2 Timothy 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times will come.

2 For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Porque los hombres serán amantes de sí mismos, amantes del dinero, jactanciosos, arrogantes, blasfemos, desobedientes a los padres, ingratos, impíos,

3 Without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

sin afecto natural, implacables, calumniadores, sin autocontrol, feroces, no amantes del bien,

4 Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

traidores, testarudos, engreídos, amantes de los placeres más que de Dios,

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying its power: from such turn away.

teniendo una forma de piedad pero habiendo negado su poder. Apartaos también de éstos.

6 For of this sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts;

Porque algunos de ellos son personas que se introducen en las casas y llevan cautivas a mujeres crédulas cargadas de pecados, llevadas por diversas concupiscencias,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

siempre aprendiendo y nunca pudiendo llegar al conocimiento de la verdad.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Así como Janés y Jambres se opusieron a Moisés, también éstos se oponen a la verdad, hombres de mente corrompida, que en lo que respecta a la fe son rechazados.

9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly will be manifest to all [men], as theirs also was.

Pero no seguirán adelante. Porque su insensatez será evidente para todos los hombres, como también lo fue la de ellos.

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience,

Pero ustedes siguieron mi enseñanza, mi conducta, mi propósito, mi fe, mi paciencia, mi amor, mi constancia,

11 Persecutions, afflictions which came to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of [them] all the Lord delivered me.

mis persecuciones y mis sufrimientos, que me sucedieron en Antioquía, Iconio y Listra. Soporté esas persecuciones. El Señor me libró de todas ellas.

12 And all indeed that will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

Sí, y todos los que desean vivir piadosamente en Cristo Jesús sufrirán persecución.

13 But evil men and seducers will become worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Pero los hombres malvados y los impostores irán de mal en peor, engañando y siendo engañados.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing from whom thou hast learned [them];

Pero vosotros permanecéis en lo que habéis aprendido y os habéis asegurado, sabiendo de quién lo habéis aprendido.

15 And that from a child thou hast known the sacred scriptures, which are able to make thee wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Desde la infancia, habéis conocido las Sagradas Escrituras, que pueden haceros sabios para la salvación mediante la fe que es en Cristo Jesús.

16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Toda la Escritura es inspirada por Dios y es útil para enseñar, para reprender, para corregir y para instruir en la justicia,

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works.

a fin de que cada persona que pertenece a Dios sea completa, completamente equipada para toda buena obra.
