2 Samuel 21
1 Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, [It is] for Saul, and for [his] bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
और दाऊद के दिनों में लगातार तीन साल काल पड़ा, और दाऊद ने ख़ुदावन्द से दरियाफ़्त किया, ख़ुदावन्द ने फ़रमाया, “यह साऊल और उसके ख़ूँरेज़ घराने की वजह से है, क्यूँकि उसने जिब'ऊँनियों को क़त्ल किया।”
2 And the king called the Gibeonites, and said to them; (now the Gibeonites [were] not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn to them: and Saul sought to slay them, in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
तब बादशाह ने जिब'ऊँनियों को बुलाकर उनसे बात की, यह जिब'ऊनी बनी इस्राईल में से नहीं बल्कि बचे हुए अमूरियों में से थे और बनी इस्राईल ने उनसे क़सम खाई थी और साऊल ने बनी इस्राईल और बनी यहूदाह की ख़ातिर अपनी गरम जोशी में उनको क़त्ल कर डालना चाहा था।
3 Wherefore David said to the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and with what shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
इसलिए दाऊद ने जिब'ऊनियों से कहा, “मैं तुम्हारे लिए क्या करूँ और मैं किस चीज़ से कफ़्फ़ारा दूँ, ताकि तुम ख़ुदावन्द की मीरास को दुआ दो?”
4 And the Gibeonites said to him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, [that] will I do for you.
जिब'ऊनियों ने उससे कहा कि “हमारे और साऊल या उसके घराने के दरमियान चाँदी या सोने का कोई मु'आमला नहीं और न हमको यह इख़्तियार है कि हम इस्राईल के किसी आदमी को जान से मारें।” उसने कहा, “जो कुछ तुम कहो मैं वही तुम्हारे लिए करूँगा।”
5 And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us [that] we should be destroyed from remaining within the borders of Israel,
उन्होंने बादशाह को जवाब दिया कि “जिस शख़्स ने हमारा नास किया और हमारे ख़िलाफ़ ऐसी तदबीर निकाली कि हम मिटा दिए जायें, और इस्राईल की किसी बादशाहत में बाक़ी न रहें।
6 Let seven men of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them up to the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, [whom] the LORD chose. And the king said, I will give [them].
उसी के बेटों में से सात आदमी हमारे हवाले कर दिए जायें, और हम उनको ख़ुदावन्द के लिए चुने हुए साऊल के जिबा' में लटका देंगे।” बादशाह ने कहा, “मैं दे दूँगा।”
7 But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the LORD'S oath that [was] between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
लेकिन बादशाह ने मिफ़ीबोसत बिन यूनतन बिन साऊल को ख़ुदावन्द की क़सम की वजह से जो उनके दाऊद और साऊल के बेटे यूनतन के दरमियान हुई थी बचा रख्खा।
8 But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
लेकिन बादशाह ने अय्याह की बेटी रिस्फ़ह के दोनों बेटों अरमोनी और मिफ़ीबोसत को जो साऊल से हुए थे और साऊल की बेटी मीकल के पाँचों बेटों को जो बरज़िली महूलाती के बेटे 'अदरीएल से हुए थे लेकर।
9 And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them on the hill before the LORD: and they fell [all] seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first [days], in the beginning of barley harvest.
उनको जिब'ऊनियों के हवाले किया और उन्होंने उनको पहाड़ पर ख़ुदावन्द के सामने लटका दिया, इसलिए वह सातों एक साथ मारे, यह सब फ़सल काटने के दिनों में या'नी जौ की फ़सल के शुरू' में मारे गये।
10 And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
तब अय्याह की बेटी रिस्फ़ह ने टाट लिया और फ़सल के शुरू' से उसको अपने लिए चट्टान पर बिछाए रही जब तक आसमान से उन पर बारिश न हुई और उसने न तो दिन के वक़्त हवा के परिन्दों को और न रात के वक़्त जंगली दरिन्दों को उन पर आने दिया।
11 And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah the concubine of Saul had done.
और दाऊद को बताया गया कि साऊल की बाँदी अय्याह की बेटी रिस्फ़ह ने ऐसा ऐसा किया।
12 And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
तब दाऊद ने जाकर साऊल की हड्डियों और उसके बेटे यूनतन की हड्डियों को यबीस जिल'आद के लोगों से लिया जो उनको बैत शान के चौक में से चुरा लाये थे, जहाँ फ़िलिस्तियों ने उनको जिस दिन कि उन्होंने साऊल को जिलबू'आ में क़त्ल किया टाँग दिया था।
13 And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
इसलिए वह साऊल की हड्डियों और उसके बेटे यूनतन की हड्डियों को वहाँ से ले आया, और उन्होंने उनकी भी हड्डियाँ जमा' कीं जो लटकाए गये थे।
14 And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son they buried in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulcher of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was entreated for the land.
और उन्होंने साऊल और उसके बेटे यूनतन की हड्डियों को जिला' में जो बिनयमीन की सर ज़मीन में है उसी के बाप क़ैस की क़ब्र में दफ़न किया और उन्होंने जो कुछ बादशाह ने फ़रमाया था सब पूरा किया, इसके बाद ख़ुदा ने उस मुल्क के बारे में दुआ सुनी।
15 Moreover, the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David became faint.
और फ़िलिस्ती फिर इस्राईलियों से लड़े और दाऊद अपने ख़ादिमों के साथ निकला और फ़िलिस्तियों से लड़ा और दाऊद बहुत थक गया।
16 And Ishbi-benob, who [was] of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred [shekels] of brass in weight, he being girded with a new [sword], thought to have slain David.
और इश्बी बनोब ने जो देवज़ादों में से था और जिसका नेज़ह वज़न में पीतल की तीन सौ मिस्क़ाल था और वह एक नई तलवार बाँधे था चाहा कि दाऊद को क़त्ल करे।
17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succored him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, Thou shalt go out no more with us to battle, that thou mayest not extinguish the light of Israel.
लेकिन ज़रोयाह के बेटे अबीशै ने उसकी मदद की और उस फ़िलिस्ती को ऐसी मार लगाई कि उसे मार दिया, तब दाऊद के लोगों ने क़सम खाकर उससे कहा कि “तू फिर कभी हमारे साथ जंग पर नहीं जाएगा ऐसा न हो कि तू इस्राईल का चराग़ बुझादे।”
18 And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, who [was] of the sons of the giant.
इसके बाद फ़िलिस्तियों के साथ जूब में लड़ाई हुई, तब हूसाती सिब्बकी ने सफ़ को जो देवज़ादों में से था क़त्ल किया।
19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Beth-lehemite, slew [the brother of] Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear [was] like a weaver's beam.
और फिर फ़िलिस्तियों से जूब में एक और लड़ाई हुई, तब इल्हनान बिन या'अरी अरजीम ने जो बैतुल-हम का था जाती जोलियत को क़त्ल किया जिसके नेज़ह की छड़ जुलाहे के शहतीर की तरह थी।
20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of [great] stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
फिर जात में लड़ाई हुई और वहाँ एक बड़ा लम्बा शख़्स था, उसके दोनों हाथों और दोनों पावों में छ: छ: उंगलियाँ थीं जो सब की सब गिनती में चौबीस थीं और यह भी उस देव से पैदा हुआ था।
21 And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah the brother of David slew him.
जब इसने इस्राईलियों की फ़ज़ीहत की तो दाऊद के भाई सिमआ के बेटे यूनतन ने उसे क़त्ल किया।
22 These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
यह चारों उस देव से जात में पैदा हुए थे, और वह दाऊद के हाथ से और उसके ख़ादिमों के हाथ से मारे गये।
