Job 34
1 Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
अझै एलीहूले निरन्तर बोले,
2 Hear my words, O ye wise [men]; and give ear to me, ye that have knowledge.
“हे बुद्धिमान् मानिसहरू हो, मेरा वचन सुन्नुहोस् । हे ज्ञान भएकाहरू हो, मेरा कुरा सुन्नुहोस् ।
3 For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth food.
जिब्रोले भोजनको स्वाद लिएझैं, कानले शब्दहरूलाई जाँच्ने कोसिस गर्छ ।
4 Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what [is] good.
जे न्यायोचित छ, सो हामी आफ्नो निम्ति रोजौं । जे असल छ, सो हामी आफ्नो बिचमा खोजौं ।
5 For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
किनकि अय्यूबले भनेका छन्, 'म धर्मी छु, तर परमेश्वरले मेरा अधिकारहरू हटाउनुभएको छ ।
6 Should I lie against my right? my wound [is] incurable without transgression.
मेरा अधिकारहरू भए पनि मलाई झुटो ठानिएको छ । म पापी नभए पनि मेरो घाउ निको हुँदैन ।'
7 What man [is] like Job, [who] drinketh up scorning like water?
अय्यूब कस्ता मानिस हुन्, जसले गिल्लालाई पनि पानीझैं पिउँछन्,
8 Who goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
जो दुष्ट काम गर्नेहरूको सङ्गतमा जान्छन्, र जो दुष्ट मानिसहरूसितै हिंड्छन् ।
9 For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
किनकि तिनले भनेका छन्, 'परमेश्वरले जे इच्छा गर्नुहुन्छ त्यो गर्नमा मानिसलाई कुनै रमाहट हुँदैन ।'
10 Therefore hearken to me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, [that he should do] wickedness; and [from] the Almighty, [that he should commit] iniquity.
त्यसैले हे सुझबुझ भएका मानिसहरू हो, मेरो कुरा सुन्नुहोस् । परमेश्वरले कदापि दुष्ट काम गर्नुहुन्न । सर्वशक्तिमान्ले कदापि पाप गर्नुहुन्न ।
11 For the work of a man he shall render to him, and cause every man to find according to [his] ways.
किनकि उहाँले व्यक्तिको कामअनुसारको प्रतिफल दिनुहुन्छ । उहाँले हरेक मानिसलाई उसका आफ्नै चालअनुसारको इनाम दिनुहुन्छ ।
12 Yes, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
वास्तवमा परमेश्वरले कुनै दुष्ट काम गर्नुहुन्न, न त सर्वशक्तिमान्ले कदापि न्यायलाई बङ्ग्याउनुहुन्छ ।
13 Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
कसले उहाँलाई पृथ्वीको निरीक्षक तुल्याएको हो र? कसले सारा संसार उहाँको अधीनमा राखिदिएको हो र?
14 If he should set his heart upon man, [if] he should gather to himself his spirit and his breath;
उहाँले आफ्ना मनसायहरू आफैमा मात्र राख्नुभएको भए, र उहाँले कहिलै आफ्ना आत्मा र सास आफैमा फर्काउनुभए,
15 All flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust.
तब सारा प्राणी एकसाथ नष्ट हुन्थे । मानव-जाति फेरि पनि माटोमा नै फर्कन्थ्यो ।
16 If now [thou hast] understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.
अब तपाईंसित सुझबुझ छ भने, यो कुरा सुन्नुहोस् । मेरो वचनको आवाजलाई सुन्नुहोस् ।
17 Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
के न्यायलाई घृणा गर्नेले शासन गर्न सक्छ? के तपाईंले परमेश्वरलाई दोषी ठहराउनुहुन्छ जो धर्मी र शक्तिशाली हुनुहुन्छ?
18 [Is it fit] to say to a king, [Thou art] wicked? [and] to princes, [Ye are] ungodly?
परमेश्वरले राजालाई भन्नुहुन्छ, 'तँ निकम्मा होस्' वा कुलीनहरूलाई भन्नुहुन्छ, 'तिमीहरू दुष्ट हौ ।'
19 [How much less to him] that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all [are] the work of his hands.
