Deuteronomy 14
1 Ye [are] the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
௧“நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் பிள்ளைகள்; செத்தவனுக்காகக் காயப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளாமலும், உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு இடையிலே சவரம்செய்யாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.
2 For thou [art] a holy people to the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people to himself, above all the nations that [are] upon the earth.
௨நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பரிசுத்தமான மக்கள்; பூமியின் மீதெங்குமுள்ள எல்லா மக்களிலும் உங்களையே யெகோவா தமக்குச் சொந்தமான மக்களாயிருக்கத் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.
3 Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
௩“அருவருப்பான ஒன்றையும் சாப்பிடவேண்டாம்.
4 These [are] the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
௪நீங்கள் சாப்பிடுவதற்கேற்ற மிருகங்களாவன: மாடும், செம்மறியாடும், வெள்ளாடும்,
5 The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow-deer, and the wild-goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.
௫மானும், வெளிமானும், கலைமானும், வரையாடும், புள்ளிமானும், சருகுமானும், மலை ஆடுகளுமே.
6 And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, [and] cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.
௬மிருகங்களில் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்து, குளம்புகள் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்திருக்கிறதும், அசைபோடுகிறதுமான சகல மிருகங்களையும் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடலாம்;
7 Nevertheless, these ye shall not eat, of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; [therefore] they [are] unclean to you.
௭அசைபோடுகிறவைகளிலும், விரிகுளம்புள்ளவைகளிலும், நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக்கூடாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: ஒட்டகமும், முயலும், குழிமுயலுமே; அவைகள் அசைபோட்டும் அவைகளுக்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லை; அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.
8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, [is] unclean to you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.
௮பன்றியும் சாப்பிடுவதற்கு ஏற்றதல்ல; அது விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்தும், அசைபோடாதிருக்கும்; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; இவைகளின் மாம்சத்தை சாப்பிடாமலும் இவைகளின் உடலைத்தொடாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.
9 These ye shall eat, of all that [are] in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
௯“தண்ணீரிலிருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றிலும் துடுப்பும் செதிளும் உள்ளவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடலாம்.
10 And whatever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it [is] unclean to you.
௧0துடுப்பும் செதிளும் இல்லாத யாதொன்றையும் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.
11 [Of] all clean birds ye shall eat.
௧௧“சுத்தமான சகல பறவைகளையும் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடலாம்.
12 But these [are they] of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
௧௨நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக்கூடாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: கழுகும், கருடனும், கடலுராஞ்சியும்,
13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vultur after his kind,
௧௩பைரியும், வல்லூறும், சகலவித பருந்தும்,
14 And every raven after his kind,
௧௪சகலவித காகங்களும்,
15 And the owl, and the night-hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
௧௫தீக்குருவியும், கூகையும், செம்புகமும், சகலவிதமான டேகையும்,
16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
௧௬ஆந்தையும், கோட்டானும், நாரையும்,
17 And the pelican, and the gier-eagle, and the cormorant,
௧௭கூழக்கடாவும், குருகும், நீர்க்காகமும்,
18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
௧௮கொக்கும், சகலவித ராஜாளியும், புழுக்கொத்தியும், வெளவாலுமே.
19 And every creeping animal that flieth [is] unclean to you: they shall not be eaten.
௧௯பறக்கிறவைகளில் ஊர்வன யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; அவைகள் சாப்பிடக்கூடாதவைகள்.
20 [But of] all clean fowls ye may eat.
௨0சுத்தமான பறவைகள் யாவையும் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடலாம்.
21 Ye shall not eat [of] any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it to the stranger that [is] in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it to an alien: for thou [art] a holy people to the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
௨௧“தானாக இறந்துபோன எதையும் சாப்பிடவேண்டாம்; உங்கள் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற அந்நியனுக்கு அதை சாப்பிடக் கொடுக்கலாம்; அல்லது அந்நியனுக்கு அதை விற்றுப்போடலாம்; நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பரிசுத்த மக்கள். வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியை அதின் தாயின் பாலிலே சமைக்கவேண்டாம்.
22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
௨௨“நீ உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு எப்பொழுதும் பயந்திருக்கப் பழகும்படி, வருடந்தோறும் நீ விதைக்கிற விதைப்பினாலே வயலில் விளையும் எல்லாப் பலனிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து,
23 And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thy oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.
௨௩உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொள்ளும் இடத்திலே, உன் தானியத்திலும் உன் திராட்சைரசத்திலும் உன் எண்ணெயிலும் தசமபாகத்தையும் உன் ஆடுமாடுகளின் தலையீற்றுகளையும் அவருடைய சந்நிதியில் சாப்பிடுவாயாக.
24 And if the way is too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; [or] if the place is too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
௨௪உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும் காலத்தில், உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படித் தெரிந்துகொண்ட இடம் உனக்கு வெகுதூரமாக இருக்கிறதினால், வழிப்பிரயாணத்தின் வெகுதொலைவினிமித்தம், நீ அதைக் கொண்டுபோகமுடியாமல் இருக்குமானால்,
25 Then shalt thou turn [it] into money, and bind up the money in thy hand, and shalt go to the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
௨௫அதைப் பணமாக மாற்றி, பணமுடிப்பை உன் கையிலே எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா தெரிந்துகொண்ட இடத்திற்குப் போய்,
26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatever thy soul desireth, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thy household.
௨௬அங்கே உன் விருப்பப்படி ஆடுமாடு, திராட்சைரசம், மதுபானம் முதலான சகலத்தையும் பணம் கொடுத்து வாங்கி, உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய சந்நிதியில், நீயும் உன் குடும்பத்தாரும் உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற லேவியனும் சாப்பிட்டுச் சந்தோஷப்படுவீர்களாக.
27 And the Levite that [is] within thy gates, thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
௨௭லேவியனுக்கு உன்னுடன் பங்கும் சொத்தும் இல்லாததால் அவனைக் கைவிடாதே.
28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thy increase the same year, and shalt lay [it] up within thy gates:
௨௮“மூன்றாம் வருடத்தின் முடிவிலே அந்தவருடத்தில் உனக்கு வந்த பலன் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து, உன் வாசல்களில் வைக்கக்கடவாய்.
29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who [are] within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou doest.
௨௯லேவியனுக்கு உன்னுடன் பங்கும் சொத்தும் இல்லாததால், அவனும், உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற அந்நியனும், திக்கற்றவனும், விதவையும் வந்து சாப்பிட்டுத் திருப்தியடைவார்களாக; அப்பொழுது உன் கை செய்யும் வேலையிலெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்.
