< Job 15 >
1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
Na Temanni Elifas buaa sɛ,
2 Should a wise men utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?
“Enti onyansafoɔ de nsɛm a aba biara nni muo bɛyi nʼano anaasɛ ɔde apueeɛ mframa a emu yɛ hye bɛhyɛ nʼafuru ma?
3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches with which he can do no good?
Ɔde nsɛm huhuo bɛdi anobaabaeɛ, aka nsɛm a ɛntu bunu biara anaa?
4 Yes, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.
Wototo onyamesuro ase mmom na wosi Onyankopɔn mu ahotosoɔ ho ɛkwan.
5 For thy mouth uttereth thy iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
Wo bɔne kyerɛ wʼano deɛ ɔnka; na woafa aniteɛ tɛkrɛma.
6 Thy own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yes, thy own lips testify against thee.
Wo ankasa wʼano bu wo kumfɔ, ɛnyɛ me deɛ; wʼankasa wʼano di adanseɛ tia wo.
7 [Art] thou the first man [that] was born? or wast thou made before the hills?
“Wone onipa a wɔwoo wo dii ɛkan? Wɔwoo wo ansa na wɔrewo nkokoɔ?
8 Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
Wotie Onyankopɔn afotuo anaa? Wo nko ara na wonim nyansa anaa?
9 What knowest thou that we know not? [what] understandest thou, which [is] not in us?
Ɛdeɛn na wonim a, yɛnnim? Nhunumu bɛn na wowɔ a yɛnnie?
10 With us [are] both the gray headed and very aged men, much older than thy father.
Deɛ wafu dwono ne akɔkoraa wɔ yɛn afa, wɔn a wɔanyini sene wʼagya mpo.
11 [Are] the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
Onyankopɔn awerɛkyekyerɛ ne nsɛm a wɔka no brɛoo kyerɛ wo no sua ma wo anaa?
12 Why doth thy heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,
Adɛn enti na wʼakoma atwe wo korɔ adɛn enti na wʼani asɔ ogya,
13 That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest [such] words go out of thy mouth?
na woadane wʼabofuo agu Onyankopɔn so na woma saa nsɛm yi pue firi wʼano?
14 What [is] man, that he should be clean? and [he who is] born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
“Ɔdasani ne hwan a ɔbɛtumi ayɛ pɛ, anaasɛ deɛ ɔbaa awo noɔ bɛn na ɔbɛtumi ayɛ ɔteneneeni?
15 Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
Onyankopɔn nni ahotosoɔ wɔ nʼakronkronfoɔ mu. Ɔsorosoro mpo nnyɛ kronn wɔ nʼani so,
16 How much more abominable and filthy [is] man, who drinketh iniquity like water?
na nkantom onipa bɔnefoɔ ne omumuyɛfoɔ a ɔnom awurukasɛm sɛ nsuo.
17 I will show thee, hear me; and that [which] I have seen, I will declare;
“Tie me, na mɛkyerɛ wo mu; ma menka deɛ mahunu nkyerɛ wo,
18 Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid [it]:
deɛ anyansafoɔ apae mu aka, a wɔamfa biribiara a wɔnya firii wɔn agyanom hɔ no ansie
19 To whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.
(wɔn a wɔde asase no maa wɔn ɛberɛ a ananafoɔ biara nni hɔ):
20 The wicked man travaileth with pain all [his] days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.
Omumuyɛfoɔ kɔ ahohiahia mu ne nkwanna nyinaa. Na basabasayɛni nso, wɔahyehyɛ ne mfeɛ nyinaa ama no.
21 A dreadful sound [is] in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
Nnyegyeɛ a ɛyɛ hu hyɛ nʼasom ma; na sɛ ɛyɛ sɛ nneɛma rekɔ yie ma no a, akorɔmfoɔ to hyɛ ne so.
22 He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for by the sword.
Ɔpa aba sɛ ɔbɛdwane afiri esum mu; wɔabɔ no ato hɔ ama akofena.
23 He wandereth abroad for bread, [saying], Where [is it]? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
Ɔkyinkyini hwehwɛ aduane; ɔnim sɛ esum da no abɛn.
24 Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
Ɔhaw ne ahoyera yi no hu; ɛhyɛ ne so sɛ ɔhene a wasiesie ne ho ama ɔko,
25 For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
ɛfiri sɛ ɔtenetene ne nsa kyerɛ Onyankopɔn na ɔma ne ho so tia Otumfoɔ.
26 He runneth upon him, [even] on [his] neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
Wɔde akokyɛm a emu pi na ɛyɛ den kɔ ne so a wɔnsuro no.
27 Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on [his] flanks.
“Ɛwom sɛ sradeɛ ama wɔn afono atotɔ na wɔn asene mu ɛnam agu mmɛbɛ deɛ,
28 And he dwelleth in desolate cities, [and] in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.
nanso wɔbɛtena nkuro a aguo so na wɔatena afie a obi nte mu, afie a ɛrebubu mu.
29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection of it upon the earth.
Wɔrenkɔ so nyɛ adefoɔ bio, na wɔn ahonya rennyina, na wɔn agyapadeɛ so bɛte na ayera wɔ asase so.
30 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
Esum bɛduru wɔn; ogyaframa bɛkusa wɔn mman, na Onyankopɔn anom ahomeguo bɛsoa wɔn akɔ.
31 Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompense.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ wɔde wɔn ho to nneɛma huhuo so de daadaa wɔn ho, ɛfiri sɛ wɔrennya hwee mfiri mu.
32 It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.
Ansa na wɔn da bɛduru no, wɔbɛtua wɔn ka a ebi renka, na wɔn mman renyɛ frɔmfrɔm.
33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.
Wɔbɛyɛ sɛ bobedua a wɔapore so aba a ɛnnyiniiɛ, te sɛ ngo dua a ne nhyerɛnne repore gu fam.
34 For the congregation of hypocrites [shall be] desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
Na abɔnefoɔ fekuo a wɔnnim Onyankopɔn no renso aba, na ogya bɛhye wɔn a wɔdɔ kɛtɛasehyɛ no ntomadan.
35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
Wɔnyinsɛn ɔhaw na wɔwo amumuyɛ; wɔn awotwaa siesie nnaadaa.”
