Deuteronomy 24
1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it shall come to pass that she findeth no favor in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give [it] in her hand, and send her out of his house.
౧“ఎవరైనా ఒక స్త్రీని పెళ్ళి చేసుకుని, ఆ తరువాత ఆమె ఇంతకు ముందే పరాయి పురుషునితో లైంగికంగా సంబంధం కలిగి ఉన్నట్టు అనుమానం కలిగితే ఆమెపై అతనికి ఇష్టం తొలగిపోతే అతడు ఆమెకు విడాకులు రాయించి ఆమె చేతికిచ్చి తన ఇంట్లోనుంచి ఆమెను పంపేయాలి.
2 And when she hath departed from his house, she may go and be another man's [wife].
౨ఆమె అతని దగ్గర నుండి వెళ్లిపోయిన తరువాత వేరొక పురుషుణ్ణి పెళ్లి చేసుకోవచ్చు.
3 And [if] the latter husband shall hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and give [it] in her hand, and send her out of his house; or if the latter husband shall die, who took her [to be] his wife;
౩ఆ రెండోవాడు కూడా ఆమెను ఇష్టపడకుండా ఆమెకు విడాకులు రాయించి ఆమె చేతికిచ్చి తన ఇంటి నుంచి ఆమెను పంపి వేసినా, లేదా ఆమెను పెళ్ళిచేసుకున్న ఆ వ్యక్తి చనిపోయినా,
4 Her former husband who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that [is] abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee [for] an inheritance.
౪ఆమెను తిరస్కరించిన ఆమె మొదటి భర్త ఆమెను తిరిగి పెళ్లి చేసుకోకూడదు. ఎందుకంటే ఆమె అపవిత్రురాలు. అది యెహోవాకు అసహ్యం. కాబట్టి మీ యెహోవా దేవుడు మీకు వారసత్వంగా ఇవ్వబోయే దేశానికి పాపం తెచ్చిపెట్టకూడదు.
5 When a man hath newly taken a wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: [but] he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife which he hath taken.
౫కొత్తగా పెళ్ళిచేసుకున్న వాళ్ళు సైన్యంలో చేరకూడదు. వాళ్లకు ఎలాంటి బాధ్యతలు అప్పగించకూడదు. ఒక సంవత్సరం పాటు అతడు కులాసాగా తన ఇంట్లో ఉంటూ పెళ్లి చేసుకున్న భార్యను సంతోషపెట్టాలి.
6 No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone for a pledge: for he taketh [a man's] life for a pledge.
౬తిరగలిని, తిరగటి పైరాతిని తాకట్టు పెట్టకూడదు. అలా చేస్తే ఒకడి జీవనాధారాన్ని తాకట్టు పెట్టినట్టే.
7 If a man shall be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and shall make merchandise of him, or sell him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt remove evil from among you.
౭ఒకడు ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజల్లోని తన సోదరుల్లో ఎవరినైనా బలాత్కారంగా ఎత్తుకుపోయి అతణ్ణి తన బానిసగా చేసుకున్నా, లేదా అమ్మివేసినా అతణ్ణి చంపివేయాలి. అలా చేస్తే ఆ చెడుతనాన్ని మీ మధ్యనుంచి రూపుమాపిన వారవుతారు.
8 Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, [so] ye shall observe to do.
౮కుష్టురోగం విషయంలో యాజకులైన లేవీయులు మీకు బోధించే దాన్నంతా చేసే విషయంలో జాగ్రత్త వహించండి. ఈ విషయంలో నేను వారికి ఆజ్ఞాపించినదంతా జాగ్రత్తగా జరిగించండి.
9 Remember what the LORD thy God did to Miriam by the way, after that ye come forth from Egypt.
౯మీరు ఐగుప్తు నుంచి వస్తున్నప్పుడు దారిలో మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మిర్యాముకు చేసిన దాన్ని గుర్తుంచుకోండి.
10 When thou dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to take his pledge:
౧౦మీ పొరుగువాడికి ఏదైనా అప్పు ఇచ్చినప్పుడు అతని దగ్గర తాకట్టు వస్తువు తీసుకొనేందుకు అతని ఇంటి లోపలికి వెళ్లకూడదు.
