Deuteronomy 15
1 At the end of [every] seven years thou shalt make a release.
हरेक सात वर्षको अन्त्यमा कर्जाहरू रद्द गरिदिनू ।
2 And this [is] the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth [aught] to his neighbor shall release [it]; he shall not exact [it] of his neighbor, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD'S release.
त्यो काम यसरी गरिने छः हरेक ऋणदाताले आफ्नो छिमेकीलाई दिएको ऋण रद्द गरिदिने छ । त्यसले आफ्नो छिमेकी वा भाइबाट ऋणको माग गर्दैन किनकि परमप्रभुको कर्जामाफीको घोषणा गरिएको छ ।
3 Of a foreigner thou mayest exact [it again]: but [that] which is thine with thy brother thy hand shall release:
तिमीहरूले परदेशीबाट चाहिँ यसको माग गर्न सक्छौ, तर तिम्रो भाइको ऋणचाहिँ फुक्का गरिदेओ ।
4 Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee [for] an inheritance to possess it:
तथापि, तिमीहरूका बिचमा कोही गरिब हुनुहुँदैन (किनकि परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई सम्पत्तिको रूपमा अधिकार गर्न दिनुहुने देशमा तिमीहरूलाई निश्चय नै आशिष् दिनुहुने छ) ।
5 Only if thou shalt carefully hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day.
तर यसको लागि तिमीहरूले आज मैले तिमीहरूलाई दिएका यी सबै आज्ञा पालन गर्न परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरको आवाज होसियारीसाथ सुन्नुपर्छ ।
6 For the LORD thy God shall bless thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend to many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
किनकि परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूसित प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएझैँ उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई आशिष् दिनुहुने छ । तिमीहरूले धेरै जातिहरूलाई ऋण दिने छौ, तर तिमीहरूले ऋण लिने छैनौ । तिमीहरूले धेरै जातिहरूमाथि शासन गर्ने छौ, तर तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूमाथि शासन गर्ने छैनन् ।
7 If there shall be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD the God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thy heart, nor shut thy hand from thy poor brother:
परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई दिन लाग्नुभएको देशको कुनै पनि सहरभित्र तिमीहरूका बिचमा कुनै पनि भाइ गरिब भयो भने तिमीहरूको गरिब भाइप्रति तिमीहरूले आफ्नो हृदय कठोर पार्नुहुँदैन न त मुट्ठी बाँध्नुहुन्छ ।
8 But thou shalt open thy hand wide to him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, [in that] which he wanteth.
तर तिमीहरूले उसलाई निश्चय नै आफ्नो हात खुला गर्नू, र उसको खाँचोको लागि पर्याप्त मात्रामा ऋण दिनू ।
9 Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thy eye shall be evil against thy poor brother, and thou shalt give him naught; and he shall cry to the LORD against thee, and it shall be sin to thee.
'सातौँ वर्ष अर्थात् छुटकाराको वर्ष नजिकै छ' भनी आफ्नो मनमा दुष्ट विचार ननिम्त्याउन होसियार होओ ताकि तिमीहरूका बिचमा भएको गरिब भाइप्रति लोभी नभएर तिमीहरूले उसलाई दिन सक । तिमीहरू लोभी भयौ भने त्यो पाप हुन्छ ।
10 Thou shalt surely give him, and thy heart shall not be grieved when thou givest to him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thy hand to.
निश्चय नै तिमीहरूले उसलाई दिनू, र तिमीहरूले उसलाई दिँदा हृदयमा दुःख नमान्नू किनकि यसको साटो परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूका सबै काम र तिमीहरूले हात हाल्ने सबै थोकमा आशिष् दिनुहुने छ ।
11 For the poor shall never cease from the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thy hand wide to thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
किनकि देशमा गरिबहरूको कहिल्यै अन्त्य हुने छैन । त्यसकारण म तिमीहरूलाई आज्ञा दिन्छु, 'तिमीहरूको देशमा खाँचोमा परेको तिमीहरूका भाइ र गरिबको लागि तिमीहरूले आफ्नो हात खुला राख्नू ।'
12 [And] if thy brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, shall be sold to thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee.
