Hosea 3

1 Then said the LORD to me, Go yet, love a woman beloved by [her] friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD towards the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

L’Eternel me dit encore: "Va derechef, accorde ton amour à une femme qui est aimée d’un autre et coupable d’adultère, tout comme Dieu aime les enfants d’Israël tandis qu’ils se tournent, eux, vers des dieux étrangers et raffolent de gâteaux de raisin.

2 So I bought her to me for fifteen [pieces] of silver, and [for] a homer of barley, and a half homer of barley:

Je m’acquis cette femme pour quinze pièces d’argent, un homer plus un létec d’orge.

3 And I said to her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for [another] man: so [will] I also [be] for thee.

Et je lui dis: "Tu me demeureras fidèle pendant de longs jours, sans te débaucher ni appartenir à aucun homme, de même en userai-je à ton égard."

4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and [without] teraphim:

Car de longs jours, les enfants d’Israël demeureront isolés sans roi ni chef, sans sacrifice ni stèle, sans Ephod ni Pénates.

5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

Après cela, les enfants d’Israël se remettront à rechercher l’Eternel, leur Dieu, et David, leur roi; ils accourront, le cœur ému, auprès de l’Eternel et de sa grâce, dans la suite des temps.
