< Job 17 >

1 My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves [are ready] for me.

2 [Are there] not mockers with me? and doth not my eye continue in their provocation?

3 Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who [is] he [that] will strike hands with me?
Nama dueng lahoi kai hanelah, lawkkamnae hah sak, kut na ka man e teh api han namaw.
4 For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt [them].
Bangkongtetpawiteh, panuethainae dawk hoi, a lungthin hah na hro. Hatdawkvah ahnimouh teh, na rasangsak mahoeh.
5 He that speaketh flattery to [his] friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
A huiko koe dumnae hoi oupnae lawk ka dei e teh, a canaw e mit totouh a mawm han.
6 He hath made me also a by-word of the people; and in former time I was as a tabret.
Hateiteh, tamimaya koe kâpankhai rumram hanelah na sak teh, ahnimae hmalah tamtui pathasin rumram hanelah ka o.
7 My eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members [are] as a shade.
Ka lungmathoenae kecu dawk ka mit totouh a mawm teh, ka takthai pueng heh tâhlip rumram la ao.
8 Upright [men] shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.
Tamikalannaw ni hetheh kângairu ati awh han, kayonhoehe taminaw ni cathutlaipa e taminaw a taran awh han.
9 The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Hateiteh, tamikalan ni a lamthung hah a kuet vaiteh, ka thoung e kut ka tawn e teh hoe a thao han.
10 But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find [one] wise [man] among you.
Hateiteh, abuemlahoi pahren lahoi bout ban awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, nangmouh thung dawkvah tamilungkaang ka hmawt pawm mahoeh.
11 My days are past, my purposes are broken off, [even] the thoughts of my heart.
Ka hninnaw hai aloum toe. Ka lungthung hoi ka pouk teh, ka noe e naw hai ayawmyin lah doeh ao.
12 They change the night into day: the light [is] short because of darkness.
Tangmin hah kanîthun lah a kâthungsak teh, khohmo thung hai angnae a hnai toe ati awh.
13 If I wait, the grave [is] my house: I have made my bed in the darkness. (Sheol h7585)

14 I have said to corruption, Thou [art] my father: to the worm, [Thou art] my mother, and my sister.
rawkphainae hah apa doeh ka ti teh, tangraet koe nang teh anu hoi ka tawncanu doeh ka tetpawiteh,
15 And where [is] now my hope? as for my hope, who will see it?
ka ngaihawinae teh, nâ lah maw ao vai, ka ngaihawinae teh, apinimaw a hmu.
16 They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when [our] rest together [is] in the dust. (Sheol h7585)
Duenae kho takhang koe lah, a kamleng awh vaiteh, vaiphu dawk rei ka kâhat han namaw, telah ati. (Sheol h7585)
