Job 11

1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

آنگاه صوفر نعماتی پاسخ داد:

2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?

آیا به این همه سخنان بی‌معنی نباید پاسخ گفت؟ آیا کسی با پرحرفی می‌تواند خود را تبرئه کند؟

3 Should thy falsehoods make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

ای ایوب، آیا فکر می‌کنی ما نمی‌توانیم جواب تو را بدهیم؟ وقتی که خدا را مسخره می‌کنی، آیا کسی نباید تو را شرمنده سازد؟

4 For thou hast said, My doctrine [is] pure, and I am clean in thy eyes.

ادعا می‌کنی که سخنانت درست است و در نظر خدا پاک هستی!

5 But Oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

ای کاش خدا صحبت می‌کرد و می‌گفت که نظرش دربارهٔ تو چیست.

6 And that he would show thee the secrets of wisdom, that [they are] double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee [less] than thy iniquity [deserveth].

ای کاش اسرار حکمتش را بر تو آشکار می‌کرد، زیرا حکمت او ورای درک انسان است. بدان که خدا کمتر از آنچه که سزاوار بوده‌ای تو را تنبیه کرده است.

7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty to perfection?

آیا تو می‌توانی اسرار خدای قادر مطلق را درک کنی؟ آیا می‌توانی عمق‌های او را کشف کنی؟

8 [It is] as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? (Sheol h7585)

آنها بلندتر از آسمانهاست؛ تو کی هستی؟ و عمیقتر از هاویه؛ تو چه می‌دانی؟ (Sheol h7585)

9 The measure of it [is] longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

طول آنها از زمین دراز‌تر است، و عرض آنها از دریا وسیع‌تر.

10 If he shall cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?

وقتی خدا کسی را می‌گیرد و محاکمه می‌کند، کیست که با او مخالفت کند؟

11 For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider [it]?

زیرا او خوب می‌داند چه کسی گناهکار است و از شرارت انسان آگاه می‌باشد.

12 For vain man would be wise, though man is born [like] a wild ass's colt.

دانا شدن مرد نادان همانقدر غیرممکن است که خر وحشی انسان بزاید!

13 If thou preparest thy heart, and stretchest out thy hands towards him;

حال دل خود را پاک کن و دستهایت را به سوی خدا برافراز؛

14 If iniquity [is] in thy hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

گناهانت را از خود دور کن و از بدی دست بردار؛

15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yes, thou shalt be steadfast, and shalt not fear:

آنگاه چهره‌ات از بی‌گناهی خواهد درخشید و با جرأت و اطمینان زندگی خواهی کرد.

16 Because thou shalt forget [thy] misery, [and] remember [it] as waters [that] pass away:

تمام سختیهای خود را فراموش خواهی کرد و از آنها همچون آب رفته یاد خواهی نمود.

17 And [thy] age shall be clearer than the noon-day: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

زندگی تو از آفتاب نیمروز درخشانتر خواهد شد و تیرگی زندگیت مانند صبح روشن خواهد گشت.

18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yes, thou shalt dig [about thee], [and] thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

در زندگی امید و اطمینان خواهی داشت و خدا به تو آرامش و امنیت خواهد بخشید.

19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make [thee] afraid; yes, many shall make suit to thee.

از دشمنان ترسی نخواهی داشت و بسیاری دست نیاز به سوی تو دراز خواهند کرد.

20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope [shall be as] the expiration of the breath.

اما چشمان شریران تار خواهد شد و برای آنها راه فراری نخواهد بود و تنها امیدشان مرگ خواهد بود.
