Job 27
1 Moreover, Job continued his parable, and said,
Job reprit sa parabole, et dit,
2 [As] God liveth, [who] hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty [who] hath afflicted my soul;
« Dieu est vivant, il m'a enlevé mon droit, le Tout-Puissant, qui a rendu mon âme amère
3 All the while my breath [is] in me, and the spirit of God [is] in my nostrils;
(car la durée de ma vie est encore en moi, et l'esprit de Dieu est dans mes narines);
4 My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
Mes lèvres ne diront pas l'iniquité, et ma langue ne profère pas de mensonges.
5 Far be it from me that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove my integrity from me.
Loin de moi l'idée de vous justifier. Jusqu'à ma mort, je ne mettrai pas de côté mon intégrité.
6 My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach [me] so long as I live.
Je tiens fermement à ma justice, je ne la lâcherai pas. Mon cœur ne me reprochera rien tant que je vivrai.
7 Let my enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.
« Que mon ennemi soit comme les méchants. Que celui qui se lève contre moi soit comme un injuste.
8 For what [is] the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
Car quelle est l'espérance de l'impie, quand il est exterminé? quand Dieu lui enlève la vie?
9 Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
Dieu entendra-t-il son cri quand la détresse s'abattra sur lui?
10 Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
Il se complaira dans le Tout-Puissant, et invoquer Dieu à tout moment?
11 I will teach you by the hand of God: [that] which [is] with the Almighty will I not conceal.
Je vous enseignerai la main de Dieu. Je ne cacherai pas ce qui est avec le Tout-Puissant.
12 Behold, all ye yourselves have seen [it]; why then are ye thus altogether vain?
Voici, vous l'avez tous vu vous-mêmes; pourquoi donc es-tu devenu tout à fait vain?
13 This [is] the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, [which] they shall receive of the Almighty.
« C'est la part du méchant avec Dieu, l'héritage des oppresseurs, qu'ils reçoivent du Tout-Puissant.
14 If his children are multiplied, [it is] for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
Si ses enfants se multiplient, c'est pour l'épée. Sa progéniture ne se contentera pas de pain.
15 Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
Ceux qui restent de lui seront enterrés dans la mort. Ses veuves ne se lamenteront pas.
16 Though he should heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay?
Quand il amasse l'argent comme la poussière, et préparer les vêtements comme l'argile;
17 He may prepare [it], but the just shall put [it] on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
il peut la préparer, mais le juste la mettra, et les innocents partageront l'argent.
18 He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth [that] the keeper maketh.
Il bâtit sa maison comme la teigne, comme une cabine que le gardien fait.
19 The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he [is] not.
Il se couche richement, mais il ne le fera plus. Il ouvre les yeux, et il ne l'est pas.
20 Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
Des terreurs l'envahissent comme des eaux. Une tempête l'emporte dans la nuit.
21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.
Le vent d'est l'emporte, et il s'en va. Ça le fait sortir de sa place.
22 For [God] shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
Car il se jette sur lui, et ne l'épargne pas, alors qu'il s'enfuit loin de sa main.
23 [Men] shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
Les hommesbattront des mains devant lui, et le sifflera de sa place.
