< Deuteronomy 32 >

1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Monyɛ aso, Ao ɔsoro na mɛkasa! Tie, Ao asase, nsɛm a ɛfiri mʼanom.
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
Me nkyerɛkyerɛ bɛtɔ agu mo so sɛ nsuo; me kasa bɛgu sɛ obosuo. Me nsɛm bɛtɔ sɛ osuo a ɛgu ɛserɛ foforɔ so, te sɛ nsuo a ɛpete afifideɛ foforɔ so.
3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness to our God.
Mɛbɔ Awurade din; Animuonyam wɔ yɛn Onyankopɔn.
4 [He is] the Rock, his work [is] perfect: for all his ways [are] judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity: just and right [is] he.
Ɔyɛ Ɔbotan; nʼadwuma yɛ pɛ; Biribiara a ɔyɛ nam ne kwan so, na ɛyɛ. Ɔyɛ Onyankopɔn nokwafoɔ a ɔnyɛ mfomsoɔ; Ɔteneneeni ne nokwafoɔ ne no.
5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot [is] not [the spot] of his children: [they are] a perverse and crooked generation.
Nanso wɔayɛ amumuyɛsɛm atia no; sɛ wɔyɛ saa a, na wɔyɛ ne mma anaa? Wɔyɛ adaadaafoɔ ne nkyirimma kɔntɔnkye.
6 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? [is] not he thy father [that] hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?
Saa na ɛsɛ sɛ mo ne Awurade di no? Mo nkwaseafoɔ ne adwenemherɛfoɔ. Ɛnyɛ ɔno ne mo Agya, mo yɛfoɔ? Ɛnyɛ ɔno na ɔbɔɔ mo na ɔmaa mo nnyinasoɔ?
7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.
Monkae tete nna; monnwene awoɔ ntoatoasoɔ a atwam ho. Mommisa mo agya na ɔbɛkyerɛ mo. Mommisa mo mpanimfoɔ na wɔbɛka akyerɛ mo.
8 When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.
Ɛberɛ a Ɔsorosoroni kyekyɛɛ nsase maa amanaman, na ɔkyekyɛɛ adasamma mu no, ɔtotoo ahyeɛ maa nnipa no sɛdeɛ Israelfoɔ no ano sie.
9 For the LORD'S portion [is] his people; Jacob [is] the lot of his inheritance.
Ɛfiri sɛ, Israelfoɔ yɛ Awurade dea; Yakob yɛ nʼagyapadeɛ sononko.
10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
Ɔhunuu wɔn wɔ ɛserɛ asase so Asase kesee a hwee nni so so. Ɔtwaa wɔn ho hyiaeɛ, hwɛɛ wɔn so; Wɛn wɔn sɛ nʼagyapadeɛ a ɛsom bo.
11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings;
Sɛdeɛ ɔkɔdeɛ hwanyan ne mma, na ɔbɔ mpɛmpɛn fa wɔn ho, saa ara na ɔtrɛɛ ne ntaban mu bumaa wɔn, sɔɔ wɔn mu den de wɔn tu kɔɔ soro.
12 [So] the LORD alone did lead him, and [there was] no strange God with him.
Awurade nko na ɔkyerɛ wɔn ɛkwan. Wɔtenaa ase a wɔnni ananafoɔ anyame biara.
13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
Ɔma wɔnante faa nkokoɔ so; Ɔma wɔdi mfuo so nnɔbaeɛ; ɔde abotan mu woɔ, ne ngo a ɛfiri abohemaa mu siesie wɔn.
14 Butter of cows, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.
Ɔde anantwie nufosuo mu sradeɛ ne nnwan nufosuo, nnwan ne mmirekyie mu sradeɛ ma wɔdiiɛ. Ɔde Basan nnwennini ne nnwan a wɔadɔre, ne atokoɔ papa maa wɔn. Monom bobesa papa a ɛfiri bobe mu.
15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou hast waxed fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered [with fatness]; then he forsook God [who] made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
Nanso, ankyɛre Yeshurun dɔree sradeɛ yɛɛ ahomasoɔ; nnipa no mu yɛɛ duru, yɛɛ abrane, yɛɛ pemee! Afei, wɔpaa Onyankopɔn a ɔbɔɔ wɔn; wɔammu wɔn Botan a ɔyɛ wɔn nkwagyeɛ no.
16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange [gods], with abominations they provoked him to anger.
Wɔkanyane ne ninkunutwe, ɛfiri sɛ wɔsomm anyame foforɔ; wɔyɛɛ akyiwadeɛ pii de hyɛɛ no abufuo.
