2 Kings 25
1 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth [day] of the month, [that] Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it on all sides.
১সিদিকিয়ের রাজত্বের নবম বছরের দশম মাসের দশ দিনের র দিন নবূখদ্নিৎসর বাবিলের রাজা তাঁর সব সৈন্যদল নিয়ে যিরূশালেমের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে এলেন। তিনি শহরের বাইরে শিবির তৈরী করলেন এবং শহরের চারপাশে ঘিরে উঁচু দেয়াল তৈরী করলেন।
2 And the city was besieged to the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
২রাজা সিদিকিয়ের রাজত্বের এগারো বছর পর্যন্ত শহরটা অবরোধ করে রাখা হয়েছিল।
3 And on the ninth [day] of the [fourth] month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.
৩সেই বছরে চতুর্থ মাসের নয় দিনের র দিন শহরে দূর্ভিক্ষের অবস্থা এমন বেশি হল যে, দেশের লোকদের জন্য কিছুই খাদ্য ছিল না।
4 And the city was broken up, and all the men of war [fled] by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which [is] by the king's garden: (now the Chaldees [were] against the city on all sides: ) and [the king] went the way towards the plain.
৪পরে শহরের একটা জায়গা ভেঙে গেল এবং রাতের বেলা যিহূদার সমস্ত সৈন্য রাজার বাগানের কাছে দুই দেয়ালের মাঝখানের ফটক দিয়ে পালিয়ে গেল। যদিও কলদীয়েরা তখনও শহরটা চারিদিকে ঘেরাও করে ছিল। আর রাজা অরাবার রাস্তার দিকে চলে গেলেন।
5 And the army of the Chaldees pursued the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.
৫কিন্তু কলদীয় সৈন্যদল সিদিকিয় রাজার পিছনে তাড়া করে যিরীহোর উপত্যকাতে তাঁকে ধরে ফেলল। তাঁর সমস্ত সৈন্য তাঁর কাছ থেকে আলাদা হয়ে গিয়ে ছড়িয়ে পড়েছিল।
6 So they took the king, and brought him to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him.
৬তাঁরা রাজাকে বন্দী করে রিব্লাতে বাবিলের রাজার কাছে নিয়ে গেল। সেখানে তারা তাঁর উপর শাস্তির আদেশ দিল।
7 And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.
৭সৈন্যেরা সিদিকিয়ের চোখের সামনেই তাঁর ছেলেদের হত্যা করলো। তারপর তাঁর চোখ দুটি তুলে ফেলে তাঁকে ব্রোঞ্জের শিকল দিয়ে বাঁধলো এবং তাঁকে বাবিলে নিয়ে গেল।
8 And in the fifth month, on the seventh [day] of the month, which [is] the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, to Jerusalem:
৮পরে বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদ্নিৎসরের রাজত্বের ঊনিশ বছরের পঞ্চম মাসের সপ্তম দিনের বাবিল রাজার দাস নবূষরদন নামে রক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি যিরূশালেমে আসলেন।
9 And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great [man's] house he burnt with fire.
৯তিনি সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে, রাজবাড়ীতে এবং যিরূশালেমের সমস্ত বাড়িতে আগুন ধরিয়ে দিলেন। শহরের সমস্ত প্রধান বাড়িগুলিও তিনি পুড়িয়ে দিলেন।
10 And all the army of the Chaldees, that [were with] the captain of the guard, broke down the walls of Jerusalem on all sides.
১০রাজার রক্ষীদলের সেনাপতির অধীনে সমস্ত বাবিলীয় সৈন্যদল যিরূশালেমের চারিদিকের দেয়াল ভেঙে ফেলল।
11 Now the rest of the people [that were] left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carry away.
১১শহরের বাকি লোকরা যারা থেকে গেছিল এবং যারা দূরে নির্জন জায়গায় বাবিলের রাজার পক্ষে গিয়েছিল তাদের সবাইকে রক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি নবূষরদন বন্দী করে নিয়ে গেলেন,
12 But the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land [to be] vine-dressers and husbandmen.
১২কিন্তু আঙুর ক্ষেত দেখাশোনা ও জমি চাষ করবার জন্য কিছু গরিব লোককে রক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি দেশে রেখে গেলেন।
13 And the pillars of brass that [were] in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brazen sea that [was] in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon.
১৩কলদীয়েরা সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের ব্রোঞ্জের যে দুটি থাম ছিল এবং গামলা বসাবার ব্রোঞ্জের দানিগুলি এবং পিতলের বিরাট পাত্রটি ভেঙে টুকরো টুকরো করে বাবিলে নিয়ে গেলন।
14 And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they ministered, they took away.
১৪এছাড়া সব পাত্র, বেল্চা, সল্তে চিম্টা, হাতা এবং উপাসনা গৃহে সেবা কাজের জন্য অন্যান্য সমস্ত ব্রোঞ্জের জিনিস কলদীয়েরা নিয়ে গেল।
15 And the fire-pans, and the bowls, [and] such things as [were] of gold, [in] gold, and of silver, [in] silver, the captain of the guard took away.
১৫আর আগুন রাখার পাত্র এবং গামলা যে গুলি সোনা ও রূপা র তৈরী, সে সমস্ত জিনিসও রাজার রক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি নিয়ে গেলেন।
16 The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
১৬সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের জন্য শলোমন যে দুটি থাম, বড় জলপাত্র এবং আসনগুলো তৈরী করিয়েছিলেন সেগুলিতে এতো ব্রোঞ্জ ছিল যে ওজন করা অসম্ভব ছিল।
17 The hight of the one pillar [was] eighteen cubits, and the capital upon it [was] brass: and the hight of the capital three cubits; and the wreathen work, and pomegranates upon the capital around, all of brass: and like to these had the second pillar with wreathen work.
