< Daniel 8 >

1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, [even to] me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.
Ɔhene Belsasar adedi mfe abiɛsa so, me, Daniel, minyaa anisoadehu foforo bi a na edi nea ada ne ho adi akyerɛ me dedaw no akyi.
2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I [was] at Shushan [in] the palace, which [is] in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river Ulai.
Mʼanisoadehu mu no, mihuu sɛ na mewɔ Susa abanwa a ɛwɔ Elam mantam no mu; na mʼanisoadehu mu no, na mewɔ Asuka Ulai ho.
3 Then I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had [two] horns: and the [two] horns [were] high; but one [was] higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
Memaa mʼani so no, mihuu Odwennini a ɔwɔ mmɛn atenten abien na ogyina suka no ho wɔ mʼanim. Na ne mmɛn no woware. Na ne mmɛn no baako ware sen baako, nanso nea ɛware no, akyiri no, enyinii.
4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither [was there any] that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
Mehwɛɛ Odwennini no sɛ ɔrepempem kɔ atɔe, atifi ne anafo fam. Na aboa biara ntumi nnyina nʼanim, na obiara nni hɔ a obetumi agye obi foforo afi ne nsam. Ɔyɛɛ nea ɔpɛ, na ɔyɛɛ ɔkɛse.
5 And as I was considering, behold, a he-goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat [had] a notable horn between his eyes.
Bere a migu so redwen eyi ho no, prɛko pɛ, ɔpapo bi a ɔwɔ abɛn kɛse bi a etua nʼani abien no ntam pue fii atɔe fam, twaa mu faa asase no nyinaa so a ne nan mpo nka fam.
6 And he came to the ram that had [two] horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran to him in the fury of his power.
Ɔde nʼani kyerɛɛ Odwennini a ɔwɔ mmɛn abien no a mihuu sɛ na ogyina suka no ho no. Na ɔde ahoɔden tuu mmirika kɔɔ ne so.
7 And I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and smote the ram, and broke his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Ɔpapo no sii ntɔkɔnan a emu yɛ den, na ɔpem Odwennini no bubuu ne mmɛn abien no. Odwennini no yɛɛ mmerɛw na wantumi annyina ɔpapo no anim; enti ɔpapo no pem no hwee fam, tiatiaa no so, na obiara antumi annye no amfi ne nsam.
8 Therefore the he-goat became very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and in its stead came up four notable ones towards the four winds of heaven.
Ɔpapo no bɛyɛɛ oniɔdenfo kɛse. Nanso, nʼaniɔden no duu ne mpɔmpɔnso no, nʼabɛn kɛse no bui, na nʼanan mu no, mmɛn akɛse anan fifii a ɛkyerɛkyerɛ ɔsoro mframa anan no so.
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which became exceeding great, towards the south, and towards the east, and towards the pleasant [land].
Abɛn foforo bi puee wɔ mmɛn akɛse no mu baako ho. Efii ase kakraa bi, na ne tumi yɛɛ kɛse kɔɔ anafo ne apuei fam, de kɔɔ Asase Fɛɛfɛ no so.
10 And it grew great, [even] to the host of heaven; and it cast down [some] of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
Enyinii ara kɔkaa ɔsoro asafo, na ɔtotow asafo no mu bi a wɔyɛ nsoromma guguu fam, tiatiaa wɔn so.
11 Yes, he magnified [himself] even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily [sacrifice] was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Na ɔmaa ne ho so bɛyɛɛ ne ho ɔkɛse sɛ ɔsoro asafo no Sahene. Ogyee daa daa afɔre fii ne nsam, na ɔsɛee ne kronkron tenabea hɔ.
12 And a host was given [him] against the daily [sacrifice] by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.
Esiane atuatew no nti, wɔde ahotefo asafo no ne wɔn daa daa afɔre maa no. Na wɔtow nokware kyenee.
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said to that certain [saint] who spoke, How long [shall be] the vision [concerning] the daily [sacrifice], and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Afei metee ɔkronkronni bi sɛ ɔrekasa, na ɔkronkronni foforo bisaa no se, “Bere bɛn na anisoadehu yi bɛba mu—nea ɛfa daa daa afɔre, atuatew a ɛde ɔsɛe ba, kronkron tenabea a wobegyaa mu ama, ne Awurade asafo a wobetiatia wɔn so no?”
14 And he said to me, Until two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
Obuaa no se, “Ebedi anwummere ne anɔpa ahorow 2,300, ansa na wɔasan atew kronkron tenabea no ho.”
15 And it came to pass, when I, [even] I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
Bere a me Daniel, merehwɛ anisoadehu na mepɛɛ sɛ mete ase no, obi a ɔte sɛ ɔbarima begyinaa mʼanim.
16 And I heard a man's voice between [the banks of] Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this [man] to understand the vision.
Na metee onipa nne a ɛrefrɛ fi Ulai mu se, “Gabriel, kyerɛ saa ɔbarima yi anisoadehu no ase.”
17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said to me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end [shall be] the vision.
Ɔrebɛn faako a na migyina no, misuroe, na mede mʼanim butuw fam. Ɔka kyerɛɛ me se, “Onipa ba, te ase sɛ anisoadehu no fa awieibere no ho.”
18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face towards the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
Bere a ɔrekasa akyerɛ me no, medaa nnahɔɔ a mʼanim butuw fam. Na osoo me mu de me gyinaa mʼanan so.
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end [shall be].
Ɔkae se, “Merebɛka nea ebesi akyiri no wɔ abufuwbere mu akyerɛ wo, efisɛ anisoadehu no fa awiei bere a wɔahyɛ no ho.
20 The ram which thou sawest having [two] horns [are] the kings of Media and Persia.
Odwennini a ɔwɔ mmɛn abien no gyina hɔ ma Media ne Persia ahemfo no.
21 And the rough goat [is] the king of Grecia: and the great horn that [is] between his eyes [is] the first king.
Ɔpapo niɔdenfo no yɛ Helahene, na abɛn kɛse a etua nʼani ntam no yɛ ɔhene a odi kan no.
22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.
Mmɛn anan a ebesisii mmɛn a ebubuu no anan mu no gyina hɔ ma ahenni anan a ɛbɛsɔre afi ne man no mu, nanso wɔn tumidi renyɛ pɛ.
23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
“Wɔn adedi no rekɔ awiei no, bere a atuatewfo no ayɛ atirimɔden mmoroso no, ɔhene a ɔyɛ den, na odi akɔntɔnkyesɛm bɛsɔre.
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
Ɔbɛyɛ den yiye a emfi nʼankasa tumi mu. Ɔbɛsɛe ade ama nnipa ho adwiriw wɔn, na obedi nkonim wɔ biribiara a ɔbɛyɛ mu. Ɔbɛsɛe ahoɔdenfo ne akronkronfo.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Ɔbɛma nnaadaa agye ntin, na ɔbɛyɛ ahomaso. Ɔbɛsɛe bebree a ɔmmɔ nkae, na ɔbɛsɔre atia ahenemma mu Ɔheneba no, nanso wɔbɛsɛe no a emfi onipa ahoɔden mu.
26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told [is] true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it [shall be] for many days.
“Anwummere ne anɔpa anisoadehu a wɔde ama wo no yɛ nokware, nanso, so ano, efisɛ ɛfa daakye bi a ennya mmae ho.”
27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick [certain] days; afterward I rose, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood [it].
Me, Daniel, meyɛɛ mmerɛw, na meyaree nna kakra. Akyiri no, mesɔre kɔyɛɛ ɔhene adwuma. Anisoadehu no yɛɛ me ahodwiriw; na ɛboroo ntease so.
