Job 15

1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,

അപ്പോൾ തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫാസ് ഇപ്രകാരം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു:

2 Should a wise men utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?

“ജ്ഞാനിയായ ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ വ്യർഥജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മറുപടി പറയുമോ? കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റുകൊണ്ട് അവർ വയറുനിറയ്ക്കുമോ?

3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches with which he can do no good?

അവർ അർഥശൂന്യമായ വാക്കുകൾകൊണ്ടും ഉപകാരമില്ലാത്ത സംഭാഷണംകൊണ്ടും തർക്കിക്കുമോ?

4 Yes, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.

എന്നാൽ ദൈവഭക്തിപോലും നീ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവസന്നിധിയിലുള്ള ധ്യാനം നീ തുച്ഛീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

5 For thy mouth uttereth thy iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.

അകൃത്യം നിന്റെ വാക്കുകളിൽത്തന്നെ വ്യക്തമാകുന്നു; കൗശലക്കാരുടെ ഭാഷ നീ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

6 Thy own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yes, thy own lips testify against thee.

ഞാനല്ല, നിന്റെ വായ്‌തന്നെ നിന്നെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെതന്നെ അധരങ്ങൾ നിനക്കെതിരേ സാക്ഷ്യംനൽകുന്നു.

7 [Art] thou the first man [that] was born? or wast thou made before the hills?

“നീയാണോ ആദ്യം ജനിച്ച മനുഷ്യൻ? കുന്നുകൾക്കുംമുമ്പേ പിറന്നവൻ നീയോ?

8 Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?

നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലോചന ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ? ജ്ഞാനം കുത്തകയായി ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കുമാത്രമോ?

9 What knowest thou that we know not? [what] understandest thou, which [is] not in us?

ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് അജ്ഞാതമായിരിക്കുന്ന ഏതു കാര്യമാണ് നിനക്ക് അറിയാവുന്നത്? ഞങ്ങൾക്കില്ലാത്ത ഏത് ഉൾക്കാഴ്ചയാണ് നീ സമ്പാദിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്?

10 With us [are] both the gray headed and very aged men, much older than thy father.

തല നരച്ചവരും വയോധികരും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുണ്ട്; നിന്റെ പിതാവിനെക്കാൾ പ്രായമുള്ളവർതന്നെ

11 [Are] the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?

ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആശ്വാസവചസ്സുകളും നിന്നോടു സൗമ്യമായി പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകളും നിനക്കു വളരെ നിസ്സാരമോ?

12 Why doth thy heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,

നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം നിന്നെ വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്? നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ ജ്വലിക്കുന്നതിനും കാരണമെന്ത്?

13 That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest [such] words go out of thy mouth?

നീ ദൈവത്തിനെതിരേ നിന്റെ ക്രോധം ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുകയും ഇത്തരം വാക്കുകൾ നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത് എന്തിന്?

14 What [is] man, that he should be clean? and [he who is] born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

“മനുഷ്യർക്കു നിർമലരായിരിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ? സ്ത്രീയിൽനിന്ന് ഉത്ഭവിച്ചവർക്ക് നീതിനിഷ്ഠരാകാൻ കഴിയുമോ?

15 Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight.

ദൈവം തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധരെ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ എടുക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ സ്വർഗവും അവിടത്തെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നിർമലമല്ലെങ്കിൽ,

16 How much more abominable and filthy [is] man, who drinketh iniquity like water?

നിന്ദ്യനും ദൂഷിതനും അനീതിയെ വെള്ളംപോലെ കുടിക്കുന്നവനുമായ മനുഷ്യർ എത്രയധികം!

17 I will show thee, hear me; and that [which] I have seen, I will declare;

“എന്നെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വിശദീകരിച്ചുതരാം; എന്റെ നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു വിവരിക്കട്ടെ.

18 Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid [it]:

ജ്ഞാനികൾ തങ്ങളുടെ പൂർവികരിൽനിന്ന് കേട്ടതും ഒന്നും മറച്ചുവെക്കാതെ വിളിച്ചുപറയുകയും ചെയ്ത വാക്കുകൾതന്നെ.

