< James 3 >

1 My brethren, be not many teachers, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
Ka püie, nami van cun jah mtheikia saja am thawn uki. Nami ksinga kba jah mtheikie sajae cun akcea kthak däm bawkia ngthumkhyahnak angkata khamei khaie ni.
2 For in many things we all offend. If any man offendeth not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
Avan naw mi hma theiki. A pyennak üng hmanak am pawh khawi tikia khyang cän kümcei lü a pumsa avan nängeiki ni.
3 Behold, we put bits in the mouths of horses, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
Ngsea mpyawng cän kbüpnak üng mi kbüp lü jah kcangnak khaia mi pawh lü mi hlüeinaka mi cehpüi khawhki.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they are so great, and [are] driven by fierce winds, yet they are turned about with a very small helm, withersoever the governor willeth.
Mlawngnu cän ngai süm u: däm kyaw lüpi khawkhi naw a ceh hü ni, ani cun mawngnak akdik am ktui lü mawngki naw a hlünaka a mawng ni.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
Mlei pi acuna täng ni: dik ca kyaw lüpi akdäm kdäma awhcah theiki ni. Ia mäi dämkia maw cän pi mei ksa api naw avana uiki ti cän ngai süma!
6 And the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire from hell. (Geenna g1067)
(Geenna g1067)
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of animals in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind:
Mimi khyange cun naw khisa k’länge ja kphyukhae, ngnawnngvakie ja ngae cun jah näng vai kunga mi jah nängei khawhkie ni.
8 But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Lüpi u naw pi mlei cun am näng khawh. Mlei cun am mi kbüp khawha aksexu kya lü thihnak vai asik am beki ni.
9 With this we bless God, even the Father; and with this we curse men, who are made after the similitude of God.
Mi mlei cun Bawipa ja Pamhnam mhlünmtainaka pi sumei lü Pamhnama mäia mhnünmcenga kyaki khyange pi mi jah yüncenak ni.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
Mpyawng mat üngkhyüh jenak khyü ja yüncenak khyü lut lawki ni. Ka püie, ahikba am thawn yah.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet [water] and bitter?
Tui hna mat üngkhyüh aktui ja akha tui cun am lawng law thei.
12 Can the fig-tree, my brethren, bear olive-berries? or a vine, figs? so no fountain [can] yield both salt water and fresh.
Ka püie, kthei dung cun olipa am ngthei, capyit pi ktheia am ngthei, acuna kba sih naw tui kdaw am mhluh law.
13 Who [is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show by a good deportment his works with meekness of wisdom.
Nangmi üng kthem lü ksingkhyapki nami veki aw. Akdawa na xünsak üng mdanki lü akdaw na bilawh cun mlung mhnemnak ja pumngyam am pawhmsah a.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
Lüpi na mlung k'uma ng’eihnak, ksekhanak, kamvanak ja ngthungtak cän käh mkhye na lü nami pumngyam käh awhcah ua.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, demoniacal.
Acu banga pumngyam cun khankhaw üngkhyüh am law: khawmdek üng am sängei lü mtisa, ngmüimkhyakse ja khawkse pumngyam üng sängeiki ni.
16 For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.
Ng’eihnak ja kamvanak ami venaka am cunginak ja aksexu naküt pi veki.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Khan üngkhyüh lawkia pumngyam cun akcük säiha ngcim lü ani cun dim’yenak, hniphnawinak ja nglawieinak: ani cun mpyenmseinak am be lü akdawkyaa bilawhnak cun mawihahnak be pawhki ni. Ani cun limmanak ja am cuhliheinak am ve.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by them that make peace.
Dimdeihnak pawhkia nglin, dimdeihnaka mci üngkhyüh akdawkya bilawhnak cun mawihaheinak be pawhki ni.
