Hosea 7
1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was disclosed, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, [and] the troop of robbers strippeth without.
૧જ્યારે હું ઇઝરાયલને સાજો કરવા ઇચ્છતો હતો, ત્યારે એફ્રાઇમનાં પાપ, સમરુનનાં દુષ્ટ કૃત્યો પ્રગટ થયાં. કેમ કે તેઓ દગો કરે છે, ચોર અંદર ઘૂસીને, શેરીઓમાં લૂંટફાટ ચલાવે છે.
2 And they consider not in their hearts [that] I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them around; they are before my face.
૨તેઓ પોતાના મનમાં વિચાર કરતા જ નથી કે, તેઓનાં સર્વ દુષ્ટ કાર્યો મારા સ્મરણમાં છે. તેઓનાં પોતાનાં કાર્યોએ તેઓને ચારે તરફથી ઘેરી લીધા છે; તેઓ મારી નજર આગળ જ છે.
3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
૩તેઓની પોતાની દુષ્ટતાથી રાજાને, પોતાનાં જૂઠાણાંથી સરદારોને રાજી કરે છે.
4 They [are] all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, [who] ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it is leavened.
૪તેઓ બધા જ વ્યભિચારીઓ છે; તેઓ ભઠિયારાએ સળગાવેલી ભઠ્ઠી જેવા છે, લોટને મસળે ત્યારથી તેને ખમીર ચઢે ત્યાં સુધી આગને બંધ કરે છે.
5 In the day of our king the princes have made [him] sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.
૫અમારા રાજાના જન્મ દિવસે સરદારો મદ્યપાનની ગરમીથી માંદા પડ્યા છે. તેણે હાંસી ઉડાવનારાઓ સાથે સહવાસ રાખ્યો છે.
6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
૬કેમ કે પોતાનું હૃદય ભઠ્ઠીની જેમ તૈયાર કરીને, તેઓ કપટભરી યોજના ઘડે છે. તેઓનો ક્રોધ આખી રાત બળતો રહે છે; સવારમાં તે અગ્નિના ભડકાની પેઠે બળે છે.
7 They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: [there is] none among them that calleth to me.
૭તેઓ બધા ભઠ્ઠીની જેમ ગરમ છે, તેઓ પોતાના ન્યાયાધીશોને ભસ્મ કરી જાય છે. તેઓના બધા રાજાઓ માર્યા ગયા છે; તેઓમાંનો કોઈ મને વિનંતી કરતો નથી.
8 Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
૮એફ્રાઇમ વિવિધ લોકો સાથે ભળી જાય છે, તે તો ફેરવ્યા વગરની પૂરી જેવો છે.
9 Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth [it] not: yes, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.
૯પરદેશીઓએ તેનું બળ નષ્ટ કર્યું છે, પણ તે તે જાણતો નથી. તેના માથાના વાળ સફેદ થયા છે, પણ તે જાણતો નથી.
10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.
૧૦ઇઝરાયલનું ગર્વ તેની વિરુદ્ધ સાક્ષી આપે છે; તેમ છતાં, તેઓ યહોવાહ પોતાના ઈશ્વરની પાસે પાછા આવ્યા નથી, આ બધું છતાં, તેઓએ તેમને શોધ્યા પણ નથી.
11 Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
૧૧એફ્રાઇમ મૂર્ખ કબૂતરનાં જેવો ભોળો છે, મિસરને બોલાવે છે, તેઓ આશ્શૂરની તરફ જાય છે.
12 When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.
૧૨જ્યારે તેઓ જશે, ત્યારે હું તેઓના પર મારી જાળ પાથરીશ, હું તેઓને આકાશના પક્ષીઓની જેમ નીચે લાવીશ. તેઓની જમાતને કહી સંભળાવ્યું તે પ્રમાણે હું તેઓને સજા કરીશ.
13 Woe to them! for they have fled from me: destruction to them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
૧૩તેઓને અફસોસ! કેમ કે તેઓ મારી પાસેથી ભટકી ગયા છે. તેઓનો નાશ થાઓ! તેઓએ મારી વિરુદ્ધ બંડ કર્યું છે. હું તેઓને બચાવવા ઇચ્છતો હતો, પણ તેઓએ મારી વિરુદ્ધ જૂઠી વાતો કરી છે.
14 And they have not cried to me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, [and] they rebel against me.
૧૪તેઓ પોતાના હૃદયથી મને પોકારતા નથી, પણ તેઓ પથારીમાં પડ્યા પડ્યા વિલાપ કરે છે. તેઓ અનાજ અને દ્રાક્ષારસ મેળવવા પોતાના પર પ્રહાર કરે છે, તેઓ મારાથી પાછા ફરે છે.
15 Though I have bound [and] strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.
૧૫મેં તેઓના હાથોને તાલીમ આપીને બળવાન કર્યા છે, છતાં પણ તેઓ મારી વિરુદ્ધ ઈજા કરવાની યોજના કરે છે.
16 They return, [but] not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this [shall be] their derision in the land of Egypt.
૧૬તેઓ પાછા આવે છે, પણ તેઓ મારી તરફ, એટલે આકાશવાસી તરફ પાછા ફરતા નથી. તેઓ નિશાન ચૂકી જનાર ધનુષ્ય જેવા છે. તેઓના સરદારો પોતાની તોછડી જીભને કારણે તલવારથી નાશ પામશે. આ કારણે મિસર દેશમાં તેઓની મશ્કરી થશે.
