Ezekiel 18
1 The word of the LORD came to me again, saying,
E veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:
2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?
Que tendes vós, vós que dizeis esta parábola da terra de Israel, dizendo: Os pais comeram uvas verdes, e os dentes dos filhos se embotaram?
3 [As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have [occasion] any more to use this proverb in Israel.
Vivo eu, diz o Senhor Jehovah, que nunca mais direis esta parábola em Israel.
4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Eis que todas as almas são minhas; como o é a alma do pai, assim também a alma do filho é minha: a alma que pecar, essa morrerá.
5 But if a man is just, and doeth that which is lawful and right,
Sendo pois o homem justo, e fazendo juízo e justiça,
6 [And] hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbor's wife, neither hath come near to a polluted woman,
Se não comer sobre os montes, nem levantar os seus olhos para os ídolos da casa de Israel, nem contaminar a mulher do seu próximo, nem se chegar à mulher na sua separação,
7 And hath not oppressed any, [but] hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath stripped none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment:
E se não oprimir a ninguém, tornando ao devedor o seu penhor, e se não fizer roubo, se der o seu pão ao faminto, e cobrir ao nu com vestido,
8 He [that] hath not given forth upon interest, neither hath taken any increase, [that] hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,
Se não der o seu dinheiro à usura, e não receber demais, se desviar a sua mão da injustiça, e fizer verdadeiro juízo entre homem e homem,
9 Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he [is] just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
Se andar nos meus estatutos, e guardar os meus juízos, para obrar segundo a verdade, o tal justo certamente viverá, diz o Senhor Jehovah.
10 If he begetteth a son [that is] a robber, a shedder of blood, and [that] doeth the like to [any] one of these [things],
E se ele gerar um filho ladrão, derramador de sangue, que fizer a seu irmão qualquer destas coisas;
11 And that doeth not any of those [duties], but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbor's wife,
E que não fizer todas as demais coisas, mas antes comer sobre os montes, e contaminar a mulher de seu próximo,
12 Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath stripped by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination.
Oprimir ao aflito e necessitado, fizer roubos, não tornar o penhor, e levantar os seus olhos para os ídolos, e fizer abominação,
13 Hath given forth upon interest, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
Der o seu dinheiro à usura, e receber demais, porventura viverá? Não viverá: todas estas abominações ele fez, certamente morrerá; o seu sangue será sobre ele.
14 Now lo, [if] he begetteth a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
E eis que, se também ele gerar filho que vir todos os pecados que seu pai fez, e, vendo-os, não cometer coisas semelhantes,
15 [That] hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbor's wife,
Não comer sobre os montes, e não levantar os seus olhos para os ídolos da casa de Israel, e não contaminar a mulher de seu próximo,
16 Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withheld the pledge, neither hath stripped by violence, [but] hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment,
E não oprimir a ninguém, e não retiver o penhor, e não fizer roubo, der o seu pão ao faminto, e cobrir ao nu com vestido,
17 [That] hath taken off his hand from the poor, [that] hath not received interest nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
Desviar do aflito a sua mão, não receber usura em demasia, fizer os meus juízos, e andar nos meus estatutos, o tal não morrerá pela maldade de seu pai; certamente viverá.
18 [As for] his father, because he cruelly oppressed, stripped his brother by violence, and did [that] which [is] not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.
Seu pai, porquanto fez opressão, roubou os bens do irmão, e fez o que não era bom no meio de seu povo, eis que ele morrerá pela sua maldade.
19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, [and] hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
Porém dizeis: Porque não levará o filho a maldade do pai? Porque o filho fez juízo e justiça, e guardou todos os meus estatutos, e os praticou, por isso certamente viverá.
20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
A alma que pecar, essa morrerá: o filho não levará a maldade do pai, nem o pai levará a maldade do filho: a justiça do justo será sobre ele, e a impiedade do ímpio será sobre ele.
21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Mas se o ímpio se converter de todos os seus pecados que cometeu, e guardar todos os meus estatutos, e fizer juízo e justiça, certamente viverá; não morrerá.
22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned to him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
De todas as suas transgressões que cometeu não haverá lembrança contra ele: pela sua justiça que praticou viverá.
23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: [and] not that he should return from his ways, and live?
Porventura de qualquer maneira desejaria eu a morte do ímpio? diz o Senhor Jehovah; porventura não desejo que se converta dos seus caminhos e viva?
24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, [and] doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked [man] doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
Mas, desviando-se o justo da sua justiça, e cometendo a iniquidade, fazendo conforme todas as abominações que faz o ímpio, porventura viveria? de todas as suas justiças que tiver feito não se fará memória: na sua transgressão com que transgrediu, e no seu pecado com que pecou, neles morrerá.
25 Yet ye say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
Dizeis, porém: O caminho do Senhor não é direito. Ouvi agora, ó casa de Israel: Porventura não são os vossos caminhos indiretos?
26 When a righteous [man] turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
Desviando-se o justo da sua justiça, e cometendo iniquidade, morrerá por ela: na sua iniquidade que cometeu morrerá.
27 Again, when a wicked [man] turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
Porém, convertendo-se o ímpio da sua impiedade que cometeu, e praticando o juízo e a justiça, conservará este a sua alma em vida.
28 Because he considereth and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Porquanto considera, e se converte de todas as suas transgressões que cometeu; certamente viverá, não morrerá.
29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the LORD is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
Contudo, diz a casa de Israel: O caminho do Senhor não é direito. Porventura os meus caminhos não serão direitos, ó casa de Israel? porventura não são os vossos caminhos indiretos?
30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn [yourselves] from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Portanto, eu vos julgarei, cada um conforme os seus caminhos, ó casa de Israel, diz o Senhor Jehovah: tornai-vos, e convertei-vos de todas as vossas transgressões, e a iniquidade não vos servirá de tropeço.
31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, by which ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Lançai de vós todas as vossas transgressões com que transgredistes, e fazei-vos um coração novo e um espírito novo; pois por que razão morrerieis, ó casa de Israel?
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn [ye], and live.
Porque não tomo prazer na morte do que morre, diz o Senhor Jehovah: convertei-vos, pois, e vivei.
