< Job 8 >
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Shuhi tami Bildad ni a pathung teh,
2 How long wilt thou speak these [things]? and [how long shall] the words of thy mouth [be like] a strong wind?
Nâsittouh maw he e hnonaw heh dei han, na pahni dawk hoi ka tâcawt e lawk hah athakaawme kahlî patetlah ao han.
3 Doth God pervert judgment; or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
Cathut ni kalan hoeh lah lawk a ceng boimaw, nahoeh pawiteh, Athakasaipounge ni, lannae a kamlang takhai boimaw.
4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he hath cast them away for their transgression;
Na capanaw ni ama taranlahoi yon awh pawiteh, kâtapoenae kecu dawk a tâkhawng han.
5 If thou wouldst seek to God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
Cathut hah atangcalah hoi, na tawng teh, Athakasaipounge koevah, kâheinae na sak pawiteh,
6 If thou [wert] pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
Tamikathoung tamikalan lah na awm pawiteh, nang hanelah atu roeroe thaw vaiteh, lanae hmuen koe hawinae na coe sak han.
7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end would greatly increase.
Na kamtawngnae a thoung nakunghai, na poutnae a len katang han.
8 For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:
Bangkongtetpawiteh, pahrennae hoi a yan e hnonaw hah pakhingpalang haw, na mintoenaw ni a hmu e hnonaw hah pouk haw.
9 (For we [are but of] yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth [are] a shadow: )
Bangkongtetpawiteh, paduem e tami la o awh teh, banghai panuek awh hoeh. Bangdawk tetpawiteh, talai van e hnin tha naw teh, tâhlip patetlah doeh ao.
10 Will they not teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
Ahnimae lungthin thung hoi ka tâcawt e lawknaw ni, na dei pouh awh teh, na cangkhai hoeh namaw.
11 Can the rush grow without mire? can the flag grow without water?
Tuinawk laipalah lungpum a roung thai han namaw. Tui laipalah capi teh a roung thai han namaw.
12 Whilst it [is] yet in its greenness, [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] herb.
A hring nah tâtueng hoeh nakunghai, alouke akungnaw hlak palang a kamyai.
13 So [are] the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:
Cathut kapahnimnaw e a lamthung teh, hot patetlah ao. Tami kahawihoehnaw e ngaihawinae teh a kahma han.
14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust [shall be] a spider's web.
A kâuepkhai awh e teh, tâkhawng pouh lah ao han, a kâuepkhainae teh, Bombarui patetlah doeh ao.
15 He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.
A im dawk a kamngawi ei kangdout thai hoeh. Kacakcalah a kuet ei pou cak thai ma hoeh.
16 He [is] green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.
Khobetnae koe dikkahringcala a roung teh, a kangnaw ni takha koung tahloi awh.
17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, [and] seeth the place of stones.
A tangpha ni talung khakdeng teh, talung um vah a tangpha a payang nahane a tawng.
18 If he shall destroy him from his place, then [it] shall deny him, [saying], I have not seen thee.
Amae hmuen koehoi phawk lah ao torei teh, pou kacak mahoeh, telah a kâpahnawt han.
19 Behold, this [is] the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
Khenhaw! het hateh, lunghawinae lamthung lah a o, talai dawk hoi aloukenaw hah a pâw han.
20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect [man], neither will he help the evil doers:
Khenhaw! Cathut ni toun han kaawm hoeh e na tâkhawng hoeh vaiteh, thoe ka sak e teh kangdout sak mahoeh.
21 Till he shall fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
Na kâko teh panuinae hoi akawi sak vaiteh, na pahni hai lunghawinae lawk hoi akawi sak han.
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to naught.
Nang kahmuhmanaw hah yeiraipo sak vaiteh, tamikathoutnaw e rim teh awm mahoeh toe telah a ti.
