Isaiah 28
1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty [is] a fading flower; who [are] on the head of the rich valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
Ai da coroa de arrogância dos bêbados de Efraim, cujo belo ornamento é [como] uma flor que murcha, que está sobre a cabeça do vale fértil dos derrotados pelo vinho.
2 Behold, the LORD hath a mighty and strong one, [which] as a tempest of hail [and] a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.
Eis que o Senhor tem um valente e poderoso, [que vem] como tempestade de granizo, tormenta destruidora; e como tempestade de impetuosas águas que inundam; com [sua] mão ele [os] derrubará em terra.
3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under feet.
A coroa de arrogância dos bêbados de Efraim será pisada sob os pés.
4 And the glorious beauty, which [is] on the head of the rich valley, shall be a fading flower, [and] as the early fruit before the summer; which, [when] he that looketh upon it, seeth while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
E o seu belo ornamento, que está sobre a cabeça do vale fértil, será como a flor que murcha; como o primeiro fruto antes do verão, que, quando alguém o vê, pega e o come.
5 In that day will the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, to the residue of his people,
Naquele dia o SENHOR dos exércitos será por coroa gloriosa, e por bela tiara, para os restantes de seu povo;
6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
E por espírito de juízo, para o que se senta para julgar, e por fortaleza aos que fazem a batalha recuar até a porta [da cidade].
7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are overwhelmed with wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble [in] judgment.
Mas também estes vacilam com o vinho, e com a bebida alcoólica perdem o caminho: o sacerdote e o profeta vacilam com a bebida alcoólica, foram consumidos pelo vinho; perdem o caminho pela bebida forte, andam confusos na visão, [e] tropeçam no ato de julgar;
8 For all tables are full of vomit [and] filthiness, [so that there is] no place [clean].
Pois todas as [suas] mesas estão cheias de vômito; não há lugar que não haja imundície.
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts.
A quem ele ensinará o conhecimento? E a quem se explicará a mensagem? A bebês recém-desmamados de leite, tirados dos peitos?
10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little:
Pois [tudo] tem sido mandamento sobre mandamento, mandamento sobre mandamento, regra sobre regra, regra sobre regra; um pouco aqui, um pouco ali.
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Pois por lábios estranhos e por língua estrangeira se falará a este povo;
12 To whom he said, This [is] the rest [with which] ye may cause the weary to rest; and this [is] the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
Ao qual dissera: Este é o [lugar de] descanso; dai descanso ao cansado; e este é o repouso; porém não quiseram ouvir.
13 But the word of the LORD was to them, precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Assim, pois, a palavra do SENHOR lhes será mandamento sobre mandamento, mandamento sobre mandamento, regra sobre regra, regra sobre regra; um pouco aqui, um pouco ali; para que vão, e caiam para trás, e se quebrem, e sejam enlaçados e capturados.
14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which [is] in Jerusalem.
Portanto ouvi a palavra do SENHOR, vós homens escarnecedores, dominadores deste povo, que está em Jerusalém;
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we in agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not reach us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: (Sheol h7585)
Pois dizeis: Fizemos um pacto com a morte, e com o Xeol fizemos um acordo: quando passar a abundância de açoites, não chegará a nós; pois pusemos a mentira como nosso refúgio, e sob a falsidade nos escondemos. (Sheol h7585)
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Por isso, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Eis que eu fundo em Sião uma pedra; uma pedra provada, pedra preciosa de esquina, firmemente fundada; quem crer, não precisará fugir às pressas.
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding-place.
E porei o juízo como linha de medida, e a justiça como prumo; o granizo varrerá o refúgio da mentira, e as águas inundarão o esconderijo;
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. (Sheol h7585)
E vosso pacto com a morte se anulará, e vosso acordo com o Xeol não será cumprido; e quando a abundância de açoites passar, então por ela sereis esmagados. (Sheol h7585)
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only [to] understand the report.
Logo que começar a passar, ela vos tomará, porque todas as manhãs passará, de dia e de noite; e será que só de ser dada a notícia, [já] haverá aflição.
20 For the bed is shorter than that [a man] can stretch himself [on it]: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself [in it].
Porque a cama será tão curta, que [ninguém] poderá se estender nela; e o cobertor tão estreito, que [ninguém] poderá se cobrir com ele.
21 For the LORD will rise as [on] mount Perazim, he will be wroth as [in] the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
Porque o SENHOR se levantará como no monte de Perazim, e se enfurecerá como no vale de Gibeão, para fazer sua obra, sua estranha obra; e operar seu ato, seu estranho ato.
22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the LORD God of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
Agora, pois, não escarneçais, para que vossas cordas não vos prendam com ainda mais força; pois eu ouvi do Senhor DEUS dos exércitos sobre uma destruição que já foi determinada sobre toda a terra.
23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
Inclinai os ouvidos, e ouvi minha voz; prestai atenção, e ouvi o que eu digo.
24 Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground?
Por acaso o lavrador lavra o dia todo para semear, [ou] fica [o dia todo] abrindo e revolvendo a sua terra?
25 When he hath made even the face of it, doth he not cast abroad the vetches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat, and the appointed barley, and the rye in their place?
Quando ele já igualou sua superfície, por acaso ele não espalha endro, e derrama cominho, ou lança do melhor trigo, ou cevada escolhida, ou centeio, [cada qual] em seu lugar?
26 For his God doth instruct him to discretion, [and] doth teach him.
Pois seu Deus o ensina, instruindo sobre o que se deve fazer.
27 For the vetches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart-wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the vetches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.
Porque o endro não é debulhado com uma marreta pesada, nem sobre o cominho se passa por cima com uma roda de carroça; em vez disso, com uma vara se separa os grãos de endro, e com um pau os de cominho.
28 Bread -[corn] is bruised; because he will not always be threshing it, nor break [it with] the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it [with] his horsemen.
O trigo é triturado, mas não é batido para sempre; ainda que seja esmagado com as rodas de sua carroça, ele não é triturado com seus cavalos.
29 This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, [who] is wonderful in counsel, [and] excellent in operation.
Até isto procede do SENHOR dos exércitos. Ele é maravilhoso em conselhos, [e] grande em sabedoria.
