< James 3 >

1 My brethren, be not many teachers, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
Ka suapui te awng, eite sia thukhen na a lianzaw i thuak tu hi, ci phawk in sya tampi na hi heak tavun.
2 For in many things we all offend. If any man offendeth not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
Banghangziam cile na tampi sung ah i vekpi in i maw hi. Mi khat sia kammal taw maw ngawl ahile, tua pa sia a picing a hihi, taciang a pumpi buppi zong a keamcing zo a hihi.
3 Behold, we put bits in the mouths of horses, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
En vun, siphu te in i thu hong nit thei natu in a kam ah mukkamh khau i koisak hi; taciang amate pumpi vekpi ki heaksak hi.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they are so great, and [are] driven by fierce winds, yet they are turned about with a very small helm, withersoever the governor willeth.
Tembaw te zong en vun, amate sia lian mama hi napi, huipi in ki khinsak hi, ahihang amate sia a hawlpa in a heakna no mama khat taw a ukna mun theampo ah ki heaksak thei hi.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
Tasia bangma in leii zong no mama hi napi, nasiatak in kisuangtak thei hi. En vun, thing bangza a tam zong mei san no in kaang siat thei hi!
6 And the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire from hell. (Geenna g1067)
Taciang leii sia mei a hihi, phatngawlna i leitung a hihi: tasia bangma in leii sia i pumpi sung ah pumpikhen khat hi a, tua in i pumpi niinsak hi, cilesa hina theampo hei kakoai siat hi; taciang hell mei tung ah hong em hi. (Geenna g1067)
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of animals in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind:
Banghangziam cile ngamsa namcin, vacim namcin le ngul namcin, taciang tuipi sung a nganhing te zong mihing in zualsak hi:
8 But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Ahihang kuama in leii sia zualsak zo ngawl hi; khak zo ngawl in kisia a, thina ngu taw kidim hi.
9 With this we bless God, even the Father; and with this we curse men, who are made after the similitude of God.
Tua i leii taw Pa Pathian i pok hi; taciang tua leii tawma in Pathian meal bang in a vawt mihing te i hamsiat hi.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
Kam hawng khat sung pan in thupha piakna le hamsiatna pusuak hi. Ka suapui te awng, hi te sia tabang tu hi ngawl hi.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet [water] and bitter?
Ciktui khat pan in tui thum le tui kha a phulsak ngei ziam?
12 Can the fig-tree, my brethren, bear olive-berries? or a vine, figs? so no fountain [can] yield both salt water and fresh.
Ka suapui te awng, theikung in olive nga a nga thei ziam? sapit kung in e, thei nga a nga thei ziam? tua ahikom ciktui khat in tui al le tui thum phulsak thei ngawl hi.
13 Who [is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show by a good deportment his works with meekness of wisdom.
Note sung ah heakna taw a kidim mipil akua ziam? ama in ciimna sia thinneamna taw phatna a sep te kilangsak tahen.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
Ahihang note thinsung ah a kha mama hazatna le ki elna, na nei uh le, angtang heak vun, taciang thuman langpan in leilot thu son heak vun.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, demoniacal.
Hi ciimna sia tunglam pan hong theng hi ngawl hi, leitung ciimna, cilesa ciimna le doai ciimna a hihi.
16 For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.
Banghangziam cile hazatna le ki elna omna mun ah, buaina le na pha ngawl a tatuam om tawntung hi.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Tunglam pan hong theng ciimna sia a masabel in thiangtho hi, taciang ngual taw kilem a, thin zong neam hi, taciang kaizot ol hi, hesuakna le nga pha te taw kidim hi, doidanna nei ngawl a, ki phatsakna zong nei ngawl hi.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by them that make peace.
Taciang thutang suana i nga sia thinnopna a vawt te in thinnopna sung ah cing uh hi.