17 They sacrificed to devils, not to God; to gods which they knew not, to new [gods that] came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
Wɔbɔɔ afɔdeɛ maa ahonhom fi, anyame huhuo, anyame a na wɔnnim wɔn dada, anyame a wɔbaa nnansa yi ara, anyame a na wɔn agyanom nsuro wɔn.
18 Of the Rock [that] begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
Mopaa Ɔbotan a ɔyɛɛ mo agya no. Mo werɛ firii Onyankopɔn a ɔwoo mo no.
19 And when the LORD saw [it], he abhorred [them], because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
Awurade hunuu yei na wɔn ho yɛɛ no nwunu. Ɔno ankasa mmammarima ne ne mmammaa hyɛɛ no abufuo.
20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end [will be]: for they [are] a very froward generation, children in whom [is] no faith.
Ɔkaa sɛ, “Mɛgya wɔn hɔ; Mɛma wɔn awieeɛ aba! Ɛfiri sɛ, wɔyɛ awoɔ ntoatoasoɔ kɔntɔnkye; mma a wɔnni nokorɛ.
21 They have moved me to jealousy with [that which is] not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with [those who are] not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
Wɔde anyame foforɔ som akanyane me ninkuntwe; wɔde anyame huhuo ahyɛ me abufuo. Afei, mɛhyira aman a wɔnyɛ me ɔman mpo ama wɔn ani abere; mɛhyira aman amanmufoɔ a wɔnni nteaseɛ ahyɛ wɔn abufuo.
22 For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. (Sheol h7585)
Mʼabufuo dɛre sɛ ogya, na ɛhye kɔsi damena mu. Ɛsɛe asase ne so nnɔbaeɛ nyinaa na ɛpaapae mmepɔ fapem. (Sheol h7585)
23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend my arrows upon them.
“Mɛhɔre amanehunu wɔ wɔn so na mato me bɛmma awowɔ wɔn.
24 [They shall be] burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.
Mede ɛkɔm kɛseɛ, huraeɛnini ne owuyadeɛ bɛba wɔn so. Wɔde wiram mmoa se ne awɔ a wɔn ano wɔ borɔ a wɔwea fam bɛha wɔn.
25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling [also] with the man of gray hairs.
Mmɔntene so no wɔbɛwuwu akofena ano, na afie mu, ehu bɛtɔ wɔn so. Mmeranteɛ ne mmabaawa mmɔfra ne mpanin nyinaa.
26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men;
Meyɛɛ mʼadwene sɛ mɛbɔ wɔn ahwete ama wɔn nkaeɛ ayera.
27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, [and] lest they should say, Our hand [is] high, and the LORD hath not done all this.
Nanso, mesuroo ɔtamfoɔ fɛdie, sɛ ebia atiafoɔ rente aseɛ na wɔaka sɛ, ‘Yɛn tumi adi nkonim! Ɛnyɛ Awurade na ɔyɛeɛ!’”
28 For they [are] a nation void of counsel, neither [is there any] understanding in them.
Israel yɛ ɔman a wɔnni adwene. Nnipa no yɛ nkwaseafoɔ, na wɔnni nteaseɛ.
29 O that they were wise, [that] they understood this, [that] they would consider their latter end!
Ao, sɛ wɔnim nyansa a, anka wɔbɛte yei ase! Ao, anka wɔbɛhunu wɔn hyɛberɛ!
30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?
Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na onipa baako ataa nnipa apem, na baanu bɛma ɔpedu adwane, gye sɛ wɔn Botan atɔn wɔn. Gye sɛ Awurade ayi wɔn ama.
31 For their rock [is] not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves [being] judges:
Na wɔn botan nte sɛ yɛn Botan, sɛdeɛ wɔhunu no.
32 For their vine [is] of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes [are] grapes of gall, their clusters [are] bitter:
Wɔn bobe nyini firi Sodom bobe mu firi Gomora bobe nturom. Wɔn bobe aba yɛ awuduro na wɔn siaka nso yɛ nwono.
33 Their wine [is] the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.
Wɔn bobesa yɛ awɔ ano borɔ; aprammire ano borɔ kɔdiawuo.
34 [Is] not this laid up in store with me, [and] sealed up among my treasures?
“Merekora saa nneɛma yi nyinaa, asɔ ano de asie mʼadekoradan mu.
35 To me [belongeth] vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in [due] time: for the day of their calamity [is] at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.
