Exodus 37
1 And Bezaleel made the ark [of] shittim wood: two cubits and a half [was] the length of it, and a cubit and a half the breadth of it, and a cubit and a half the hight of it:
Or Béséléel fit aussi l’arche de bois de sétim, ayant deux coudées et demie en longueur, et une coudée et demie en largeur; la hauteur aussi était d’une coudée et demie; et il la revêtit d’un or très pur au dedans et au dehors.
2 And he overlaid it with pure gold within and without, and made a crown of gold to it round about.
Et il y fit une couronne d’or tout autour,
3 And he cast for it four rings of gold, [to be set] by the four corners of it; even two rings upon the one side of it, and two rings upon the other side of it.
Jetant en fonte quatre anneaux d’or pour les quatre coins de l’arche, deux à un côté et deux à l’autre.
4 And he made staffs [of] shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold.
Il fit aussi des leviers de bois de sétim, qu’il revêtit d’or,
5 And he put the staffs into the rings by the sides of the ark, to bear the ark.
Et qu’il passa dans les anneaux qui étaient aux côtés de l’arche pour la porter.
6 And he made the mercy-seat [of] pure gold: two cubits and a half [was] the length of it, and one cubit and a half the breadth of it.
Il fit encore un propitiatoire, c’est-à-dire un oracle, d’or très pur, de deux coudées et demie en longueur, et d’une coudée et demie en largeur;
7 And he made two cherubim [of] gold, beaten out of one piece he made them, on the two ends of the mercy-seat;
Et aussi deux chérubins d’un or ductile, qu’il posa des deux côtés du propitiatoire:
8 One cherub on the end on this side, and another cherub on the [other] end on that side: out of the mercy-seat made he the cherubim on the two ends of it.
Un chérubin à la sommité d’un côté, et l’autre chérubin à la sommité de l’autre côté: chacun des deux chérubins à chacune des sommités du propitiatoire,
9 And the cherubim spread out [their] wings on high, [and] covered with their wings over the mercy-seat, with their faces one to another; [even] towards the mercy-seat were the faces of the cherubim.
Etendant leurs ailes et couvrant le propitiatoire, et se regardant l’un l’autre, et le propitiatoire.
10 And he made the table [of] shittim wood: two cubits [was] its length, and a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its hight:
Il fit de plus la table de bois de sétim, qui avait en longueur deux coudées, en largeur une coudée, et en hauteur une coudée et demie.
11 And he overlaid it with pure gold, and made to it a crown of gold round about.
Et il la revêtit d’un or très pur, et il y fit une bordure d’or tout autour;
12 Also he made to it a border of a hand-breadth round about; and made a crown of gold for its border round about.
Et à la bordure elle-même, une couronne d’or de sculpture à jour de quatre doigts, et audessus de celle-ci une autre couronne d’or.
13 And he cast for it four rings of gold, and put the rings upon the four corners that [were] in its four feet.
Il fondit aussi quatre anneaux d’or qu’il posa aux quatre côtés, un à chaque pied de la table,
14 Over against the border were the rings, the places for the staffs, to bear the table.
Contre la couronne; et il y passa les leviers, afin que la table pût être portée.
15 And he made the staffs [of] shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold, to bear the table.
Il fit aussi les leviers eux-mêmes de bois de sétim, et il les revêtit d’or;
16 And he made the vessels which [were] upon the table, its dishes, and its spoons, and its bowls, and its covers to cover with, [of] pure gold.
Et de plus les vases d’un or pur pour les divers usages de la table, les plats, les patères, les encensoirs et les tasses dans lesquelles doivent être offertes les libations.
17 And he made the candlestick of pure gold; [of] beaten work he made the candlestick; its shaft, and its branch, its bowls, its knobs, and its flowers were of the same:
Il fit encore le chandelier ductile d’un or très pur. De sa tige sortaient les branches, les coupes, les pommes et les lis:
18 And six branches proceeding from its sides; three branches of the candlestick from the one side of it, and three branches of the candlestick from the other side of it.
Six branches sortaient aux deux côtés, trois d’un côté, et trois de l’autre.
19 Three bowls made after the fashion of almonds in one branch, a knob and a flower; and three bowls made like almonds in another branch, a knob and a flower: so throughout the six branches proceeding from the candlestick.
Il y avait trois coupes en forme de noix à une branche, ainsi que des pommes et des lis, et trois coupes en forme de noix à une autre branche, ainsi que des pommes et des lis. C’était le même travail pour les six branches qui sortaient de la tige du chandelier.
20 And in the candlestick [were] four bowls made like almonds, its knobs, and its flowers:
Mais à la tige elle-même étaient quatre coupes en forme de noix, et des pommes à chacune, ainsi que des lis,
21 And a knob under two branches of the same, and a knob under two branches of the same, and a knob under two branches of the same, according to the six branches proceeding from it.
Et des pommes en trois endroits sous les deux branches, qui font ensemble six branches sortant d’une seule tige.
22 Their knobs and their branches were of the same: all of it [was] one beaten work [of] pure gold.
Ainsi, et les pommes et les branches sortaient du chandelier lui-même, toutes ductiles d’un or très pur.
23 And he made its seven lamps, and its snuffers, and its snuff-dishes, [of] pure gold.
Il fit aussi d’un or très pur les sept lampes, avec leurs mouchettes, et les vases où doivent s’éteindre les lumignons,
24 [Of] a talent of pure gold he made it, and all its vessels.
Le chandelier avec tous ses vases pesait un talent d’or.
25 And he made the incense-altar [of] shittim wood: the length of it [was] a cubit, and the breadth of it a cubit; [it was] foursquare; and two cubits [was] the hight of it; the horns of it were of the same.
Il fit encore l’autel du parfum à brûler de bois de sétim, lequel avait en carré une coudée, et en hauteur deux: de ses angles sortaient les cornes.
26 And he overlaid it with pure gold, [both] the top of it, and its sides round about, and its horns: also he made to it a crown of gold round about.
Et il le revêtit d’un or très pur, avec la grille, les parois et les cornes.
27 And he made two rings of gold for it under its crown, by the two corners of it, upon its two sides, to be places for the staffs to bear it with.
Et il y fit une couronne tout autour, et deux anneaux dor sous la couronne à chaque côté, pour qu’on y passât des leviers, et que l’autel pût être porté.
28 And he made the staffs [of] shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold.
Mais les leviers eux-mêmes, il les fit de bois de sétim, et les couvrit de lames d’or.
29 And he made the holy anointing oil, and the pure incense of sweet spices, according to the work of the apothecary.
Il composa aussi l’huile pour les onctions de consécration et le parfum à brûler, composé d’aromates très purs, selon l’art d’un parfumeur.
