我は汝を見たる事なしと言ん
19 Behold, this [is] the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
視よその道の喜樂是のごとし 而してまた他の者地より生いでん
20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect [man], neither will he help the evil doers:
それ神は完全人を棄たまはず また惡き者の手を執りたまはず
21 Till he shall fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
遂に哂笑をもて汝の口に充し歡喜を汝の唇に置たまはん
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to naught.
汝を惡む者は羞恥を着せられ 惡き者の住所は無なるべし