১৭প্রত্যেকটি থাম ছিল আঠারো হাত উঁচু ও তার উপরে মাথা ছিল যার উচ্চতা ছিল তিন হাত উঁচু। মাথাটার চারপাশ ব্রোঞ্জের শিকল ও ব্রোঞ্জের ডালিম দিয়ে সাজানো ছিল। দ্বিতীয় থামটিও প্রথমটির মতই তৈরী ছিল।
18 And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
১৮প্রধান যাজক সরায়, দ্বিতীয় যাজক সফনিয় ও তিনজন দারোয়ানকে রক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি বন্দী করে নিয়ে গেলেন।
19 And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king's presence, who were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land [that were] found in the city:
১৯যারা তখনও শহরে ছিল তাদের মধ্য থেকে তিনি যোদ্ধাদের উপরে নিযুক্ত একজন কর্মচারী ও রাজার পাঁচজন উপদেশদাতাকে ধরলেন। এছাড়া সেনাপতির লেখক যিনি সৈন্যদলে লোক সংগ্রহ করতেন তাঁকে এবং যারা শহরের মধ্যে ছিলেন তাদের মধ্যে আরও ষাটজন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ লোককেও ধরলেন।
20 And Nebuzar-adan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah:
২০রক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি নবূষরদন তাদের সবাইকে রিব্লাতে বাবিলের রাজার কাছে বন্দী করে নিয়ে গেলেন।
21 And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.
২১বাবিলের রাজা হমাৎ দেশের রিব্লাতে এই সব লোকদের হত্যা করলেন। এই ভাবে যিহূদার লোকদের বন্দী করে নিজের দেশ থেকে নিয়ে যাওয়া হল।
22 And [as for] the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.
২২বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদ্নিৎসর যে সব লোকদের যিহূদা দেশে অবশিষ্ট রেখে গিয়েছিলেন তাদের উপরে তিনি শাফনের নাতি, অর্থাৎ অহীকামের ছেলে গদলিয়কে শাসনকর্ত্তা হিসাবে নিযুক্ত করলেন।
23 And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of Maachathite, they and their men.
২৩বাবিলের রাজা গদলিয়কে শাসনকর্ত্তা করে নিযুক্ত করেছেন শুনে যিহূদার কিছু সেনাপতি ও তাঁদের লোকেরা, অর্থাৎ এই লোকেরা ছিল নথনিয়ের ছেলে ইশ্মায়েল, কারেহের ছেলে যোহানন, নটোফাতীয় তন্হূমতের ছেলে সরায় ও মাখাথীয়ের ছেলে যাসনিয় এবং তাদের লোকেরা মিসপাতে গদলিয়ের কাছে আসলেন।
24 And Gedaliah swore to them, and to their men, and said to them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.
২৪গদলিয় তাদের কাছে এবং তাদের লোকদের কাছে এক শপথ করলেন এবং তাদের বললেন, “আপনারা কলদীয় দাসেদের ভয় করবেন না। আপনারা দেশে বাস করুন এবং বাবিলের রাজার সেবা করুন, তাতে আপনাদের মঙ্গল হবে।”
25 But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.
২৫কিন্তু সাত মাসের দিনের ইলীশামার নাতি, অর্থাৎ নথনিয়ের ছেলে রাজবংশীয় ইশ্মায়েল দশ জন লোক সঙ্গে করে নিয়ে এসে গদলিয়কে আক্রমণ করলেন। যিহূদার যে সব লোকেরা ও বাবিলীয়েরা মিসপাতে তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিল তাদের সবার সঙ্গে গদলিয়কে হত্যা করলেন।
26 And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees.
২৬তখন ছোট বড় সব লোক ও সেনাপতিরা উঠে মিশরে চলে গেল। কারণ তারা বাবিলীয়দের ভয় পেয়েছিল।
27 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth [day] of the month, [that] Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;
২৭পরে যিহূদার রাজা যিহোয়াখীনের বন্দীত্বের সাঁইত্রিশ বছরের দিন ইবিল মরোদক বাবিলের রাজা হলেন। যে বছরে তিনি রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেছিলেন সেই বছরের বারোতম মাসের সাতাশ দিনের র দিন যিহোয়াখীনকে জেলখানা থেকে ছেড়ে দিলেন।
28 And he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that [were] with him in Babylon;
২৮তিনি যিহোয়াখীনের সঙ্গে আন্তরিকভাবে কথা বললেন এবং বাবিলে তাঁর সঙ্গে আর যে সব রাজারা ছিলেন তাঁদের সকলের আসন থেকেও তাঁকে আরও সম্মানের আসন দিলেন।
29 And changed his prison garments: and he ate bread continually before him all the days of his life.
২৯ইবিল মরোদক যিহোয়াখীনের জেলখানার পোষাক খুলে দিলেন এবং জীবনের বাকি দিন গুলো নিয়মিতভাবে রাজার সঙ্গে একই টেবিলে খাওয়া দাওয়া করে কাটিয়ে দিলেন।
30 And his allowance [was] a continual allowance given him by the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.
৩০তাঁর অবশিষ্ট সমস্ত জীবন ধরে রাজা নিয়মিতভাবে তাঁকে প্রতিদিনের র জন্য একটা ভাতা দিতেন ও উপযুক্ত জিনিসপত্র দিতেন।
