Amos 1
1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
As palavras de Amós, que estava entre os pastores de Tecoa, que ele viu a respeito de Israel nos dias de Uzias, rei de Judá, e nos dias de Jeroboão, filho de Joás, rei de Israel, dois anos antes do terremoto.
2 And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
disse ele: “Yahweh bramirá de Zion, e pronunciar sua voz a partir de Jerusalém; e os pastos dos pastores chorarão, e o topo do Carmel murchará”.
3 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away its [punishment]; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões de Damasco, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição, porque eles debulharam Gilead com instrumentos de debulha de ferro;
4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
but Vou mandar um incêndio para a casa de Hazael, e devorará os palácios de Ben Hadad.
5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the scepter from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity to Kir, saith the LORD.
Vou quebrar a barra de Damasco, e cortar o habitante do vale de Aven, e aquele que segura o ceptro da casa do Éden; e o povo da Síria irá em cativeiro para Kir”. diz Yahweh.
6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away its [punishment]: because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver [them] up to Edom:
diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões de Gaza, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição, porque levaram em cativeiro toda a comunidade, para entregá-los à Edom;
7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour its palaces:
but Enviarei um incêndio no muro de Gaza, e devorará seus palácios.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the scepter from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
Vou cortar o habitante de Ashdod, e aquele que detém o ceptro de Ashkelon; e eu vou virar minha mão contra Ekron; e o remanescente dos filisteus perecerá”. diz o Senhor Yahweh.
9 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not turn away its [punishment]: because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões de Tiro, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição; porque eles entregaram toda a comunidade à Edom, e não se lembrava do convênio fraterno;
10 But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, which shall devour its palaces:
but Vou mandar um incêndio na parede de Tyre, e devorará seus palácios”.
11 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away its [punishment]: because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and [he] kept his wrath for ever:
diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões de Edom, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição, porque ele perseguiu seu irmão com a espada e lançar fora toda piedade, e sua raiva se enfurecia continuamente, e ele manteve sua ira para sempre;
12 But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
but Vou mandar um incêndio em Teman, e devorará os palácios de Bozrah”.
13 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away [their punishment]: because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões das crianças de Ammon, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição, porque rasgaram as mulheres grávidas de Gilead, que eles possam ampliar sua fronteira.
14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour its palaces, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
Mas eu acenderei um fogo na parede de Rabbah, e devorará seus palácios, com gritos no dia da batalha, com uma tempestade no dia do redemoinho;
15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
e seu rei irão para o cativeiro, ele e seus príncipes juntos”. diz Yahweh.
