Job 15
1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
੧ਤਦ ਅਲੀਫਾਜ਼ ਤੇਮਾਨੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ,
2 Should a wise men utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?
੨“ਭਲਾ, ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਹਵਾਈ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੇਟ ਪੂਰਬ ਦੀ ਹਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ?
3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches with which he can do no good?
੩ਕੀ ਉਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹਿਸ ਕਰੇ, ਜਾਂ ਅਵਿਰਥਾ ਬੋਲੇ?
4 Yes, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.
੪ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਭੈਅ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੋਂ ਧਿਆਨ ਹਟਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
5 For thy mouth uttereth thy iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
੫ਤੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਛਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
6 Thy own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yes, thy own lips testify against thee.
੬ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
7 [Art] thou the first man [that] was born? or wast thou made before the hills?
੭“ਕੀ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਹੈਂ ਜਾਂ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ?
8 Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
੮ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਾਂ ਬੁੱਧ ਦਾ ਠੇਕਾ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਲੈ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ?
9 What knowest thou that we know not? [what] understandest thou, which [is] not in us?
੯ਤੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ? ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਸਮਝ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ?
10 With us [are] both the gray headed and very aged men, much older than thy father.
੧੦ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੌਲਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਵੀ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਹਨ।
11 [Are] the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
੧੧ਕੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਸੱਲੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਨਰਮੀ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਹਲਕੇ ਹਨ?
12 Why doth thy heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,
੧੨ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਖਿੱਚੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ਼ਾਰੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
13 That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest [such] words go out of thy mouth?
੧੩ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
14 What [is] man, that he should be clean? and [he who is] born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
੧੪“ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਠਹਿਰੇ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਠਹਿਰੇ?
15 Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
੧੫ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ,
16 How much more abominable and filthy [is] man, who drinketh iniquity like water?
੧੬ਭਲਾ, ਫੇਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੀ ਜੋ ਘਿਣਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
17 I will show thee, hear me; and that [which] I have seen, I will declare;
੧੭“ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਸੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਵਰਨਣ ਮੈਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
18 Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid [it]:
੧੮ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਛੁਪਾਇਆ,
19 To whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.
੧੯ਉਹਨਾਂ ਇੱਕਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਦੇਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਲੰਘਿਆ,
20 The wicked man travaileth with pain all [his] days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.
੨੦ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਜੀਵਨ ਭਰ ਤੜਫ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਲਿਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਸਾਲ ਗਿਣ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
21 A dreadful sound [is] in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
੨੧ਭੈਅ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੂੰਜਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵੀ ਲੁਟੇਰਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
22 He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for by the sword.
੨੨ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਡੀਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
23 He wandereth abroad for bread, [saying], Where [is it]? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
੨੩ਉਹ ਰੋਟੀ ਲਈ ਮਾਰਿਆ-ਮਾਰਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ? ਉਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
24 Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
੨੪ਪੀੜ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਜੋ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਬਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
25 For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
੨੫ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਿਰ ਚੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
26 He runneth upon him, [even] on [his] neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
੨੬ਉਹ ਟੇਢੀ ਧੌਣ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੋਟੀਆਂ-ਮੋਟੀਆਂ ਨੋਕਦਾਰ ਢਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਘਮੰਡ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
27 Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on [his] flanks.
੨੭“ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਚਰਬੀ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਟਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਰਬੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਤੈਹਾਂ ਜਮਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ,
28 And he dwelleth in desolate cities, [and] in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.
੨੮ਉਹ ਉੱਜੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਖੰਡਰ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection of it upon the earth.
੨੯ਉਹ ਧਨੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਨਾ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਮਾਲ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਜ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੱਲ ਝੁਕੇਗੀ।
30 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
੩੦ਉਹ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਨਿੱਕਲੇਗਾ, ਲਾਟਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਕਾ ਦੇਣਗੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
31 Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompense.
੩੧ਉਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
32 It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.
੩੨ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਣੀ ਹਰੀ ਨਾ ਰਹੇਗੀ।
33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.
੩੩ਦਾਖ ਦੀ ਕੱਚੀ ਵੇਲ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਝੜ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਣਗੇ।
34 For the congregation of hypocrites [shall be] desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
੩੪ਅਧਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਬਾਂਝ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਰਿਸ਼ਵਤ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਸਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
੩੫ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਛਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”
