< Ezekiel 28 >

1 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,
Naʻe toe hoko foki ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻo pehē,
2 Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy heart [is] lifted up, and thou hast said, I [am] a god, I sit [in] the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou [art] a man, and not God, though thou settest thy heart as the heart of God:
“Foha ʻoe tangata, ke ke lea ki he tuʻi ʻo Taia, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; Koeʻuhi kuo hiki hake ho loto, pea kuo ke pehē, ‘Ko e ʻotua au,’ ʻoku ou nofo ʻi he nofoʻanga ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻi he loto tahi; ka ko e tangata pe ʻa koe, ka ʻoku ʻikai ko e ʻOtua, neongo hoʻo ʻai ho loto ke ke hangē ko e ʻOtua:
3 Behold, thou [art] wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:
Vakai, ʻoku ke poto hake ʻia Taniela; ʻoku ʻikai ha meʻa lilo te nau faʻa fufū meiate koe:
4 With thy wisdom and with thy understanding thou hast gained for thee riches, and hast gained gold and silver into thy treasures:
Ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻo poto mo hoʻo faʻa ʻilo, kuo ke maʻu ʻe koe ʻae koloa lahi, pea kuo ke tānaki ʻae koula mo e siliva, ki he tukuʻanga koloa:
5 By thy great wisdom [and] by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thy heart is lifted up because of thy riches:
Ko e meʻa ʻi he lahi ʻo hoʻo poto, pea mo hoʻo faʻa fakatau, kuo ke fakalahi ai ʻa hoʻo koloa, pea kuo hiki hake ho loto koeʻuhi ko hoʻo koloaʻia.
6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thy heart as the heart of God;
Ko ia ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua koeʻuhi kuo ke ʻai ho loto ke ke hangē ko ha ʻOtua;
7 Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.
Vakai, ko ia te u ʻomi ai kiate koe ʻae kau muli, ʻae kau mālohi mei he ngaahi puleʻanga: pea te nau toho ʻenau heletā ki he toulekeleka ʻo hoʻo poto, pea te nau fakaʻuliʻi hoʻo ngingila.
8 They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of [them that are] slain in the midst of the seas.
Te nau fakahifo koe ki lalo ki he luo, pea te ke mate ʻi he mateʻanga ʻonautolu ʻoku mate tāmateʻi ʻi loto tahi.
9 Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I [am] God? but thou [shalt be] a man, and no god, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.
‌ʻIkai te ke pehē pe ʻi he ʻao ʻo ia te ne tāmateʻi koe, Ko e ʻOtua au? Ka ko e tangata pe koe, ka ʻe ʻikai te ke ʻOtua, ʻi he nima ʻo ia te ne tāmateʻi koe.
10 Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken [it], saith the Lord GOD.
Te ke mate ʻi he mateʻanga ʻo ha taha taʻekamu, ʻi he nima ʻoe kau muli: he ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ko au ia, kuo lea ki ai.”
11 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Naʻe hoko foki ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻo pehē,
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
“Foha ʻoe tangata, ke ke tangilāulau koeʻuhi ko e tuʻi ʻo Taia, pea ke pehē ki ai, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; kuo ke ngaohi ho fakatātā, ʻi he poto, mo e toulekeleka haohaoa.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone [was] thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Kuo ke ʻi ʻIteni ko e ngoue ʻae ʻOtua naʻe ʻuʻufi ʻaki koe ʻae maka koloa kotoa pē, ʻae satiose, mo e topasi, mo e taiamoni, mo e pelili, mo e onikisi, mo e sasipa, mo e safaia, mo e ʻemalata, mo e kaponika, pea mo e koula: ʻi he ʻaho naʻe fanauʻi ai koe, naʻe teuteu ʻae teunga ʻo hoʻo ngaahi meʻatatangi mo hoʻo ngaahi meʻaifi ʻiate koe.