Mɛtɔ awere; wɔn a ɛfata wɔn no, ɛbɛtua wɔn so ka. Ɛrenkyɛre wɔn nan bɛwatiri. Wɔn amanehunu da no bɛduru, na wɔn hyɛberɛ bɛto wɔn.”
36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent for his servants: when he seeth that [their] power is gone, and [there is] none shut up, or left.
37 And he shall say, Where [are] their gods, [their] rock in whom they trusted,
Ɔbɛbisa sɛ, “Afei wɔn anyame no wɔ he, ɔbotan a wɔde yɛɛ wɔn dwanekɔbea no,
38 Which ate the fat of their sacrifices, [and] drank the wine of their drink-offerings? let them rise up and help you, [and] be your protection.
anyame a wɔdii wɔn afɔrebɔdeɛ mu sradeɛ no na wɔnom wɔn afɔrebɔdeɛ mu nsã no? Ma saa anyame no nsɔre mmɛboa mo! Ma wɔnyɛ mo dwanekɔbea!
39 See now that I, [even] I [am] he, and [there is] no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither [is there any] that can deliver out of my hand.
“Afei, monhunu sɛ, me ara me ne no! Onyame biara nni hɔ sɛ me! Me na mekum na mema nkwa: Me na mepira, na mesa; obi ntumi nnye wo mfiri me nsam.
40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
Afei, mepagya me nsa kyerɛ soro Ka sɛ: Sɛ mete ase yi,
41 If I shall whet my glittering sword, and my hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
Sɛ mese mʼakofena a ɛpa yerɛ yerɛ ano na mefiri atemmuo ase a, mɛtɔ mʼatamfoɔ so awere na matua wɔn a wɔtan me so ka.
42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; [and that] with the blood of the slain and of the captives from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.
Mɛma me bɛmma anom mogya abo, na mʼakofena asɛe honam, atɔfoɔ ne nnommumfoɔ mogya, ne atamfoɔ ntuanofoɔ tiri.”
43 Rejoice, O ye nations, [with] his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful to his land, [and] to his people.
Ao ɔsorosoro, mo ne no nni ahurisie, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔbɛtɔ nʼasomfoɔ mogya so were. Ɔbɛtɔ nʼatamfoɔ so awere na wadwira nʼasase ne ne nkurɔfoɔ ho.
44 And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Hoshea the son of Nun.
Mose ne Nun babarima Hosea baeɛ bɛkaa dwom yi mu nsɛm nyinaa kyerɛɛ nnipa no.
45 And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel;
Mose wiee saa dwom no mu nsɛm no ka no,
46 And he said to them, Set your hearts to all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.
ɔka kaa ho sɛ, “Momfa nsɛm a maka akyerɛ mo no nyinaa nsie mo akoma mu. Monka nkyerɛ mo mma nso sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a wɔbɛdi emu asɛm biara so sɛ mmara.
47 For it [is] not a vain thing for you: because it [is] your life; and through this thing ye shall prolong [your] days in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
Saa nkyerɛkyerɛ yi nyɛ nsɛm bi kwa, ɛyɛ mo nkwa! Sɛ modi so a, mo nkwa nna bɛware wɔ asase a moretwa Asubɔnten Yordan akɔtena so no so.”
48 And the LORD spoke to Moses that same day, saying,
Ɛda no ara, Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose sɛ,
49 Ascend this mountain Abarim, [to] mount Nebo, which [is] in the land of Moab, that [is] over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan which I give to the children of Israel for a Possession:
“Kɔ Moab, kɔ mmepɔ a ɛwɔ asuo no apueeɛ no so, na foro Nebo bepɔ a ɛne Yeriko di nhwɛanim no. To wʼani hwɛ Kanaan asase no, asase a mede rema Israelfoɔ sɛ wɔn agyapadeɛ no.
50 And die in the mount whither thou goest, and be gathered to thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:
Ɛhɔ na wobɛwu wɔ bepɔ no so, na woakɔka wʼagyanom ho, sɛdeɛ wo nua Aaron wuu wɔ Hor bepɔ so kɔkaa nʼagyanom ho no.
51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.
Ɛfiri sɛ, mo baanu dii me hwammɔ wɔ Israelfoɔ mu wɔ Meriba ne Kades asuo ho wɔ Sin ɛserɛ so. Moanni me kronkronyɛ ho adanseɛ ankyerɛ Israelfoɔ no wɔ hɔ.
52 Yet thou shalt see the land before [thee], but thou shalt not go thither to the land which I give the children of Israel.
Ɛno enti, mobɛhunu asase no afiri akyiri, nanso mo nan rensi asase a mede rema Israelfoɔ no so.”
