< Job 11 >
1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
To naah Namaat acaeng Zophar mah,
2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?
pop parai loknawk hae pathim han ai boeh maw? Lokthui thaih kami to a zaehaih thung hoiah loisak han oh maw?
3 Should thy falsehoods make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?
Lok nam laihaih mah minawk lokpae ai ah anghgaisak duem thai tih maw? Kami na pahnui thuih naah, nang azatpaw han thuitaek kami om mak ai maw?
4 For thou hast said, My doctrine [is] pure, and I am clean in thy eyes.
5 But Oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;
Toe Sithaw mah lokthui nasoe loe, na pahni to paong pae nasoe,
6 And that he would show thee the secrets of wisdom, that [they are] double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee [less] than thy iniquity [deserveth].
7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty to perfection?
Kathuk Sithaw ih hmuen to na hnuk thai maw? Thacak Sithaw akoephaih na panoek thai maw?
8 [It is] as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? (Sheol )
Vannawk pongah kasang, timaw na sah thai tih? Hell pongah kathuk kue, timaw na panoek thai tih? (Sheol )
9 The measure of it [is] longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
To kathuk hmuennawk tahhaih loe long pongah sawk kue moe, tuipui pongah doeh kawk kue.
10 If he shall cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?
Sithaw mah naeh maw, thong pakhrak maw, to tih ai boeh loe lok maw na caek nahaeloe, mi mah maw pakaa thai tih?
11 For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider [it]?
Sithaw loe tidoeh avang ai kami to panoek; sakpazae ih hmuen doeh a hnuk; to tiah nahaeloe anih mah to hmuen to poek ai ah om tih maw?
12 For vain man would be wise, though man is born [like] a wild ass's colt.
Toe taw ih laa hrang to kami baktiah tapen naah ni, tidoeh avang ai kami loe palungha thai vop tih.
13 If thou preparest thy heart, and stretchest out thy hands towards him;
Toe palungthin nam khraih moe, angmah khaeah ban na payangh pacoengah,
14 If iniquity [is] in thy hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
na ban ah sakpazaehaih om cadoeh, to zaehaih to na vah ving moe, na ohhaih kahni im ah sethaih na omsak ai nahaeloe,
15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yes, thou shalt be steadfast, and shalt not fear:
coek koi om ai ah na mikhmai amtueng tih; ue, zithaih om ai ah, kacakah nang doe tih:
16 Because thou shalt forget [thy] misery, [and] remember [it] as waters [that] pass away:
raihaih to na pahnet ueloe, kalaem tangcae tui baktiah ni na poek tih boeh.
17 And [thy] age shall be clearer than the noon-day: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.
Na hinghaih loe athun ih ni aengh pongah aang kue tih; vaihi kaving ah na oh cadoeh, akhawnbang baktiah aang tih.
18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yes, thou shalt dig [about thee], [and] thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make [thee] afraid; yes, many shall make suit to thee.
20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope [shall be as] the expiration of the breath.
Toe kasae kami ih mik loe thazok tih, loih o mak ai; nihcae oephaih doeh dueh ving tih, tiah a naa.
