Isaiah 57

1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth [it] to heart: and merciful men [are] taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come].

Cel drept piere şi nimeni nu pune aceasta la inimă, şi oameni miloşi sunt luaţi, fără ca nimeni să ia aminte că cel drept este luat de la răul ce vine.

2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, [each one] walking [in] his uprightness.

El va intra în pace, ei se vor odihni în paturile lor, fiecare umblând în integritatea lui.

3 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the lewd.

Dar apropiaţi-vă aici, voi, fii ai vrăjitoarei, sămânţă a adulterului şi a curvei.

4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, [and] thrust out the tongue? [are] ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,

De cine vă bateţi voi joc? Împotriva cui lărgiţi gura [şi] scoateţi limba? Nu sunteţi copii ai fărădelegii, o sămânţă a falsităţii,

5 Inflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the cliffs of the rocks?

Aprinzându-vă cu idoli sub fiecare pom verde, ucigând copiii în văile de sub coastele stâncilor?

6 Among the smooth [stones] of the stream [is] thy portion; they, they [are] thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink-offering, thou hast offered a meat-offering. Should I receive comfort in these?

Printre pietrele netede ale pârâului este partea ta; ele, ele sunt sorţul tău, lor le-ai turnat un dar de băutură, ai adus un dar de mâncare. Să primesc eu mângâiere în acestea?

7 Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither thou wentest up to offer sacrifice.

Pe un munte îngâmfat şi înalt ţi-ai aşezat patul, chiar până acolo ai mers să aduci sacrificiu.

8 Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast uncovered [thyself to another] than me, and hast gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee [a covenant] with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest [it].

De asemenea în spatele uşilor şi al stâlpilor ţi-ai aşezat amintirea, căci te-ai descoperit altuia [și] nu mie şi te-ai urcat, ţi-ai lărgit patul şi ţi-ai făcut un legământ cu ei; ai iubit patul lor unde l-ai văzut.

9 And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase [thyself even] to hell. (Sheol h7585)

Şi ai mers la împărat cu untdelemn şi ai înmulţit miresmele tale şi ai trimis mesagerii tăi departe şi te-ai înjosit chiar până la iad. (Sheol h7585)

10 Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; [yet] saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thy hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.

Ai obosit de măreția căilor tale; totuşi nu ai spus: Nu este speranţă; ai găsit viaţa mâinii tale; de aceea nu te-ai mâhnit.

11 And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid [it] to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?

Şi de cine te-ai temut sau înfricat, că ai minţit şi nu ţi-ai amintit de mine, nici nu ai pus aceasta la inimă? Nu am tăcut încă din vechime, iar tu nu te-ai temut de mine?

12 I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.

Voi vesti dreptatea ta şi faptele tale, deoarece nu îţi vor folosi.

13 When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take [them]: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;

Când strigi, să te elibereze mulţimile tale; dar vântul le va duce pe toate; zădărnicia le va lua, dar cel ce îşi pune încrederea în mine va stăpâni pământul şi va moşteni muntele meu sfânt;

14 And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people.

Şi va spune: Înălţaţi, înălţaţi, pregătiţi calea, îndepărtaţi piatra de poticnire din calea poporului meu.

15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Fiindcă astfel spune Cel înalt şi preaînalt care locuieşte în eternitate, al cărui nume este Sfânt: Eu locuiesc în locul înalt şi sfânt cu cel care de asemenea este al unui duh căit şi umil, pentru a înviora duhul celui umil şi pentru a înviora inima celor căiţi.

16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit would fail before me, and the souls [which] I have made.

Căci nu mă voi certa pentru totdeauna, nici nu voi fi totdeauna furios, fiindcă duhul ar lipsi dinaintea mea şi sufletele pe care le-am făcut.

17 For the iniquity of his covetousness I was wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.

Pentru nelegiuirea lăcomiei lui m-am înfuriat şi l-am lovit, m-am ascuns şi m-am înfuriat, iar el a continuat cu perversitate pe calea inimii lui.

18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.

Am văzut căile lui şi îl voi vindeca, de asemenea îl voi conduce şi îi voi restaura mângâieri, lui şi jelitorilor lui.

19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to [him that is] far off, and to [him that is] near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.

Eu creez rodul buzelor. Pace, pace celui ce este departe şi celui ce este aproape, spune DOMNUL; şi îl voi vindeca.

20 But the wicked [are] like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

Dar cei stricaţi sunt ca marea tulburată, când nu se poate odihni, ale cărei ape aruncă noroi şi pământ.

21 [There is] no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

Nu este pace, spune Dumnezeul meu, celui stricat.
