Acts 28
1 And when they had escaped, then they knew that the isle was called Melita.
१जब हम बच निकले, तो पता चला कि यह टापू माल्टा कहलाता है।
2 And the barbarous people showed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
२और वहाँ के निवासियों ने हम पर अनोखी कृपा की; क्योंकि मेंह के कारण जो बरस रहा था और जाड़े के कारण, उन्होंने आग सुलगाकर हम सब को ठहराया।
3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid [them] on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
३जब पौलुस ने लकड़ियों का गट्ठा बटोरकर आग पर रखा, तो एक साँप आँच पाकर निकला और उसके हाथ से लिपट गया।
4 And when the barbarians saw the animal hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
४जब उन निवासियों ने साँप को उसके हाथ में लटके हुए देखा, तो आपस में कहा, “सचमुच यह मनुष्य हत्यारा है, कि यद्यपि समुद्र से बच गया, तो भी न्याय ने जीवित रहने न दिया।”
5 And he shook off the animal into the fire, and felt no harm.
५तब उसने साँप को आग में झटक दिया, और उसे कुछ हानि न पहुँची।
6 Yet they looked when he would have swelled, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
६परन्तु वे प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे कि वह सूज जाएगा, या एकाएक गिरकर मर जाएगा, परन्तु जब वे बहुत देर तक देखते रहे और देखा कि उसका कुछ भी नहीं बिगड़ा, तो और ही विचार कर कहा, “यह तो कोई देवता है।”
7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the isle, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.
७उस जगह के आस-पास पुबलियुस नामक उस टापू के प्रधान की भूमि थी: उसने हमें अपने घर ले जाकर तीन दिन मित्रभाव से पहुनाई की।
8 And it came to pass that the father of Publius lay sick with a fever, and a bloody-flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
८पुबलियुस के पिता तेज बुखार और पेचिश से रोगी पड़ा था। अतः पौलुस ने उसके पास घर में जाकर प्रार्थना की, और उस पर हाथ रखकर उसे चंगा किया।
9 So when this was done, others also who had diseases in the isle, came, and were healed:
९जब ऐसा हुआ, तो उस टापू के बाकी बीमार आए, और चंगे किए गए।
10 Who also honored us with many honors; and when we departed, they laded [us] with such things as were necessary.
१०उन्होंने हमारा बहुत आदर किया, और जब हम चलने लगे, तो जो कुछ हमारे लिये आवश्यक था, जहाज पर रख दिया।
11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.
११तीन महीने के बाद हम सिकन्दरिया के एक जहाज पर चल निकले, जो उस टापू में जाड़े काट रहा था, और जिसका चिन्ह दियुसकूरी था।
12 And landing at Syracuse, we tarried [there] three days.
१२सुरकूसा में लंगर डाल करके हम तीन दिन टिके रहे।
13 And from thence we made a circuit, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:
१३वहाँ से हम घूमकर रेगियुम में आए; और एक दिन के बाद दक्षिणी हवा चली, तब दूसरे दिन पुतियुली में आए।
14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went towards Rome.
१४वहाँ हमको कुछ भाई मिले, और उनके कहने से हम उनके यहाँ सात दिन तक रहे; और इस रीति से हम रोम को चले।
15 And from thence when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii-forum, and the Three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.
१५वहाँ से वे भाई हमारा समाचार सुनकर अप्पियुस के चौक और तीन-सराय तक हमारी भेंट करने को निकल आए, जिन्हें देखकर पौलुस ने परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद किया, और ढाढ़स बाँधा।
