< Isaiah 36 >
1 Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, [that] Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah, and took them.
Hezekiah leng vaihom kum somle li lhinin, Assyria lengpa Sennacherib in Juda te khopi kulpi ho chu ano khumin alo gamtam ahi.
2 And the king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem against king Hezekiah with a great army. And he stood by the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field.
Hichen Assyria lengpan a sepai jalamkai Lachish akonin galsat sepai tamtah toh Jerusalem'a leng Hezekiah satdin asolin ahi. Assyria ten sahlam dilneo, ponsopna lou lampia longlha vacha achun panmun akisemun ahi.
3 Then came forth to him Eliakim, Hilkiah's son, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, Asaph's son, the recorder.
Hiche lamkai chenghin aga lamdot uvin ahi: Kilkiah chapa Eliakim, leng inpi'a vaihom; Shebna, thutanna munna thuching; chuleh Asaph, thutanna munna thuching; chuleh Asaph chapa Joah, leng insung thuching ahiuve.
4 And Rabshakeh said to them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence [is] this in which thou trustest?
Hichun Assyria lengpa sepai jalamkai pachun Hezekiah thuhil aneichu aseipeh tan ahi: “Hiche hi Assyria leng hatchung nungin asei ahi: Ipi tahsan um nanei uva hibanga hi tahsan detkheh a naum uham?
5 I say, [sayest thou] (but [they are but] vain words) [I have] counsel and strength for war: now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
Thucheng mai mai ja galsat thepna, hatna kineitheija nagel uham? Koi nakison pi uva, keima nei dou uham?
6 Lo, thou trustest in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; on which if a man lean, it will enter his hand, and pierce it: so [is] Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that trust in him.
Egypt chunga nakison uham? Egypt'a na kingai uleh pumpeng agei hem in nakhut asuh vang pai tobang ding ahi. Egypt Lengpa Pharaoh chu tahsan thei ahi naisai poi.
7 But if thou shalt say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: [is it] not he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?
Ahin, hitia hi nahin seimaithei u ahi, 'Pakai ka Pathen uva katahsan nao uma ahi!' Ahin amachu hilou ham, Hezekiah in ana jumso chu? Hezekiah hilou ham ahouin leh amaicham jouse sumanga, Judah leh Jerusalem'a cheng jousen maicham kisem na Jerusalem a bou agahou thei diu chu?
8 Now therefore give pledges, I pray thee, to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou canst on thy part set riders upon them.
“Ipi ham naseipeh unge! Ka lamkai pu Assyria lengpa toh kidehto nakhat neijin. Keiman sakol sangni nape jeng inge, achung cheh a touding mi namu poupouleh!
9 How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master's servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?
Hiche galsat sepai lhomcha neijan, iti kapupa sepai hon khat alhasam pen jong joulou dinga, Egypt te sakol kangtalai holeh atolho panpinan jong joulou dinga, chouding nati ham?
10 And am I now come up without the LORD against this land to destroy it? the LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
Gah seibe din, Pakai puihoina beija nagam kahung bulu u nahisah ham? Pakai amatah in hitia hi eiseipeh u ahi, 'hiche gamchu satnun lang, sumang un!'
11 Then said Eliakim and Shebna and Joah to Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand [it]: and speak not to us in the Jew's language, in the ears of the people that [are] on the wall.
Hichun Eliakim, Shebna, chule Joah chun Assyria jalamkai pa henga aseijin, “Lungset tah in Aramaic paovin nei houlim piuvin ajehchu hoitah in kahechen set uve. Hebrew paovin neihou hih un ajehchu bang ninglanga umho khun jaget unte.”
12 But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speak these words? [hath he] not [sent me] to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may devour their vilest excretions with you?
Ahin Sennacherib jalamkai pan hitin ahin donbut in, “Hiche thuhil hi ka lengpan nangma leh na pupa dinga bou ahin thot nahisah ham? Aman mijouse jah dinga adei ahi. 13 Then Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jew's language, and said, Hear ye the words of the great king, the king of Assyria.

14 Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he will not be able to deliver you.
Lengpan asei hiche hi ahi: Hezekiah chu kilheplhah sah hih un. Aman a imatih'a na huhdoh joulou diu ahi.
15 Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, the LORD will surely deliver us: this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

16 Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make [an agreement] with me [by] a present, and come out to me: and eat ye every one of his vine, and every one of his fig-tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his own cistern;
Hezekiah thusei chu ngai hih un! Assyria lengpan phat tepna apeh ho ahi: Keima toh kichamna semun-nakot hou hongun lang hungpot un. Chutileh khat cheh in na lengpi theiga cheh naki neh diu, theiga natheiga phunguva kon'a nakilo diu, chuleh na twikul uva na twi cheh u naki don diu ahi.

Chuteng leh hitobang gam dang khatna pui dinga kagon ding-chang leh lengpitwi umna gam, changlhah leh lengpi lei umna gam.
18 [Beware] lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The LORD will deliver us. Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
“Hezekiah in, 'Pakai in eihuhdoh diu ahi!' tia aseichu kilhep lhah sah hih un. Chidang namdang pathen hon amiteu Assyria lengpa akon ahuhdoh khah mong uvem?
19 Where [are] the gods of Hamath and Arpad? where [are] the gods of Sepharvaim? and have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?
Hamath leh Arpad pathen chu ipi tia hitam? Chuleh Sepharvaim pathen ho chu itiuva hitam? Koi pathenin Samaria chu kathunei na'a kon'a ahung huhdoh khah em?
20 Who [are they] among all the gods of these lands, that have delivered their land out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?
Koi chidang namdang pathen hileh ka thanei na'a kon'a amite ahung huhdoh thei khah uvem? Pakai in Jerusalem chu keija konin hin huhdoh thei inte tia lunggel na neiju ham?”
21 But they held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king's commandment was, saying, Answer him not.
Ahin mipi chu athipchet jengun chuleh thucheng khat jong a uhpoh pouve. Ajehchu Hezekiah in thupeh ananei jin, “Ana donbut hih un,” ati ahi.
22 Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, that [was] over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder, to Hezekiah with [their] clothes rent, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.