परमेश्वरले अगुवाहरूको पक्ष लिनुहुन्न, र गरिबहरूलाई भन्दा बढी मान धनीहरूलाई गर्नुहुन्न, किनकि तिनीहरू सबै उहाँका हातका काम हुन् ।
20 In a moment they shall die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
एकै क्षणमा तिनीहरू मर्नेछन् । मध्यरातमा मानिसहरू हल्लिन्छन् र बितेर जान्छन् । शक्तिशाली मानिसहरू लगिन्छन्, तर मानवीय हातले होइन ।
21 For his eyes [are] upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
किनकि परमेश्वरको दृष्टि मानिसको चालमा हुन्छ । उहाँले त्यसका सबै कदम हेर्नुहुन्छ ।
22 [There is] no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
यस्तो कुनै अन्धकार वा बाक्लो अँध्यारो छैन, जहाँ अधर्म गर्नेहरूले आफैलाई लुकाउन सक्छन् ।
23 For he will not lay upon man more [than right]; that he should enter into judgment with God.
किनकि परमेश्वरले व्यक्तिको थप जाँच गर्नुपर्दैन । कुनै पनि व्यक्ति इन्साफको लागि उहाँको सामु जानु आवश्यक छैन ।
24 He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
उहाँले शक्तिशाली मानिसहरूलाई तिनीहरूका चालको कारणले टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्नुहुन्छ जसको थप अनुसन्धान आवश्यक नै हुँदैन । उहाँले तिनीहरूका ठाउँमा अरूलाई राख्नुहुन्छ ।
25 Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth [them] in the night, so that they are destroyed.
यसरी तिनीहरूका कामहरूका जानकारी उहाँलाई हुन्छ । उहाँले यी मानिसहरूलाई रातमा पल्टाउनुहुन्छ । तिनीहरू नष्ट हुन्छन् ।
26 He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
अरूले देख्नेगरी खुला ठाउँमा, उहाँले तिनीहरूका दुष्ट कामहरूको लागि अपराधीहरूलाई झैं तिनीहरूलाई मार्नुहुन्छ,
27 Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
किनकि उहाँको अनुसरण गर्नबाट तिनीहरू तर्के, र उहाँका कुनै पनि मार्गको अनुसरण गर्न इन्कार गरे ।
28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come to him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
यसरी गरिब मानिसहरूको रोदन उहाँको कानले सुन्ने तिनीहरूले बनाए । कष्टमा परेका मानिसहरूको रोदन उहाँले सुन्नुभयो ।
29 When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth [his] face, who then can behold him? whether [it be done] against a nation, or against a man only:
जब उहाँ चुप लाग्नुहुन्छ, तब कसले उहाँलाई दोषी ठहराउन सक्छ र? उहाँले आफ्नो अनुहार लुकाउनुहुन्छ भने कसले उहाँलाई भेट्न सक्छ र? उहाँले जाति र व्यक्तिमाथि समान किसिमले शासन गर्नुहुन्छ,
30 That the hypocrite may not reign, lest the people should be ensnared.
जसको कारणले पापी मानिसले शासन गर्न नपाओस्, यसरी मानिसहरूलाई पासोमा पार्ने कोही नहोस् ।
31 Surely it is meet to be said to God, I have borne [chastisement], I will not offend [any more]:
मानौँ, कसैले परमेश्वरलाई भन्छ, 'म निश्चय नै दोषी छु, तर म फेरि पाप गर्नेछैनँ ।
32 [That which] I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
मैले देख्न नसक्ने कुरा मलाई सिकाउनुहोस् । मैले पाप गरेको छु, तर त्यो काम म फेरि गर्नेछैनँ ।'
33 [Should it be] according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou shalt refuse, or whether thou shalt choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
तपाईंको विचारमा, परमेश्वरले गर्नुहुने कुरा तपाईंलाई मन पर्दैन भन्दैमा, के परमेश्वरले त्यो व्यक्तिको पापलाई दण्ड दिनैपर्छ र? तपाईंले नै चुन्ने हो, मैल होइन । त्यसैले आफूले जानेका कुरा भन्नुहोस् ।
34 Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken to me.
सुझबुझ भएका मानिसहरूले मलाई भन्नेछन्— वास्तवमा मेरो कुरा सुन्ने हरेक बुद्धिमान् मानिसले भन्नेछ,
35 Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words [were] without wisdom.
'अय्यूब ज्ञानविनै बोल्छन् । तिनका शब्दहरूमा बुद्धिका कुरा छैनन् ।'
36 My desire [is that] Job may be tried to the end, because of [his] answers for wicked men.
अय्यूबले दुष्ट मानिसहरूले झैं कुरा गरेको हुनाले, तिनको भनेका स-साना कुरा लिएर जाँच गर्न सकिए त!
37 For he addeth rebellion to his sin, he clappeth [his hands] among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
किनकि आफ्नो पापमा तिनले विद्रोह थप्छन् । हाम्रा बिचमा गिल्ला गर्दै तिनी थपडी मार्छन् । तिनी परमेश्वरको विरुद्धमा वचनको थुप्रो लगाउँछन् ।”