19 To whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.

ഒരു വിദേശിയും അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ്, അവർക്കുമാത്രമായി ഈ ദേശം നൽകപ്പെട്ടത്.

20 The wicked man travaileth with pain all [his] days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.

ദുഷ്ടർ തങ്ങളുടെ ആയുഷ്കാലം മുഴുവൻ വേദനയിൽ പുളയുന്നു; നിഷ്ഠുരർക്കു നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ട സംവത്സരങ്ങൾ തികയുന്നതുവരെത്തന്നെ.

21 A dreadful sound [is] in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.

അവരുടെ കാതുകളിൽ ഭീതിയുടെ ശബ്ദം മുഴങ്ങുന്നു; എല്ലാം ശുഭമായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ സംഹാരകർ അവരെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നു.

22 He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for by the sword.

അന്ധകാരത്തിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ കഴിയുമെന്ന് അവർക്കു പ്രതീക്ഷയില്ല; അവർ വാളിന് നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

23 He wandereth abroad for bread, [saying], Where [is it]? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

ആഹാരത്തിനായി കഴുകൻ എന്നപോലെ അവർ അലഞ്ഞുതിരിയുന്നു; അന്ധകാരദിനം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അവർ അറിയുന്നു.

24 Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

കഷ്ടപ്പാടും അതിവേദനയും അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധനായ രാജാവിനെപ്പോലെ അവ അവരെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നു.

25 For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.

അവർ ദൈവത്തിനു വിരോധമായി മുഷ്ടിചുരുട്ടുകയാലും സർവശക്തന്റെനേരേ ഊറ്റംകൊള്ളുകയാലുംതന്നെ.

26 He runneth upon him, [even] on [his] neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:

ഘനമുള്ളതും ശക്തിയേറിയതുമായ പരിചയേന്തിക്കൊണ്ട് അവർ ധിക്കാരഭാവത്തോടെ അവിടത്തേക്കെതിരേ പാഞ്ഞുചെല്ലുന്നു.

27 Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on [his] flanks.

“ദുഷ്ടരുടെ മുഖം മേദസ്സുകൊണ്ടു തുടുത്തുകൊഴുക്കുന്നു അവരുടെ അരക്കെട്ട് കൊഴുത്തു തടിച്ചവ ആണെങ്കിലും,

28 And he dwelleth in desolate cities, [and] in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.

അവർ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട നഗരങ്ങളിൽ താമസമാക്കും. ഇടിഞ്ഞുവീഴാറായതും ആരും പാർക്കാത്തതുമായ വീടുകളിൽത്തന്നെ അവർ പാർക്കും.

29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection of it upon the earth.

അവർ ധനികരാകുകയോ അവരുടെ സമ്പത്തു നിലനിൽക്കുകയോ ഇല്ല; അവരുടെ സമ്പാദ്യങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തു വർധിക്കുകയുമില്ല.

30 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.

ഇരുളിൽനിന്ന് അവർ രക്ഷപ്പെടുകയില്ല; അവരുടെ മുളകളെ തീനാളം കരിച്ചുകളയും തിരുവായിലെ നിശ്വാസത്താൽ അവർ നശിച്ചുപോകും.

31 Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompense.

അവർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ വഞ്ചിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ശൂന്യമായവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ, കാരണം അവരുടെ പ്രതിഫലവും ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കും.

32 It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.

അവരുടെ കാലംതികയുന്നതിനു മുമ്പുതന്നെ അവർ മാഞ്ഞുപോകും അവരുടെ ശാഖകൾ തഴച്ചുവളരുകയുമില്ല.

33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.

മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയിലെ പാകമാകാത്ത കായ്കൾ ഉതിർന്നുപോകുന്നതുപോലെയും; ഒലിവുമരത്തിലെ പൂക്കൾ കൊഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതുപോലെയും ആയിരിക്കും അവർ.

34 For the congregation of hypocrites [shall be] desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.

കാരണം, അഭക്തരുടെ സംഘം വന്ധ്യതയുള്ളവരാകും; കൈക്കൂലിക്കാരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങൾ അഗ്നിക്കിരയാകും.

35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.

അവർ ദ്രോഹത്തെ ഗർഭംധരിച്ച് അനീതിയെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഉദരം വഞ്ചന രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.”
