< Jeremiah 44 >

1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who dwell in the land of Egypt, who dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
Izip ram dawk kaawm e Judah taminaw pueng, Migdil, Tahpanhes, Noph kho hoi Pathros ram khosaknaw kong dawk Jeremiah koe ka tho e lawk.
2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and behold, this day they [are] a desolation, and no man dwelleth in them.
Ransahu BAWIPA Isarel Cathut ni hettelah a dei, Jerusalem hoi Judah khopuinaw pueng e lathueng rawkkahmanae ka tho sak e naw pueng hah na hmu awh toe. Hatdawkvah, khenhaw! sahnin vah a kâraphoe teh apihai khosak awh hoeh toe.
3 Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, [and] to serve other gods, whom they knew not, [neither] they, ye, nor your fathers.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh ni thoseh, nangmouh ni thoseh, na mintoenaw ni thoseh a panue awh boihoeh e cathut alouke bawk hane hoi ahnimouh koe hmuitui thueng hanlah a cei awh teh, kaie lungkhuek sak nahanlah thoenae lam a dawn awh.
4 Yet I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending [them], saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
Hottelah nakunghai ka san profetnaw amom a thaw awh teh, ka patoun teh ahnimouh koevah, oe! hete panuettho e hno, ka hmuhma e heh sak awh hanh leih telah ka ti.
5 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods.
Hatei cathut alouknaw koe hmuitui thueng hoeh hane hoi hawihoehnae kamlang takhai hanelah thai ngai awh hoeh.
6 Wherefore my fury and my anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted [and] desolate, as at this day.
Hatdawkvah, ka lungkhueknae hoi ka lungkâannae teh Judah khopuinaw hoi Jerusalem lamnaw dawk ka rabawk teh, a kamtawi. Sahnin vah a coungnae patetlah a kâraphoe teh kingdi toe.
7 Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Why do ye commit [this] great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
Hatdawkvah, Isarel Cathut ransahu Cathut BAWIPA ni hettelah a dei, bangkongmaw namamouh thung hoi napui tongpa, camo sanu ka net e hoi Judah taminaw thung hoi apihai pâhlung laipalah be pâmit hanelah hete kahawihoehe hno heh, namamouh taranlahoi letlang na sak awh teh,
8 In that ye provoke me to wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye are gone to dwell, that ye may cut yourselves off, and that ye may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
khosak hanlah na ceinae Izip ram dawk e cathutnaw koe hmuitui na thueng awh teh, talai van e miphunnaw rahak vah, mahoima kâraphoe hane hoi, thoebo e tami hoi, pathoe e tami lah o hanelah na meikaphawknaw roeroe ni ka lungkhuek sak.
9 Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?
Na kakhekungnaw hawihoehnae hoi Judah siangpahrangnaw hawihoehnae, tamimaya hawihoehnae, namamouh hawihoehnae hoi, na yunaw hawihoehnae Judah ram hoi Jerusalem lamthung dawk a sak awh e naw hah na pahnim awh toung maw.
10 They are not humbled [even] to this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.
Sahnin totouh pankângai kalawn awh hoeh. Na kakhekung hoi nangmae hmalah ka kamnue sak e ka kâlawk hoi ka phunglam hah na tarawi awh hoeh teh na taket awh hoeh.
11 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.
Hatdawkvah, ransahu BAWIPA Isarel Cathut ni hettelah a dei, Khen awh haw nangmouh rawk nahane hoi Judah taminaw pueng raphoe hanelah na taran awh han.
12 And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, [and] fall in the land of Egypt; they shall [even] be consumed by the sword [and] by the famine: they shall die, from the least even to the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, [and] an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
Hahoi kacawirae Judah Izip ram vah khosak hanlah kabawmnaw hah ka man vaiteh, be ka pâmit han. Izip ram lah ban awh vaiteh, tahloi, takang hoi be raphoe e lah ao han. Kathoengca koehoi kalenpoung totouh tahloi, takang hoi a due awh han. Thoebo e hoi tami ni kângairu e hoi lawkthoeumkha bap e, hnephnap e lah ao awh han.
13 For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:
Jerusalem ka rek e patetlah Izip ram dawk kho ka sak e naw hah, tahloi, takang, lacik hoi ka rek han.
14 So that none of the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt, to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.
Hahoi Izip ram khosak hanlah kacetnaw thung hoi kacawirae Judah taminaw hah Judah ram ao awh nahane ban han a ngai poung awh e ram dawk a ban hanelah buet touh boehai ka dam lahoi tâcawt mahoeh. Arulahoi ka yawng e hoeh laipalah teh apihai ban mahoeh.
15 Then all the men who knew that their wives had burned incense to other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
Hattoteh taminaw pueng a yunaw ni cathut alouke koevah hmuitui a sawi awh telah ka panuek e naw hoi ka kangdout e napui moikapap naw, Izip ram dawk kho ka sak e tamimaya ni Pathros vah Jeremiah hah hettelah a pathung awh.
16 [As for] the word that thou hast spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken to thee.
BAWIPA min lahoi kaimouh koe na dei awh e hah ka ngai awh mahoeh.
17 But we will certainly do whatever thing proceedeth from our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink-offerings to her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for [then] we had plenty of provisions, and were well, and saw no evil.
Hatei kamamouh hoi kakhekungnaw, ka siangpahrangnaw hoi kahrawikungnaw ni Judah khopuinaw hoi Jerusalem lam dawk ouk a sak awh e patetlah kalvan siangpahrangnu koe hmuitui sawinae hoi ahni koe nei thuengnae awi nateh, kamamae pahni dawk hoi ka tâcawt e lawk patetlah ka sak awh roeroe han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, hatnae tueng dawk hmaisawi teh, canei kawi apap teh rucatnae kâhmo awh boihoeh.
18 But since we ceased to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink-offerings to her, we have wanted all [things], and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
Kalvan siangpahrangnu koe hmaisawi thuengnae hoi nei han rabawknae ka kâhat awh hnukkhu teh, bangpuengpa dawk ka vout awh teh, tahloi hoi takang hoi raphoe e lah ka o awh.
19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink-offerings to her, did we make for her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink-offerings to her, without our men?

