< Isaiah 29 >
1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city [where] David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
Ko e malaʻia ki ʻAliela, ki ʻAliela, ʻae kolo naʻe nofo ai ʻa Tevita! Fakalahi ʻae tau ki he tau; tuku ke nau tāmateʻi ʻae ngaahi feilaulau.
2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow; and it shall be to me as Ariel.
Ka te u fakamamahiʻi ʻa ʻAliela, pea ʻe ʻi ai ʻae ongosia mo e mamahi: pea ʻe pehē ia kiate au ʻo hangē ko e potu ʻoe feilaulauʻanga.
3 And I will encamp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee.
Pea te u takatakai koe pea kāpui koe ʻaki ʻae moʻunga, pea te u langa ʻae ngaahi kolo kiate koe.
4 And thou shalt be brought down, [and] shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.
Pea ʻe fakavaivaiʻi koe, pea te ke lea mei he kelekele, pea ʻe māʻulalo ho leʻo mei he efu, pea ʻe tatau ho leʻo mo ha taha ʻoku ʻiate ia ha laumālie kovi, mei he kelekele, pea ʻe fafana ho leʻo mei he efu.
5 Moreover, the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones [shall be] as chaff that passeth away: yes, it shall be at an instant suddenly.
Pea ko e tokolahi ʻo hoʻo kau muli te nau hangē ko e efuefu momo iiki, pea mo e tokolahi ʻoe kakai fakamanavahē te nau hangē ko e kafukafu ʻoku mole atu: ʻio, ʻe hoko fakafokifā ia ʻi he kemo pe taha.
6 Thou shalt be visited by the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.
ʻE ʻaʻahi kiate koe ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau ʻaki ʻae mana, pea mo e mofuike, mo e longoaʻa lahi, ʻaki ʻae matangi lahi mo e afā, pea mo e ulo ʻoe afi fakaʻauha.
7 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night-vision.
Pea ko e tokolahi ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē ʻoku tauʻi ʻa ʻAliela, ʻio, ko kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku tauʻi ia mo ʻene kolo, pea ʻoku fakamamahiʻi ia, te nau hangē ko ha misi, pe ko e meʻa hā mai ʻi he pō.
8 It shall even be as when a hungry [man] dreameth, and behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and behold, [he is] faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.
ʻO hangē ko e misi ʻae tangata fiekaia, pea vakai, ʻoku hangē ʻoku ne kai; pea ʻoka ʻā ia, ʻoku ngaongao hono laumālie: pe hangē ko e misi ʻa ha tangata fieinu, pea vakai, hangē ʻoku inu ia; ka ʻoku ne ʻaa, pea vakai, ʻoku vaivai ia, pea ʻoku ne holi: ʻe pehē pe ʻae tokolahi ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē, ʻoku tauʻi ʻae moʻunga ko Saione.
9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
Mou tatali, pea ofo; mou kalanga, pea tangi: ʻoku nau konā, kae ʻikai ʻi he uaine; ʻoku nau tasipa, kae ʻikai ʻi he inu mālohi.
10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
He kuo lilingi ʻe Sihova kiate kimoutolu ʻae laumālie ʻoe mohe maʻu, pea kuo tāpuni homou mata: kuo ne fakapulou ʻae kau palōfita mo hoʻomou kau pule mo e kau kikite.
11 And the vision of all is become to you as the words of a book that is sealed, which [men] deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it [is] sealed:
Pea ko e meʻa hā mai kotoa pē kuo hoko kiate kimoutolu ʻo tatau mo e ngaahi lea ʻo ha tohi kuo tāpuni, ʻoku ʻange ʻe ha tangata ki ha tokotaha ʻoku poto, ʻo pehē, “ʻOku ou kole kiate koe, ke ke lau ʻae meʻa ni,” pea ʻoku ne pehē, “ʻOku ʻikai te u faʻa fai ia he kuo maʻu ia;”
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
Pea ʻoku ʻatu ʻae tohi kiate ia ʻoku ʻikai poto, ʻo pehē, ʻOku ou kole kiate koe, ke ke lau ʻae meʻa ni: pea ʻoku ne pehē, “ʻOku ʻikai te u poto.”