11 Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad to thee:
౧౧ఇంటి బయటే నిలబడాలి. అప్పు తీసుకునేవాడు బయట నిలబడి ఉన్న నీ దగ్గరికి ఆ తాకట్టు వస్తువు తీసుకు వస్తాడు.
12 And if the man [is] poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:
౧౨అతడు పేదవాడైన పక్షంలో నువ్వు అతని తాకట్టు వస్తువు నీదగ్గరే ఉంచుకుని నిద్రపోకూడదు. అతడు తన దుప్పటి కప్పుకుని నిద్రబోయేముందు నిన్ను దీవించేలా సూర్యాస్తమయంలోగా తప్పకుండా ఆ తాకట్టు వస్తువును అతనికి తిరిగి అప్పగించాలి.
13 In any case thou shalt deliver to him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee; and it shall be righteousness to thee before the LORD thy God.
౧౩అది మీ యెహోవా దేవుని దృష్టిలో మీకు నీతి అవుతుంది.
14 Thou shalt not oppress a hired servant [that is] poor and needy, [whether he is] of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that [are] in thy land within thy gates:
౧౪మీ సోదరుల్లో గానీ మీ దేశంలోని గ్రామాల్లో ఉన్న విదేశీయుల్లోగానీ దరిద్రులైన కూలివారిని బాధించకూడదు. ఏ రోజు కూలి ఆ రోజే ఇవ్వాలి.
15 At his day thou shalt give [him] his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it, for he [is] poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he should cry against thee to the LORD, and it be sin to thee.
౧౫సూర్యుడు అస్తమించేలోగా అతనికి కూలి చెల్లించాలి. అతడు పేదవాడు కాబట్టి అతనికి వచ్చే సొమ్ము మీద ఆశ పెట్టుకుంటాడు. వాడు నిన్ను బట్టి యెహోవాకు మొర్ర పెడతాడేమో. అది నీకు పాపమవుతుంది.
16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
౧౬కొడుకుల పాపాన్నిబట్టి తండ్రులకు మరణశిక్ష విధించకూడదు, తండ్రుల పాపాన్ని బట్టి కొడుకులకు మరణశిక్ష విధించకూడదు. ఎవరి పాపానికి వారే మరణశిక్ష పొందాలి.
17 Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, [nor] of the fatherless, nor take a widow's raiment for a pledge:
౧౭పరదేశులకు గానీ తండ్రి లేనివారికి గానీ అన్యాయంగా తీర్పు తీర్చకూడదు. విధవరాలి దుస్తులు తాకట్టుగా తీసుకోకూడదు.
18 But thou shalt remember that thou wast a bond-man in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
౧౮మీరు ఐగుప్తులో బానిసలుగా ఉండగా మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మిమ్మల్ని అక్కడనుంచి విమోచించాడని గుర్తుచేసుకోవాలి. అందుకే ఈ పనులు చెయ్యాలని మీకు ఆజ్ఞాపిస్తున్నాను.
19 When thou cuttest down thy harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hands.
౧౯మీ పొలంలో మీ పంట కోస్తున్నప్పుడు పొలంలో ఒక పన మర్చిపోతే దాన్ని తెచ్చుకోడానికి మీరు తిరిగి వెనక్కి వెళ్ళకూడదు. మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీరు చేసే పనులన్నిటిలో మిమ్మల్ని ఆశీర్వదించేలా అది పరదేశులకు, తండ్రి లేనివారికీ, విధవరాళ్లకూ మిగల్చాలి.
20 When thou beatest thy olive-tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
౨౦మీ ఒలీవ పండ్లను ఏరుకునేటప్పుడు మీ వెనక ఉన్న పరిగెను ఏరుకోకూడదు. అవి పరదేశులకు, తండ్రి లేనివారికీ, విధవరాళ్లకూ మిగల్చాలి.
21 When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean [it] afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
౨౧మీ ద్రాక్షపండ్లను కోసుకొనేటప్పుడు మీ వెనకపడిపోయిన గుత్తిని ఏరుకోకూడదు. అది పరదేశులకు, తండ్రి లేనివారికీ, విధవరాళ్లకూ మిగల్చాలి.
22 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bond-man in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
౨౨మీరు ఐగుప్తు దేశంలో బానిసగా ఉన్నారని గుర్తుచేసుకోండి. అందుకే ఈ పని చెయ్యాలని మీకు ఆజ్ఞాపిస్తున్నాను.”
