Exodus 33
1 And the LORD said to Moses, Depart [and] go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast conducted from the land of Egypt, to the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, to thy seed will I give it:
பின்பு யெகோவா மோசேயிடம், “நீயும், எகிப்திலிருந்து நீ அழைத்துவந்த மக்களும் இவ்விடத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, ‘உங்கள் சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்’ என்று நான் ஆபிரகாம், ஈசாக்கு, யாக்கோபு ஆகியோருக்கு ஆணையிட்டு வாக்குப்பண்ணிய நாட்டிற்குப் போங்கள்.
2 And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:
நான் உங்களுக்கு முன்னே ஒரு இறைத்தூதனை அனுப்பி கானானியர், எமோரியர், ஏத்தியர், பெரிசியர், ஏவியர், எபூசியர் ஆகியோரை வெளியே துரத்திவிடுவேன்.
3 To a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou [art] a stiff-necked people: lest I consume thee in the way.
பாலும் தேனும் ஓடும் நாட்டிற்குப் போங்கள். ஆனால் நானோ உங்களோடு வரமாட்டேன். ஏனெனில், நீங்கள் பிடிவாத குணமுள்ளவர்கள். அதனால் நான் உங்களை வழியிலேயே அழித்துவிட நேரிடலாம்” என்றார்.
4 And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man put on him his ornaments.
மிகவும் துயரமான இவ்வார்த்தைகளை மக்கள் கேட்டவுடன் அவர்கள் துக்கமடைய தொடங்கினார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒருவரும் தங்கள் நகைகளை அணிந்து கொள்ளவில்லை.
5 For the LORD had said to Moses, Say to the children of Israel, Ye [are] a stiff-necked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do to thee.
ஏனெனில் யெகோவா மோசேயிடம், “நீ இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களிடம், ‘நீங்கள் பிடிவாத குணமுள்ள மக்கள். ஆகையால், உங்களுடன் ஒரு நொடிப்பொழுது நான் வந்தாலும் உங்களை அழித்துவிட நேரிடும். இப்பொழுது நீங்கள் நகைகளைக் கழற்றுங்கள். நான் உங்களுக்கு என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று தீர்மானிப்பேன்’ எனச் சொல்” என்று சொல்லியிருந்தார்.
6 And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments, by the mount Horeb.
ஆகவே இஸ்ரயேலர் ஓரேப் மலையில் தங்கள் நகைகளைக் கழற்றிப் போட்டார்கள்.
7 And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp far from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, [that] every one who sought the LORD, went out to the tabernacle of the congregation, which [was] without the camp.
மோசே ஒரு கூடாரத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய் முகாமுக்கு வெளியே சற்றுத் தொலைவில் அதை அமைப்பது வழக்கம். அதை அவன், “சபைக் கூடாரம்” என அழைத்தான். யெகோவாவிடம் விசாரித்து அறியவரும் யாரும், முகாமுக்கு வெளியே அந்தக் கூடாரத்திற்குப் போவார்கள்.
8 And it came to pass when Moses went out to the tabernacle, [that] all the people rose, and stood every man at his tent-door, and looked after Moses, until he had gone into the tabernacle.
மோசே வெளியே அந்தக் கூடாரத்திற்குப் போகும்போதெல்லாம், எல்லா மக்களும் தங்களுடைய கூடாரவாசலில் எழுந்து, மோசே கூடாரத்திற்குள் போகும்வரை பார்த்துக்கொண்டு நிற்பார்கள்.
9 And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood [at] the door of the tabernacle, and [the LORD] talked with Moses.
மோசே கூடாரத்திற்குள் போனதும், மேகத்தூண் கீழே இறங்கி, வாசலில் வந்து நிற்கும். அப்பொழுது யெகோவா மோசேயுடன் பேசுவார்.
10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand [at] the tabernacle door: and all the people rose and worshiped, every man [in] his tent-door.
மேகத்தூண் கூடாரவாசலில் நிற்பதை மக்கள் காணும்போதெல்லாம், எல்லோரும் தங்களுடைய கூடாரவாசலில் நின்று வழிபடுவார்கள்.
