Isaiah 3
1 For behold, the LORD, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the rod and the staff, the whole support of bread, and the whole support of water,
Porque, he aquí, el Señor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, quita a Jerusalén y a Judá el suministro y el apoyo, todo el suministro de pan, y todo el suministro de agua;
2 The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
el hombre poderoso, el hombre de la guerra, el juez, el profeta, el adivino, el mayor,
3 The captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counselor, and the skillful artificer, and the eloquent orator.
el capitán de cincuenta, el hombre honorable, el consejero, el artesano experto, y el inteligente hechicero.
4 And I will give children [to be] their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
Daré muchachos para que sean sus príncipes, y los niños gobernarán sobre ellos.
5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself proudly against the elder, and the base against the honorable.
El pueblo será oprimido, todos por otro, y cada uno por su vecino. El niño se comportará con orgullo frente al anciano, y los malvados contra los honorables.
6 When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, [saying], Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and [let] this ruin [be] under thy hand:
En efecto, un hombre se apoderará de su hermano en la casa de su padre, diciendo, “Tienes ropa, serás nuestro gobernante, y que esta ruina esté bajo tu mano”.
7 In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be a healer; for in my house [is] neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
En ese día gritará diciendo: “No seré un sanador; porque en mi casa no hay ni pan ni ropa. No me harás gobernante del pueblo”.
8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings [are] against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
Porque Jerusalén está arruinada y Judá ha caído; porque su lengua y sus acciones son contra Yahvé, para provocar los ojos de su gloria.
9 The show of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide [it] not. Woe to their soul! for they have rewarded evil to themselves.
La mirada de sus rostros atestigua contra ellos. Hacen alarde de su pecado como Sodoma. No lo ocultan. ¡Ay de su alma! Porque ellos mismos han provocado el desastre.
10 Say ye to the righteous, that [it shall be] well [with him]: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
Di a los justos que les irá bien, porque comerán el fruto de sus actos.
11 Woe to the wicked! [it shall be] ill [with him]: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
¡Ay de los malvados! El desastre está sobre ellos, porque las obras de sus manos les serán devueltas.
12 [As for] my people, children [are] their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they who lead thee cause [thee] to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
En cuanto a mi pueblo, los niños son sus opresores, y las mujeres gobiernan sobre ellos. Pueblo mío, los que te dirigen te hacen errar, y destruir el camino de tus senderos.
13 The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
Yahvé se levanta para contender, y está en pie para juzgar a los pueblos.
14 The LORD will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and with their princes: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor [is] in your houses.
El Señor entrará en juicio con los ancianos de su pueblo y sus líderes: “Sois vosotros los que os habéis comido la viña. El botín de los pobres está en vuestras casas.
15 What mean ye [that] ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the LORD God of hosts.
¿Qué quieres decir con que aplastas a mi pueblo, y moler la cara de los pobres?” dice el Señor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos.
16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with extended necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing [as] they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
Además, Yahvé dijo: “Porque las hijas de Sion son arrogantes, y caminan con el cuello extendido y los ojos coquetos, caminando con delicadeza a medida que avanzan, adornos tintineantes en sus pies;
17 Therefore the LORD will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will uncover their secret parts.
por lo tanto, el Señor hace aparecer llagas en la coronilla de las mujeres de Sión, y Yahvé les dejará el cuero cabelludo calvo”.
18 In that day the LORD will take away the show of [their] tinkling ornaments [about their feet], and [their] cauls, and [their] round tires like the moon.
En aquel día el Señor les quitará la belleza de las tobilleras, las diademas, los collares de media luna,
19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
los pendientes, los brazaletes, los velos,
20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the head-bands, and the tablets, and the ear-rings,
los tocados, las cadenas de los tobillos, las fajas, los recipientes de perfume, los amuletos,
21 The rings, and nose-jewels,
los anillos de sello, los narigueros,
22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping-pins,
las túnicas finas, las capas, los bolsos,
23 The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
los espejos de mano, los vestidos de lino fino, las diademas y los chales.
24 And it shall come to pass, [that] instead of sweet smell there shall be an offensive odor; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; [and] burning instead of beauty.
Sucederá que en lugar de especias dulces, habrá podredumbre; en lugar de un cinturón, una cuerda; en lugar de un pelo bien cuajado, la calvicie; en lugar de una túnica, una vestimenta de arpillera; y la marca en lugar de la belleza.
25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
Tus hombres caerán por la espada, y su poderío en la guerra.
26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she [being] desolate, shall sit upon the ground.
Suspuertas se lamentarán y llorarán. Será desolada y se sentará en el suelo.