14 Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
‌ʻOku ke hangē koe ko e Selupi ʻoku fakamalumalu mei ʻolunga; kuo u ʻai koe ʻeau ke ke pehē: naʻa ke ʻi he moʻunga tapu ʻoe ʻOtua; kuo ke feʻaluʻaki ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi maka afi.
15 Thou [wast] perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Naʻa ke haohaoa ʻi ho hala mei ho fanauʻi ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho naʻe ʻilo ai ʻiate koe ʻae angahala.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
Ko e meʻa ʻi hono lahi ʻo hoʻo fai fakatau kuo nau fakapito koe ʻi he fakamālohi, pea kuo ke fai hala: ko ia ia te u liʻaki ai koe mei he moʻunga tapu ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻo hangē ko ha taha fakalielia: pea te u fakaʻauha koe, ʻa koe ko e selupi ʻoku lolofa mai, mei he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi maka afi.
17 Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
Naʻe hiki ho loto ko e meʻa ʻi ho toulekeleka, pea kuo ke maumauʻi hoʻo poto ko e meʻa ʻi ho nāunauʻia: te u lī hifo koe ki he kelekele, te u fakatōkilalo koe ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi tuʻi, koeʻuhi ke nau mamata kiate koe.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thy iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
Kuo ke fakalieliaʻi ho ngaahi fale tapu ʻi he lahi ʻo hoʻo fai hala, mo e kovi ʻa hoʻo fai fakatau; ko ia te u ʻomi ʻae afi mei loto ʻiate koe, pea te ne fakaʻauha koe, te u liliu koe ko e efuefu ʻi he funga ʻo māmani ʻi he ʻao ʻonautolu kotoa pē ʻoku siofia koe.
19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt] thou [be] any more.
‌ʻE ofo kiate koe ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻi he kakai ʻoku ʻiloʻi koe: te ke hoko ko e meʻa fakailifia, pea ʻe ʻikai te ke kei ʻi ai ʻo taʻengata.”
20 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Naʻe toe hoko foki ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻo pehē,
21 Son of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it,
“Foha ʻoe tangata, fakahanga ho mata ki Saitone, pea ke kikite ki ai,
22 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I [am] against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.
Pea ke lea, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; Vakai, ʻE Saitone, ʻoku ou tuʻu au kiate koe; pea ʻe fakaongoongoleleiʻi au ʻiate koe, pea te nau ʻilo ko au ko Sihova, ʻo kau ka fai ʻae fakamaau kiate ia, pea ka fakamāʻoniʻoniʻi au ʻiate ia.
23 For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.
He te u fekau atu kiate ia ʻae mahaki fakaʻauha, pea ʻe tafe ʻae toto ʻi hono ngaahi hala; pea ʻe tautea ʻaki ʻae heletā ʻi hono lotolotonga, pea mei he potu kotoa pē, ʻakinautolu kuo lavea; pea te nau ʻilo ai ko Sihova au.
24 And there shall be no more a pricking brier to the house of Israel, nor [any] grieving thorn of all [that are] around them, that despised them; and they shall know that I [am] the Lord GOD.
25 Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; “ʻO kau ka tānaki mai ʻae fale ʻo ʻIsileli, mei he kakai kuo nau movetevete atu ki ai, pea ka fakamāʻoniʻoniʻi au ʻi he ʻao ʻoe hiteni, te nau toki nofo ki honau fonua, ʻaia naʻaku foaki ki heʻeku tamaioʻeiki ko Sēkope.
26 And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them around them; and they shall know that I [am] the LORD their God.
Pea te nau nofo lelei pe ʻi ai, pea te nau langa fale, pea tō ngoue vaine; ʻio, te nau nofo fiemālie, ʻo kau ka fai ʻeau ʻae tautea kiate kinautolu ʻoku manukiʻi ʻakinautolu, ʻakinautolu ʻoku nofo takatakai ʻi ai; pea te nau ʻilo au, ko Sihova ko honau ʻOtua.
