Exodus 26

1 Moreover, thou shalt make the tabernacle [with] ten curtains [of] fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: [with] cherubim of curious work shalt thou make them.

Mais le tabernacle, c’est ainsi que tu le feras: Tu feras dix rideaux de fin lin retors, d’hyacinthe, de pourpre et d’écarlate deux fois teinte, parsemés en ouvrage de broderie.

2 The length of one curtain [shall be] eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure.

La longueur d’un rideau aura vingt-huit coudées: la largeur sera de quatre coudées. Tous les rideaux seront faits d’une seule mesure.

3 The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and [other] five curtains [shall be] coupled one to another.

Cinq rideaux seront joints ensemble, l’un à l’autre, et les autres cinq seront attachés de la même manière.

4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of [another] curtain, in the coupling of the second.

Tu feras de petits lacs d’hyacinthe aux côtés et aux sommités des rideaux, afin qu’ils puissent s’unir l’un à l’autre.

5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that [is] in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.

Un rideau aura cinquante petits lacs de chaque côté, disposés de telle sorte qu’un lacs vienne contre un lacs, et que l’un puisse s’ajuster à l’autre.

6 And thou shalt make fifty buttons of gold, and couple the curtains together with the buttons: and it shall be one tabernacle.

Tu feras aussi cinquante anneaux d’or par lesquels les voiles des rideaux doivent être joints, afin qu’il se fasse un seul tabernacle.

7 And thou shalt make curtains [of] goats' [hair] to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.

Tu feras encore onze couvertures de poils de chèvres pour couvrir le dessus du tabernacle.

8 The length of one curtain [shall be] thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains [shall be all] of one measure.

La longueur d’une couverture aura trente coudées, et la largeur quatre. La mesure de toutes les couvertures sera égale.

9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixth curtain in the front of the tabernacle.

Tu en joindras cinq à part, et tu en uniras six l’une à l’autre, en sorte que tu replies la sixième couverture sur le devant du toit.

10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain [that is] outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.

Tu feras de plus cinquante lacs au bord d’une couverture, afin qu’elle puisse être jointe à l’autre; et cinquante lacs au bord de cette autre, afin qu’elle puisse être unie à une autre.

11 And thou shalt make fifty buttons of brass, and put the buttons into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.

Tu feras aussi cinquante boucles d’airain, par lesquelles les lacs doivent être joints, afin que du tout il se fasse une seule couverture.

12 And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.

Pour ce qui sera de trop dans les couvertures que l’on disposera pour le toit, c’est-à-dire une couverture qui sera de surplus, tu couvriras avec sa moitié le derrière du tabernacle.

13 And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

Et une coudée pendra d’un côté et une autre de l’autre; ce qui sera de surplus dans la longueur des couvertures couvrira les deux côtés du tabernacle.

14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent, [of] rams' skins dyed red, and a covering above [of] badgers' skins.

Tu feras aussi au toit une autre couverture de peaux de béliers teintes en rouge, et sur celle-ci tu mettras encore une autre couverture de peaux violettes.

15 And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle [of] shittim wood standing up.

Tu feras aussi de bois de sétim les ais du tabernacle, qui se tiendront debout,

16 Ten cubits [shall be] the length of a board, and a cubit and a half [shall be] the breadth of one board.

Qui auront chacun dix coudées en longueur, et en largeur une coudée et demie.

17 Two tenons [shall there be] in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

Aux côtés d’un ais on fera deux emboîtements, par lesquels un ais s’enchâssera dans un autre ais; et c’est de cette manière que tous les ais seront disposés.

18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.

Il y en aura vingt du côté méridional qui regarde le vent du midi.

19 And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.

Pour ces ais, tu fondras quarante soubassements d’argent, de manière que deux soubassements soient posés au-dessous de chaque ais aux deux angles.

20 And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side [there shall be] twenty boards:

Et aussi au second côté du tabernacle, qui regarde l’aquilon, il y aura vingt ais,

21 And their forty sockets [of] silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

Ayant quarante soubassements d’argent; deux soubassements seront posés sous chaque ais.

22 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.

Et pour le côté occidental du tabernacle, tu feras six

23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.

Et encore deux autres qui seront dressés aux angles du derrière du tabernacle.

24 And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it to one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

Et ils seront joints depuis le bas jusqu’au haut, et un seul joint les retiendra tous. De même pour les deux ais qui doivent être posés aux angles, on conservera une semblable jointure.

25 And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets [of] silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

Or il y aura en tout huit ais, et leurs soubassements d’argent seront au nombre de seize, en comptant deux soubassements pour un seul ais.

26 And thou shalt make bars [of] shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

Tu feras aussi des leviers de bois de sétim, cinq pour maintenir les ais à un côté du tabernacle,

27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.

Et cinq autres à l’autre, et le même nombre pour le côté occidental.

28 And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.

Et ils seront posés en travers au milieu des ais depuis une extrémité jusqu’à l’autre extrémité.

29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings [of] gold [for] places for the bars; and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.

Tu doreras aussi les ais eux-mêmes, et tu fondras, pour les y mettre, des anneaux d’or au moyen desquels des barres maintiendront les ais; barres que tu couvriras de lames d’or.

30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shown thee on the mount.

Ainsi, tu dresseras le tabernacle selon le modèle qui t’a été montré sur la montagne.

31 And thou shalt make a vail [of] blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of curious work: with cherubim shall it be made.

Tu feras aussi un voile d’hyacinthe, de pourpre, d’écarlate deux fois teinte et de fin lin retors, d’un ouvrage en broderie, et tissu avec une belle variété.

32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim [wood] overlaid with gold: their hooks [shall be of] gold, upon the four sockets of silver.

Tu le suspendras à quatre colonnes de bois de sétim, lesquelles seront aussi elles-mêmes dorées, et auront des chapiteaux d’or, mais des soubassements d’argent.

33 And thou shalt hang the vail under the buttons, that thou mayst bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide to you between the holy [place] and the most holy.

Or, c’est par des anneaux que sera attaché le voile, au-dedans duquel tu placeras l’arche du témoignage, par lequel le Saint et le Saint des Saints seront divisés.

34 And thou shalt put the mercy-seat upon the ark of the testimony, in the most holy [place].

Tu placeras aussi le propitiatoire sur l’arche du témoignage dans le Saint des Saints,

35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle towards the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

Et la table en dehors du voile, et vis-à-vis de la table le chandelier du côté méridional du tabernacle; car la table sera du côté de l’aquilon.

36 And thou shalt make a hanging for the door of the tent, [of] blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needle work.

Tu feras aussi à l’entrée du tabernacle un voile d’hyacinthe, de pourpre, d’écarlate deux fois teinte, et de fin lin retors, en ouvrage de brodeur.

37 And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars [of] shittim [wood], and overlay them with gold, [and] their hooks [shall be of] gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.

Et tu doreras cinq colonnes de bois de sétim, auxquelles sera suspendu le voile, dont les chapiteaux seront d’or et les soubassements d’airain.
