Ezra 5
1 Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews that [were] in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, [even] to them.
तब हाग्गै अगमवक्ता र इद्दोका छोरा जकरिया अगमवक्ताले इस्राएलका परमेश्वरको नाउँमा यहूदा र यरूशलेमका यहूदीहरूलाई अगमवाणी बोले ।
2 Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which [is] at Jerusalem: and with them [were] the prophets of God helping them.
शालतिएलका छोरा यरुबाबेल र योसादाकका छोरा येशूअ उठे, र आफ्ना सहयोगी अगमवक्ताहरूका साथमा मिलेर यरूशलेममा परमेश्वरको मन्दिर बनाउन सुरु गरे ।
3 At the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side of the river, and Shethar-boznai, and their companions, and said thus to them, Who hath commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall?
तब यूफ्रेटिस नदीपारिको प्रान्तका गभर्नर तत्तनै, शत्तर-बोज्नै र तिनका सहयोगीहरू आए र तिनीहरूलाई सोधे, “यो मन्दिरको निर्माण गर्ने र पर्खालहरू सम्पन्न गर्ने आज्ञा तिमीहरूलाई कसले दियो?”
4 Then said we to them after this manner, What are the names of the men that make this building?
तिनीहरूले यसो पनि भने, “यो भवनलाई बनाउने मानिसका नाउँहरू के-के हुन्?”
5 But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, that they could not cause them to cease, till the matter came to Darius: and then they returned answer by letter concerning this [matter].
तर परमेश्वरको दृष्टि यहूदी धर्म-गुरुहरूमाथि थियो, र तिनीहरूका शत्रुहरूले तिनीहरूलाई रोक्न सकेनन् । राजाकहाँ एउटा चिट्ठी पठाउने र त्यसको जवाफमा एउटा आदेश आउने काम नहुन्जेलसम्म तिनीहरूलाई कसैले रोकेन ।
6 The copy of the letter that Tatnai, governor on this side of the river, and Shethar-boznai, and his companions the Apharsachites, who [were] on this side of the river, sent to Darius the king:
यो यूफ्रेटिस नदीपारिको प्रान्तका राज्यपाल तत्तनै, शत्तर-बोज्नै र तिनीहरूका सहयोगीहरूले दारा राजालाई पठाएका चिट्ठीको प्रतिलिपी यही हो ।
7 They sent a letter to him, in which was written thus; To Darius the king, all peace.
तिनीहरूले लेखेर दारा राजालाई पठाएको विवरण यही हो, “हजुरमा अपार शान्ति रहोस् ।
8 Be it known to the king, that we went into the province of Judea, to the house of the great God, which is built with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work proceedeth rapidly, and prospereth in their hands.
हामी यहूदामा महान् परमेश्वरको मन्दिरमा गयौं भन्ने कुरा हजुरलाई जाहेर होस् । ठुला-ठुला ढुङ्गाहरूले यो निर्माण हुँदैछ र पर्खालमा काठहरू राखिंदैछन् । यो काम निकै राम्रोसँग गरिएको छ, र तिनीहरूका हातमा राम्ररी अगाडि बढिरहेको छ ।
9 Then we asked those elders, [and] said to them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to erect these walls?
हामीले धर्म-गुरुहरूलाई सोध्यौं, 'यो मन्दिर र यी पर्खालहरू बनाउन तिमीहरूलाई कसले आदेश दियो?'
10 We asked their names also, to certify thee, that we might write the names of the men that [were] the chief of them.
कस-कसले तिनीहरूलाई अगुवाइ गरेका रहेछन् भनी हजुरलाई थाहा होस् भनेर हामीले तिनीहरूका नाउँ पनि सोध्यौं ।
11 And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and build the house that was erected these many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and set up.
तिनीहरूले जवाफ दिए र भने, 'हामी स्वर्ग र पृथ्वीका परमेश्वरका सेवकहरू हौं, र हामीले यस मन्दिरलाई पुनर्निर्माण गरिरहेका छौं जसलाई धेरै वर्ष पहिले इस्राएलका महान् राजाले निर्माण गरेका र पुरा गरेका थिए ।
12 But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven to wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.
तापनि जब हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूले स्वर्गका परमेश्वरलाई रिस उठाए, तब उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई बेबिलोनका कल्दी राजा नबूकदनेसरको हातमा सुम्पनुभयो जसले यस मन्दिरलाई नष्ट पारे र मानिसहरूलाई बेबिलोनमा कैदमा लगे ।
13 But in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon, [the same] king Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God.
तापनि कोरेस बेबिलोनका राजा बन्नुभएको पहिलो वर्षमा कोरेसले परमेश्वरको मन्दिर पुनर्निर्माण गर्ने आदेश जारी गर्नुभयो ।
14 And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that [was] in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered to [one], whose name [was] Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
नबूकदनेसरले यरूशलेमको मन्दिरबाट बेबिलोनको मन्दिरमा लगेका परमेश्वरको मन्दिरका सुन र चाँदीका वस्तुहरू पनि राजा कोरेसले फिर्ता गरिदिए । आफूले गभर्नर बनाएका शेशबस्सरलाई उहाँले यी थोकहरू दिनुभयो ।
15 And said to him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple that [is] in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be built in its place.
राजाले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “यी थोकहरू लैजाऊ । जाऊ र ति यरूशलेमको मन्दिरमा राख । त्यहाँ परमेश्वरको मन्दिर पुनर्निमाण होस् ।”
16 Then came the same Sheshbazzar, [and] laid the foundation of the house of God which [is] in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now hath it been in building, and [yet] it is not finished.
तब यिनै शेशबस्सर आए र यरूशलेममा परमेश्वरको मन्दिरको जग बसाले । अनि अहिले यो निर्माण हुँदैछ, तर अझै सकिएको छैन ।'
17 Now therefore, if it [seemeth] good to the king, let there be search made in the king's treasure-house, which [is] there at Babylon, whether it is [so], that a decree was made by Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.
अब राजाको हजुरीमा असल लागेमा, राजा कोरेसले यरूशलेममा परमेश्वरको मन्दिर बनाउन आज्ञा दिनुभएको थियो कि थिएन भनी बेबिलोनको अभिलेख संग्रहमा अनुसन्धान होस् । त्यसपछि राजाबाट हामीलाई आफ्नो निर्णय पठाउने कष्ट होस् ।”
