Acts 15
1 And certain men who came down from Judea, taught the brethren, [and said], Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
Então alguns que tinham descido da Judeia ensinavam os irmãos, dizendo: Se vos não circuncidardes, conforme o uso de Moisés, não podeis salvar-vos.
2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, should go to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.
Feita pois por Paulo e Barnabé não pequena dissensão e contenda contra eles, resolveu-se que Paulo e Barnabé, e alguns dentre eles, subissem a Jerusalém, aos apóstolos e aos anciãos, sobre aquela questão.
3 And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice, and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy to all the brethren.
De sorte que eles, acompanhados pela igreja, passavam pela Fenícia e por Samaria, contando a conversão dos gentios; e davam grande alegria a todos os irmãos.
4 And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
E, vindos a Jerusalém, foram recebidos pela igreja e pelos apóstolos e anciãos, e lhes anunciavam quão grandes coisas Deus tinha feito com eles.
5 But there rose certain of the sect of the Pharisees, who believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command [them] to keep the law of Moses.
Porém alguns da seita dos fariseus, que tinham crido, se levantaram, dizendo que era míster circuncida-los e mandar-lhes que guardassem a lei de Moisés.
6 And the apostles and elders came together to consider of this matter.
Congregaram-se pois os apóstolos e os anciãos para examinar este negócio.
7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose and said to them, Men, brethren, ye know that a good while ago, God made choice among us, that the Gentiles, by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
E, havendo grande contenda, levanou-se Pedro e disse-lhes: Varões irmãos, bem sabeis que já há muito tempo Deus me elegeu dentre nós, para que os gentios ouvissem da minha boca a palavra do evangelho, e cressem.
8 And God, who knoweth the hearts, bore them witness, giving to them the Holy Spirit, even as [he did] to us:
E Deus, que conhece os corações, deu testemunho deles, dando-lhes o Espírito Santo, assim como também a nós;
9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
E não fez diferença alguma entre eles e nós, purificando os seus corações pela fé.
10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
Agora, pois, porque tentais a Deus, pondo sobre a cerviz dos discípulos um jugo que nem nossos pais nem nós pudemos suportar?
11 But we believe, that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved even as they.
Antes cremos que seremos salvos pela graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, como eles também.
12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought by them among the Gentiles.
Então toda a multidão se calou, e escutava a Barnabé e a Paulo, que contavam quão grandes sinais e prodígios Deus havia feito por meio deles entre os gentios.
13 And after they held their peace, James answered, saying, Men, brethren, hearken to me.
E, havendo-se eles calado, tomou Thiago a palavra, dizendo: Varões irmãos, ouvi-me:
14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take from among them a people for his name.
Simão relatou como Deus primeiramente visitou os gentios, para tomar deles um povo para o seu nome.
15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
E com isto concordam as palavras dos profetas; como está escrito:
16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins of it; and I will set it up:
Depois disto voltarei, e reedificarei o tabernáculo de David, que está caído, e reedificarei as suas ruínas, e tornarei a levantá-lo.
17 That the residue of men may seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
Para que o resto dos homens busque ao Senhor, e todos os gentios, sobre os quais o meu nome é invocado, diz o Senhor, que faz todas estas coisas.
São notórias a Deus desde toda a eternidade as suas obras. (aiōn g165)
19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, who from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
Pelo que julgo que não se deve perturbar aqueles, dentre os gentios, que se convertem a Deus,
20 But that we write to them that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and [from] lewdness, and [from] things strangled, and [from] blood.
Mas escrever-lhes que se abstenham das contaminações dos ídolos, e da fornicação, e das carnes sufocadas e do sangue.
21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath.
Porque Moisés, desde os tempos antigos, tem em cada cidade quem o pregue, e cada sábado é lido nas sinagogas.
22 Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas; [namely], Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
Então pareceu bem aos apóstolos e aos anciãos, com toda a igreja, eleger deles alguns varões, e envia-los com Paulo e Barnabé a Antiochia, a saber: Judas, chamado Barsabbás, e Silas, varões distintos entre os irmãos.
23 And they wrote [letters] by them after this manner; The apostles, and elders, and brethren, [send] greeting to the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia.
E por eles escreveram o seguinte: Os apóstolos, e os anciãos e os irmãos, aos irmãos dentre os gentios que estão em Antiochia, e Síria e Cilicia, saúde.
24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain who went out from us, have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, [Ye must] be circumcised, and keep the law; to whom we gave no [such] commandment:
Porquanto ouvimos que alguns que sairam dentre nós vos perturbaram com palavras, e transtornaram as vossas almas, dizendo que devieis circuncidar-vos e guardar a lei, aos quais nada mandamos:
25 It seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you, with our beloved Barnabas and Paul:
Pareceu-nos bem, reunidos concordemente, eleger alguns varões, e envia-los com os nossos amados Barnabé e Paulo,
26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Homens que já expuzeram as suas vidas pelo nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who will also tell [you] the same things by mouth.
Enviamos pois Judas e Silas, os quais de boca vos anunciarão também o mesmo.
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
Porque pareceu bem ao Espírito Santo, e a nós, não vos impôr mais encargo algum, senão estas coisas necessárias:
29 That ye abstain from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from lewdness: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye will do well. Fare ye well.
Que vos abstenhais das coisas sacrificadas aos ídolos, e do sangue, e da carne sufocada, e da fornicação: das quais coisas fazeis bem se vos guardardes. Bem vos vá.
30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had convened the multitude, they delivered the epistle.
Tendo-se eles pois despedido, partiram para Antiochia, e, ajuntando a multidão, entregaram a carta.
31 [Which] when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
E, lendo-a, alegraram-se, pela consolação a que lhes causava.
32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed [them].
Depois Judas e Silas, que também eram profetas, exortaram e confirmaram os irmãos com muitas palavras.
33 And after they had tarried [there] a time, they were dismissed in peace from the brethren to the apostles.
E, detendo-se ali algum tempo, os irmãos os deixaram voltar em paz para os apóstolos;
34 Notwithstanding, it pleased Silas to abide there still.
Mas pareceu bem a Silas ficar ali.
35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
E Paulo e Barnabé ficaram em Antiochia, ensinando e pregando, com muitos outros, a palavra do Senhor.
36 And some days after, Paul said to Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren, in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, [and see] how they do.
E alguns dias depois disse Paulo a Barnabé: Tornemos a visitar nossos irmãos por cada cidade em que já anunciamos a palavra do Senhor, a ver como estão.
37 And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
E Barnabé aconselhava que tomassem consigo a João, chamado Marcos.
38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
Mas a Paulo parecia razoável que não tomassem consigo aquele que desde Pamphylia se tinha apartado deles, e não tinha ido com eles àquela obra.
39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed, separating one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed to Cyprus.
E tal contenda houve entre eles, que se apartaram um do outro. Barnabé, levando consigo a Marcos, navegou para Chypre.
40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being commended by the brethren to the grace of God.
E Paulo, tendo escolhido a Silas, partiu, encomendado pelos irmãos à graça de Deus.
41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
E foi passando por Síria e Cilicia, confirmando as igrejas.
