< Daniel 8 >

1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, [even to] me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.
Mu mwaka ogwokusatu mu mirembe gya Kabaka Berusazza, nze Danyeri ne nfuna okwolesebwa oluvannyuma olwa kuli okwasooka.
2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I [was] at Shushan [in] the palace, which [is] in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river Ulai.
Mu kwolesebwa okwo ne ndaba nga ndi mu kibuga ekikulu Susani mu ssaza Eramu, nga ndi ku mabbali g’omugga Ulaayi.
3 Then I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had [two] horns: and the [two] horns [were] high; but one [was] higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
Ne nnyimusa amaaso gange ne ndaba, laba, endiga ennume eyalina amayembe abiri, n’amayembe ago gombi nga mawanvu naye erimu nga lisinga linnaalyo obuwanvu, ate nga lyo lyakula luvannyuma.
4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither [was there any] that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
5 And as I was considering, behold, a he-goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat [had] a notable horn between his eyes.
Awo bwe nnali nkyalowooza ku ebyo, amangwago ne walabika embuzi ennume eyalina ejjembe eddene mu kyenyi ng’eva ebugwanjuba, n’esala okuva ku luuyi olumu olw’ensi, okulaga ku luuyi olulala nga terinnye ku ttaka.
6 And he came to the ram that had [two] horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran to him in the fury of his power.
N’erumba n’obusungu bungi endiga ennume eyalina amayembe abiri, gye nalaba ng’eyimiridde ku mabbali g’omugga.
7 And I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and smote the ram, and broke his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Ne ngiraba ng’esemberera endiga eyo ennume, mu busungu obungi n’egitomera era n’emenya amayembe gaayo gombi; endiga ennume n’eggwaamu amaanyi n’eteyinza kwetaasa, embuzi ennume n’egikoona n’egwa wansi n’egirinnyirira, ne wataba n’omu eyayinza okuwonya endiga ennume eyo mu maanyi g’embuzi ennume.
8 Therefore the he-goat became very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and in its stead came up four notable ones towards the four winds of heaven.
Embuzi ennume ne yeegulumiza nnyo, naye mu maanyi gaayo amangi, ejjembe lyayo eddene ne limenyeka, we lyali amayembe ana agalabika obulungi ne gamerawo nga gadda eri embuyaga ennya ez’omu ggulu.
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which became exceeding great, towards the south, and towards the east, and towards the pleasant [land].
Mu ago ne muva ejjembe eddala ettono, ne likula mu maanyi mangi okwolekera obukiikaddyo, n’ebuvanjuba n’eri ensi ey’ekitalo ennungi.
10 And it grew great, [even] to the host of heaven; and it cast down [some] of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
Ne likula ne lituuka eri eggye ery’omu ggulu, ne lisuula abamu ku b’eggye n’emmunyeenye ezimu wansi ku nsi, ne libirinnyirira.
11 Yes, he magnified [himself] even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily [sacrifice] was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Ne lyegulumiza okwenkanankana omukulu w’eggye, ne limuggyako ekiweebwayo ekyokebwa, n’ekifo eky’awatukuvu ne lyonoonawo.
12 And a host was given [him] against the daily [sacrifice] by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.
Olw’obujeemu eggye awamu n’ekiweebwayo ekyokebwa ekya buli lunaku ne biriweebwa. Amazima ne gasuulibwa wansi, ne buli kye lyakolanga ne kiba kya mukisa.
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said to that certain [saint] who spoke, How long [shall be] the vision [concerning] the daily [sacrifice], and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Ne mpulira omutukuvu ng’ayogera, n’omutukuvu omulala n’agamba oyo eyayogera nti, “Okwolesebwa okwogera ku kiweebwayo ekyokebwa ekya buli lunaku, ne ku bujeemu okuleeta okwonoona okungi, ne ku kuwaayo okwa watukuvu, ne ku batukuvu abalinnyirirwa, kulituukirira ddi era ebyo byonna birikoma ddi?”
14 And he said to me, Until two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
N’aŋŋamba nti, “Okutuusa ng’ennaku enkumi bbiri mu bisatu ziyiseewo.”
15 And it came to pass, when I, [even] I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
Awo nze Danyeri bwe namala okufuna okwolesebwa okwo nga nkyagezaako okutegeera amakulu gaakwo, laba ne wayimirira mu maaso gange ekifaananyi ng’eky’omusajja.
16 And I heard a man's voice between [the banks of] Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this [man] to understand the vision.
Ne mpulira eddoboozi ly’omusajja emitala w’omugga Ulaayi, eryakoowoola, ne lyogera nti, “Gabulyeri, tegeeza omusajja oyo amakulu g’okwolesebwa okwo.”
17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said to me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end [shall be] the vision.
Awo n’asembera okumpi ne we nnali nnyimiridde, ne ntya, ne neeyala wansi. Naye n’aŋŋamba nti, “Tegeera, ggwe omwana w’omuntu, ng’okwolesebwa, kwogera ku biro eby’enkomerero.”
18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face towards the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
Awo bwe yali akyayogera nange, ne nkwatibwa otulo otungi ennyo, ng’amaaso gange nga ngavuunise ku ttaka, ye n’ankwatako n’angolokosa.
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end [shall be].
N’ayogera nti, “Laba, ndikumanyisa ebiribaawo mu biro eby’enkomerero eby’okubonaabona, kubanga okwolesebwa kwogera ku kiseera ekyalondebwa eky’enkomerero.
20 The ram which thou sawest having [two] horns [are] the kings of Media and Persia.
Endiga ennume gye walaba ey’amayembe abiri, be bakabaka ab’Obumeedi, n’Obuperusi.
21 And the rough goat [is] the king of Grecia: and the great horn that [is] between his eyes [is] the first king.
N’embuzi ennume endaawo ye kabaka w’e Buyonaani, n’ejjembe eddene eriri mu kyenyi kyayo ye kabaka ow’olubereberye.
22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.
N’amayembe ana agadda mu kifo kyalyo nga limenyese, bwe bwakabaka obuna obuliva mu ggwanga lye, naye tebuliba na buyinza bwe bumu ng’obubwe.
23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
“Mu biro eby’enkomerero eby’okufuga kwabwe, abajeemu nga batandise okusobya ennyo, kabaka omuzira ate omukambwe, ng’alina obukoddyo bungi alivaayo.
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
Aliba n’amaanyi mangi, naye si lwa buyinza bwe ye, era alireeta entiisa nnene, era aliba wa mukisa mu buli ky’akola. Alizikiriza abantu ab’amaanyi n’abantu abatukuvu.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Aliba mulimba nnyo, n’aleetera obulimba okweyongera, era alyegulumiza nnyo. Aligwikiriza abantu bangi n’abazikiriza, era n’alumba n’Omukulu w’abalangira. Wabula naye alizikirizibwa so si n’amaanyi ag’obuntu.
26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told [is] true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it [shall be] for many days.
“Okwolesebwa okukwata ku biro eby’oku makya ne ku by’akawungeezi, kwe wafuna kwa mazima, naye sirikira okwolesebwa okwo, kubanga kwogera ku biro ebigenda okujja.”
27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick [certain] days; afterward I rose, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood [it].
Nze Danyeri ne mpulira nga nkooye nnyo era ne ndwala okumala ennaku. N’oluvannyuma nga nzisuuse ne nzira ku mirimu gya kabaka, kyokka okwolesebwa okwo ne kuntawanya nnyo mu mutima, ate nga sitegeera makulu gaakwo.