13 Wherefore the LORD said, Forasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear towards me is taught by the precept of men:
Ko ia ne pehē ai ʻe Sihova, ko e meʻa ʻi he ʻunuʻunu mai ʻae kakai ni kiate au ʻaki honau ngutu, pea fakaʻapaʻapa kiate au ʻaki honau loungutu, ka kuo mamaʻo honau loto ʻiate au, pea ko ʻenau manavahē kiate au ʻoku tupu ia mei he ngaahi fekau ʻae tangata pe:
14 Therefore behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, [even] an astonishing work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise [men] shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent [men] shall be hid.
Ko ia, vakai, te u fai leva ha ngāue fakaofo ki he kakai ni, ʻio, ʻae ngāue fakaofo mo lahi: he ko e poto ʻo ʻenau kau tangata poto ʻe ʻauha ia, pea ko e ʻilo ʻo ʻenau kau tangata fakamākukanga ʻe fufū ia.
15 Woe to them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
ʻE malaʻia ʻakinautolu ʻoku ʻahiʻahi lahi ke fufūnaki honau loto meia Sihova, pea ʻoku fai ʻi he poʻuli ʻenau ngaahi ngāue, pea ʻoku nau pehē, “Ko hai ʻoku mamata kiate kitautolu? Pea ko hai ʻoku ne ʻiloʻi ʻakitautolu?”
16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
Ko e moʻoni ko hoʻomou fulifulihi ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻe tatau mo e ʻumea ʻoe tangata ngaohi ipu: he ʻe lea pehē koā ʻae meʻa kuo ngaohi kiate ia naʻa ne fakatufungaʻi, naʻe ʻikai te ne ngaohi au? Pe, ʻe pehē ʻae meʻa kuo ngaohi kiate ia naʻe ngaohi ia, naʻe ʻikai haʻane ʻilo?
17 [Is] it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
ʻIkai ʻoku toetoe siʻi pea ʻe liliu ʻa Lepanoni ke hoko ko e ngoue fua moʻui, pea ko e ngoue fua ʻe tatau ia mo e vao ʻakau?
18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
Pea ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ʻe fanongo ʻae tuli ki he ngaahi lea ʻoe tohi, pea ʻe mamata ʻae mata ʻoe kui mei he kakapu, pea mei he poʻuli.
19 The meek also shall increase [their] joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
Pea ʻe ʻāsili ai ʻae fiefia ʻae angavaivai ʻia Sihova, pea ko e masiva ʻi he kakai te nau fiefia ʻi he tokotaha māʻoniʻoni ʻo ʻIsileli.
20 For the terrible one is brought to naught, and the scoffer is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
He kuo mole ʻae tokotaha naʻe fakamālohi, pea kuo ʻauha mo e tangata manuki, pea kuo tuʻusi ke motu ʻakinautolu ʻoku lama ke fai kovi.
21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of naught.
ʻOku nau fakahalaia ha tangata ʻi he kupuʻi lea, pea ʻoku nau tau ʻae tauhele kiate ia ʻoku valoki ʻi he matapā, pea fakaafe ʻae angatonu ʻi he meʻa taʻeʻaonga.
22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now become pale.
Ko ia ʻoku pehē ai ʻe Sihova, ʻaia naʻa ne huhuʻi ʻa ʻEpalahame, ki he fale ʻo Sēkope, ʻe ʻikai mā ʻa Sēkope, pea ʻe ʻikai liliu ʻo tea hono mata.
23 But when he seeth his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
Ka ʻi heʻene mamata ki heʻene fānau, ko e ngāue ʻa hoku nima, ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo ia, te nau fakaʻapaʻapa ki hoku huafa, pea fakaʻapaʻapa ki he tokotaha māʻoniʻoni ʻo Sēkope, pea manavahē ki he ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli.
24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
Pea ko kinautolu foki naʻe hala ʻi he laumālie te nau hoko ʻo ʻilo, pea ko kinautolu naʻe lāunga te nau maʻu ʻae akonaki.