16 And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself, with a soldier that kept him.
१६जब हम रोम में पहुँचे, तो पौलुस को एक सिपाही के साथ जो उसकी रखवाली करता था, अकेले रहने की आज्ञा हुई।
17 And it came to pass, that after three days, Paul called together the chief of the Jews. And when they were assembled, he said to them, Men, brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
१७तीन दिन के बाद उसने यहूदियों के प्रमुख लोगों को बुलाया, और जब वे इकट्ठे हुए तो उनसे कहा, “हे भाइयों, मैंने अपने लोगों के या पूर्वजों की प्रथाओं के विरोध में कुछ भी नहीं किया, फिर भी बन्दी बनाकर यरूशलेम से रोमियों के हाथ सौंपा गया।
18 Who when they had examined me, would have let [me] go, because there was no cause of death in me.
१८उन्होंने मुझे जाँचकर छोड़ देना चाहा, क्योंकि मुझ में मृत्यु के योग्य कोई दोष न था।
19 But when the Jews spoke against [it], I was constrained to appeal to Cesar; not that I had aught to accuse my nation of.
१९परन्तु जब यहूदी इसके विरोध में बोलने लगे, तो मुझे कैसर की दुहाई देनी पड़ी; यह नहीं कि मुझे अपने लोगों पर कोई दोष लगाना था।
20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see [you], and to speak with [you]: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
२०इसलिए मैंने तुम को बुलाया है, कि तुम से मिलूँ और बातचीत करूँ; क्योंकि इस्राएल की आशा के लिये मैं इस जंजीर से जकड़ा हुआ हूँ।”
21 And they said to him, We have neither received letters from Judea concerning thee, neither have any of the brethren that came shown or spoken any harm of thee.
२१उन्होंने उससे कहा, “न हमने तेरे विषय में यहूदियों से चिट्ठियाँ पाईं, और न भाइयों में से किसी ने आकर तेरे विषय में कुछ बताया, और न बुरा कहा।
22 But we desire to hear from thee, what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
२२परन्तु तेरा विचार क्या है? वही हम तुझ से सुनना चाहते हैं, क्योंकि हम जानते हैं, कि हर जगह इस मत के विरोध में लोग बातें करते हैं।”
23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into [his] lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and [out of] the prophets, from morning till evening.
२३तब उन्होंने उसके लिये एक दिन ठहराया, और बहुत से लोग उसके यहाँ इकट्ठे हुए, और वह परमेश्वर के राज्य की गवाही देता हुआ, और मूसा की व्यवस्था और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की पुस्तकों से यीशु के विषय में समझा-समझाकर भोर से साँझ तक वर्णन करता रहा।
24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
२४तब कुछ ने उन बातों को मान लिया, और कुछ ने विश्वास न किया।
25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after Paul had spoken one word, Well spoke the Holy Spirit by Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,
२५जब वे आपस में एकमत न हुए, तो पौलुस के इस एक बात के कहने पर चले गए, “पवित्र आत्मा ने यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा तुम्हारे पूर्वजों से ठीक ही कहा,
26 Saying, Go to this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive.
२६‘जाकर इन लोगों से कह, कि सुनते तो रहोगे, परन्तु न समझोगे, और देखते तो रहोगे, परन्तु न बूझोगे;
27 For the heart of this people is become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with [their] eyes, and hear with [their] ears, and understand with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
२७क्योंकि इन लोगों का मन मोटा, और उनके कान भारी हो गए हैं, और उन्होंने अपनी आँखें बन्द की हैं, ऐसा न हो कि वे कभी आँखों से देखें, और कानों से सुनें, और मन से समझें और फिरें, और मैं उन्हें चंगा करूँ।’
28 Be it known therefore to you, that the salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it.
२८“अतः तुम जानो, कि परमेश्वर के इस उद्धार की कथा अन्यजातियों के पास भेजी गई है, और वे सुनेंगे।”
29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
२९जब उसने यह कहा तो यहूदी आपस में बहुत विवाद करने लगे और वहाँ से चले गए।
30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in to him,
३०और पौलुस पूरे दो वर्ष अपने किराये के घर में रहा,
31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
३१और जो उसके पास आते थे, उन सबसे मिलता रहा और बिना रोक-टोक बहुत निडर होकर परमेश्वर के राज्य का प्रचार करता और प्रभु यीशु मसीह की बातें सिखाता रहा।
