Exodus 31
1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Weiter sagte der HERR zu Mose folgendes:
2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
»Wisse wohl: ich habe Bezaleel, den Sohn Uris, den Enkel Hurs, aus dem Stamme Juda, namentlich berufen
3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
und ihn mit göttlichem Geist erfüllt, mit Kunstsinn und Einsicht, mit Verstand und allerlei Fertigkeiten,
4 To devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
um Kunstwerke zu ersinnen, Arbeiten in Gold, in Silber und in Kupfer auszuführen,
5 And in cutting of stones to set [them], and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.
Edelsteine zu schneiden, um Kunstwerke damit zu besetzen, Holz zu schnitzen, kurz Werke jeder Art kunstvoll auszuführen.
6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan; and in the hearts of all that are wise-hearted I have put wisdom; that they may make all that I have commanded thee:
Zugleich habe ich ihm Oholiab, den Sohn Ahisamachs, aus dem Stamme Dan, beigegeben und allen Kunstverständigen die erforderliche Begabung verliehen, damit sie alles, was ich dir geboten habe, herstellen,
7 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy-seat that [is] upon it, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,
nämlich das Offenbarungszelt und die Gesetzeslade mit der Deckplatte darauf und alle anderen Geräte des Zeltes,
8 And the table and its furniture, and the pure candlestick with all its furniture, and the altar of incense,
nämlich den Tisch mit allen seinen Geräten, den Leuchter aus feinem Gold samt allen zugehörigen Geräten, den Räucheraltar,
9 And the altar of burnt-offering, with all its furniture, and the laver and its foot,
den Brandopferaltar mit allen seinen Geräten, das Becken mit seinem Gestell;
10 And the clothes of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,
sodann die [Prachtkleider und] heiligen Kleider für den Priester Aaron sowie die Kleider seiner Söhne, die mir als Priester dienen sollen;
11 And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy [place]: according to all that I have commanded thee, shall they do.
ferner das Salböl und das wohlriechende Räucherwerk für das Heiligtum. Genau so, wie ich dir geboten habe, sollen sie alles ausführen!«
12 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Weiter gebot der HERR dem Mose folgendes:
13 Speak thou also to the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it [is] a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that [ye] may know that I [am] the LORD that doth sanctify you.
»Du aber präge den Israeliten folgendes Gebot ein: ›Beobachtet ja meine Sabbate! Denn sie sind ein Zeichen (des Bundes) zwischen mir und euch für eure künftigen Geschlechter, damit ihr erkennt, daß ich, der HERR, es bin, der euch heiligt.
14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore: for it [is] holy to you. Every one that profaneth it shall surely be put to death: for whoever doeth [any] work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Beobachtet also den Sabbat! Denn er soll euch heilig sein; wer ihn entweiht, soll unfehlbar mit dem Tode bestraft werden; ja wer irgendeine Arbeit an diesem Tage verrichtet, ein solcher Mensch soll aus der Mitte seiner Volksgenossen ausgerottet werden:
15 Six days may work be done, but in the seventh [is] the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whoever doeth [any] work in the sabbath-day, he shall surely be put to death.
Sechs Tage lang darf gearbeitet werden, aber am siebten Tage ist der dem HERRN geheiligte Feiertag mit vollständiger Ruhe: wer irgend am Sabbattag eine Arbeit verrichtet, soll unfehlbar mit dem Tode bestraft werden!
16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, [for] a perpetual covenant.
So sollen also die Israeliten den Sabbat beobachten, indem sie den Ruhetag von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht feiern, als eine ewige Verpflichtung.
17 [It is] a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.
Für ewige Zeiten soll er ein Zeichen (des Bundes) zwischen mir und den Israeliten sein! Denn in sechs Tagen hat der HERR den Himmel und die Erde geschaffen, aber am siebten Tag hat er gefeiert und geruht.‹«
18 And to Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, he gave two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
Als der HERR nun seine Unterredung mit Mose auf dem Berge Sinai beendet hatte, übergab er ihm die beiden Gesetzestafeln, steinerne Tafeln, die vom Finger Gottes beschrieben waren.