तिमीहरूका हिब्रू भाइ या बहिनी तिमीकहाँ बेचिएको छ र त्यसले छ वर्षसम्म सेवा गरेको छ भने सातौँ वर्षमा तिमीहरूले त्यसलाई स्वतन्त्र भएर जान दिनू ।
13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him depart empty:
तिमीहरूले त्यसलाई स्वतन्त्र भएर जान दिँदा त्यसलाई रित्तो हात नपठाओ ।
14 Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy wine-press: [of that] with which the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give to him.
तिमीहरूका भेडा-बाख्रा, खला र दाखको कोलबाट त्यसलाई प्रशस्त मात्रामा लिएर जान देओ । परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई आशिष् दिनुभएमुताबिक त्यसलाई दिनू ।
15 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bond-man in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing this day.
तिमीहरू मिश्र देशमा कमारा थियौ र परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई छुटकारा दिनुभएको थियो भनी तिमीहरूले याद गर्नू । त्यसकारण आज मैले तिमीहरूलाई यो आज्ञा दिँदै छु ।
16 And it shall be, if he shall say to thee, I will not leave thee; because he loveth thee and thy house, because he is well with thee;
त्यसले तिमीहरू र तिमीहरूको घरलाई माया गरेकोले र तिमीहरूसित राम्ररी बसेकोले 'म तपाईंहरूकहाँबाट जान्नँ' भन्यो भने
17 Then thou shalt take an awl, and thrust [it] through his ear into the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also to thy maid-servant thou shalt do likewise.
एउटा सुतारो लिएर त्यसको कानको लोती ढोकामा लगाएर छेड्नू, र त्यो जीवनभरि तिमीहरूको कमारो हुने छ । तिमीहरूका कमारीलाई पनि यसै गर्नू ।
18 It shall not seem hard to thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been of double the worth of a hired servant [to thee], in serving thee six years: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.
त्यसलाई फुक्का भएर जान दिन अप्ठ्यारो नमान्नू किनकि त्यसले छ वर्षसम्म तिमीहरूको सेवा गरेको छ र ज्यालादारी व्यक्तिले गर्ने दोब्बर काम गरेको छ । तिमीहरूले गर्ने सबै काममा परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई आशिष् दिनुहुने छ ।
19 All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep.
तिमीहरूका गाईवस्तु र भेडा-बाख्राका सबै पहिले जन्मेकाहरूलाई परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरको लागि अलग गर्नू । गाईवस्तुबाट पहिले जन्मेकाहरूलाई कुनै काम नगराउनू न त भेडा-बाख्राबाट पहिले जन्मेकाहरूबाट ऊन कत्रनू ।
20 Thou shalt eat [it] before the LORD thy God year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, thou and thy household.
परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले छान्नुहुने ठाउँमा वर्षैपिच्छे उहाँको सामु तिमीहरू र तिमीहरूको घरानाले पहिले जन्मेकोलाई खानू ।
21 And if there is [any] blemish in it, [as if it is] lame, or blind, [or hath] any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it to the LORD thy God.
त्यो लङ्गडा वा अन्धा वा त्यसमा कुनै किसिमको खोट छ भने तिमीहरूले त्यो परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरको सामु नचढाउनू ।
22 Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean [person shall eat it] alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart.
त्यसलाई तिमीहरूकै सहरभित्र खानू । हरिण वा मृगको मासु खाएझैँ शुद्ध र अशुद्ध व्यक्तिहरूले समान रूपमा खानू ।
23 Only thou shalt not eat its blood; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.
केवल तिमीहरूले यसको रगतचाहिँ नखानू। पानीझैँ गरी यसलाई भुइँमा पोखाइदिनू ।