11 And the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaketh to his friend. And he turned again into the camp; but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
ஒரு மனிதன் தன் நண்பனோடு பேசுவதைப்போல் யெகோவா மோசேயுடன் முகமுகமாய் பேசுவார். அதன்பின் மோசே திரும்பி முகாமுக்குள் போவான். ஆனால் மோசேயின் பணியாளனான நூனின் மகன் யோசுவா என்ற வாலிபன், கூடாரத்தைவிட்டுப் போவதேயில்லை.
12 And Moses said to the LORD, See, thou sayest to me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
மோசே யெகோவாவிடம் சொன்னதாவது: “நீ இந்த மக்களை வழிநடத்து என்று நீர் என்னிடம் சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறீர். ஆனாலும் என்னோடு யாரை அனுப்புவீர் என்று எனக்கு அறிவிக்கவில்லை. நான் உன்னைப் பெயர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; நீ என்னிடம் தயவு பெற்றிருக்கிறாய் என்றும் நீர் சொல்லியிருந்தீர்.
13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation [is] thy people.
அவ்வாறு உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குத் தயவு கிடைத்ததினால், நான் உம்மை இன்னும் அதிகம் அறிவதற்கும், உம்முடைய கண்களில் தொடர்ந்து தயவைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதற்கும், உம்முடைய வழிகளை எனக்குப் போதியும். இந்த நாடு உம்முடைய மக்கள் என்பதையும் நினைவிற்கொள்ளும்” என்றான்.
14 And he said, My presence shall attend [thee], and I will give thee rest.
அதற்கு யெகோவா, “எனது சமுகம் உன்னோடு போகும்; நான் உனக்கு ஆறுதலைத் தருவேன்” என்றார்.
15 And he said to him, If thy presence shall not attend me, conduct us not hence.
அப்பொழுது மோசே யெகோவாவிடம், “உமது சமுகம் எங்களுடன் வராவிட்டால் எங்களை இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து அனுப்பவேண்டாம்.
16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? [Is it] not in that thou goest with us? So shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that [are] upon the face of the earth.
நீர் எங்களுடன் வராவிட்டால், என்மேலும் உம்முடைய மக்கள்மேலும் நீர் பிரியமாயிருக்கிறீர் என்பதை யாராவது எப்படி அறிவார்கள்? இதையல்லாமல் என்னையும், உமது மக்களையும் பூமியின் மேற்பரப்பிலிருக்கும் மக்களிடமிருந்து வித்தியாசப்படுத்திக் காட்டுவது எது?” என்று கேட்டான்.
17 And the LORD said to Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
அதற்கு யெகோவா மோசேயிடம், “நீ கேட்டுக்கொண்ட அதையே நான் செய்வேன். ஏனெனில் நான் உன்னிடம் பிரியமாய் இருக்கிறேன். நான் உன்னைப் பெயர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
18 And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory.
அப்பொழுது மோசே, “உம்முடைய மகிமையை எனக்கு இப்பொழுது காண்பியும்” என்றான்.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.
அதற்கு யெகோவா, “என் நன்மை எல்லாவற்றையும் நான் உனக்கு முன்பாகக் கடந்துபோகச் செய்வேன். யெகோவா என்ற என் பெயரை உனக்கு முன்பாக பிரசித்தப்படுத்துவேன். நான் யாருக்கு இரக்கம் காட்ட விருப்பமாயிருக்கிறேனோ, அவர்களுக்கு இரக்கம் காட்டுவேன். யாரிடம் மனதுருக்கமாய் இருக்க விரும்புகிறேனோ அவர்களிடம் மனதுருகுவேன்.
20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
ஆனால், என்னுடைய முகத்தை உன்னால் காணமுடியாது; ஏனெனில் என் முகத்தைக் கண்டு ஒருவனும் உயிரோடிருக்கமுடியாது” என்றார்.
21 And the LORD said, Behold, [there is] a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
பின்பு யெகோவா, “எனக்கு அருகே இருக்கும் கற்பாறையின்மேல் நீ நில்.
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock: and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
என் மகிமை கடந்து செல்லும்போது, நான் உன்னைக் கற்பாறை வெடிப்பில் வைப்பேன். நான் கடந்துசெல்லும்வரை என் கையால் உன்னை மூடுவேன்.
23 And I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
அதன்பின் நான் என் கையை விலக்குவேன். நீ என் முதுகைக் காண்பாய்; ஆனால் என் முகமோ காணப்படக்கூடாது” என்றார்.