20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people who had given him [that] answer, saying,
Hattoteh Jeremiah ni, taminaw pueng napui tongpa hoi ama kapathungnaw koe,
21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it [not] into his mind?

22 So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, [and] because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.
Yonnae na sak awh e hoi panuettho e hno na sak awh e dawk, BAWIPA ni khang thai hoeh toe. Hatdawkvah, nangmae ram teh kingdinae, kângairunae, thoebonae, hoi karingkung kaawm hoeh e sahnin e patetlah doeh ao.
23 Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil hath happened to you, as at this day.
Hmuitui na sawi awh teh BAWIPA e lathueng yonnae na sak awh teh, BAWIPA lawk na thai ngai awh hoeh. A kâlawk thoseh, a phunglam thoseh, na panue sak e lawk thoseh, na tarawi awh hoeh dawkvah, hete hno kahawihoeh e, atu e patetlah nangmouh lathueng ka phat e doeh telah a ti.
24 Moreover, Jeremiah said to all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that [are] in the land of Egypt:
Hothloilah, Jeremiah ni tamimaya hoi napuinaw koe, Izip ram e Judah taminaw pueng, BAWIPA e lawk heh thaihaw.
25 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink-offerings to her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
Ransahu BAWIPA Isarel Cathut ni hettelah a dei. Namamouh hoi na yunaw ni kalvan siangpahrangnu koevah, hmuitui sawi e hoi, nei rabawk hanelah, ka dei tangcoung e patetlah ka sak awh roeroe han telah na pahni ni a dei teh na kut ni hai a kuep sak. Na lawk kam hah caksak awh haw. Na kâcai e naw kuep sak roeroe awh.
26 Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.
Hatdawkvah, nangmouh Judah taminaw, Izip ram kho ka sak e taminaw pueng. BAWIPA e lawk thai awh. Thaihaw! Bawipa Jehovah a hring e patetlah Izip ram dawk kho ka sak e Judah tami apipatet nihai, ka min dei hanh lawi naseh telah kalenpounge ka mitnout lahoi thoe ka bo telah BAWIPA ni a dei.
27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that [are] in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there shall be an end of them.
Khenhaw! ahawi nahane laipalah, a rawk awh nahanelah, ahnimouh pou ka pawp. Judah tami Izip ram dawk kaawmnaw pueng teh, tahloi, takang hoi he raphoe hoehroukrak, be kahma sak e lah ao han.
28 Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that have gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.
Tahloi dawk hoi ka hlout e tami tangawn hah Izip ram hoi ban awh vaiteh, Judah ram dawk a kâen awh han. Kacawirae Judah taminaw pueng, Izip ram dawk khosak hanelah kacetnaw ni, apie lawk maw ka cak han, ka lawk maw, ahnimae lawk tie a panue awh han.
29 And this [shall be] a sign to you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:

30 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaoh-hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.
