Deuteronomy 34

1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab, upon the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that [is] over against Jericho: and the LORD showed him all the land of Gilead, to Dan,

Et Moïse monta, d'Araboth en Moab, sur le mont Nébo, au faîte de la cime de Phasga, qui est en face de Jéricho, et le Seigneur lui montra toute la terre de Galaad jusqu'à Dan,

2 And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, to the utmost sea,

Et toute la terre de Nephthali, et toute la terre d'Ephraïm, et toute la terre de Manassé, et toute la terre de Juda jusqu'à la mer extrême,

3 And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm-trees, to Zoar.

Et le désert, et le territoire de Jéricho (ville des Phéniciens), jusqu'à Ségor.

4 And the LORD said to him, This [is] the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, I will give it to thy seed: I have caused thee to see [it] with thy eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.

Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse: Voici la terre que j'ai promise a Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob, disant: Je la donnerai à votre race. Je te l'ai fait voir, mais tu n'y entreras point,

5 So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.

Et Moïse, serviteur du Seigneur, mourut en la terre de Moab, par l'ordre du Seigneur.

6 And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulcher to this day.

Et on l'ensevelit en Haï près du temple de Phogor, et nul jusqu'à ce jour n'a vu son sépulcre,

7 And Moses [was] a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.

Or, Moïse était âgé de cent vingt ans lorsqu'il mourut; ses yeux n'étaient pas obscurcis, sa taille ne s'était point courbée,

8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping [and] mourning for Moses were ended.

Et les fils d'Israël pleurèrent Moïse en Araboth de Moab sur le Jourdain, vis-à-vis Jéricho, durant trente jours, et les jours du deuil de Moïse s'écoulèrent,

9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened to him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.

Et Josué, fils de Nau, fut rempli de l'esprit d'intelligence; car Moïse lui avait imposé les mains. Les fils d'Israël lui obéirent, et ils se réglèrent dans leur conduite sur ce que le Seigneur avait prescrit à Moïse.

10 And there arose not a prophet afterwards in Israel like to Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,

Et il ne s'éleva plus en Israël de prophète comme Moïse, que le Seigneur connut face à face,

11 In all the signs and the wonders which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,

Au milieu de tous les signes et prodiges que le Seigneur lui ordonna de faire sur la terre d'Egypte, contre le Pharaon, ses serviteurs et toute sa contrée;

12 And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses showed in the sight of all Israel.

Grandes merveilles que, par une main puissante, Moïse opéra devant tout Israël.
