Hosea 3

1 Then said the LORD to me, Go yet, love a woman beloved by [her] friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD towards the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

യഹോവ എന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചു: “നിന്റെ ഭാര്യ മറ്റൊരുവനാൽ സ്നേഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവളും വ്യഭിചാരിണിയും ആയിരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും, നീ പോയി അവളോടു നിന്റെ സ്നേഹം കാണിക്കുക. ഇസ്രായേൽജനം അന്യദേവന്മാരിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു മുന്തിരിയടകളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും, യഹോവ അവരെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നീ അവളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുക.”

2 So I bought her to me for fifteen [pieces] of silver, and [for] a homer of barley, and a half homer of barley:

അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ അവളെ പതിനഞ്ചുശേക്കേൽ വെള്ളിക്കും ഒന്നര ഹോമർ യവത്തിനും വിലയ്ക്കുവാങ്ങി.

3 And I said to her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for [another] man: so [will] I also [be] for thee.

ഞാൻ അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “നീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ ദീർഘകാലം പാർക്കണം; നീ ഒരു വേശ്യയായിരിക്കുകയോ ഒരു പുരുഷനോടും അടുപ്പം കാണിക്കുകയോ അരുത്; ഞാൻ നിന്നോടും അപ്രകാരംതന്നെ ആയിരിക്കും.”

4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and [without] teraphim:

രാജാവോ പ്രഭുവോ ഇല്ലാതെ ഇസ്രായേൽജനം ദീർഘകാലം ജീവിക്കേണ്ടിവരും. യാഗമില്ലാതെയും ആചാരസ്തൂപങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാതെയും ഏഫോദില്ലാതെയും ഗൃഹബിംബമില്ലാതെയും ദീർഘകാലം ജീവിക്കും.

5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

പിന്നീട് ഇസ്രായേൽജനം മടങ്ങിവന്ന്, തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെയും തങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവായ ദാവീദിനെയും അന്വേഷിക്കും. അന്ത്യനാളുകളിൽ അവർ ഭയന്നുവിറച്ചുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കും അവിടത്തെ നന്മയിലേക്കും മടങ്ങിവരും.
