2 Kings 15

1 In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

Im siebenundzwanzigsten Regierungsjahr Jerobeams, des Königs von Israel, wurde Asarja König, der Sohn des Königs Amazja von Juda.

2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name [was] Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

Im Alter von sechzehn Jahren bestieg er den Thron, und zweiundfünfzig Jahre regierte er in Jerusalem; seine Mutter hieß Jecholja und stammte aus Jerusalem.

3 And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;

Er tat, was dem HERRN wohlgefiel, ganz so wie sein Vater Amazja getan hatte;

4 Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.

jedoch der Höhendienst wurde nicht abgeschafft, das Volk brachte immer noch Schlacht- und Rauchopfer auf den Höhen dar.

5 And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son [was] over the house, judging the people of the land.

Der HERR aber suchte den König schwer heim, daß er bis zu seinem Todestage am Aussatz litt und in einem Hause abgesondert für sich wohnte. Jotham aber, der Sohn des Königs, waltete im königlichen Hause (oder Palaste) als Familienhaupt und versah die Regierungsgeschäfte für das Land. –

6 And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Die übrige Geschichte Asarjas aber und alles, was er unternommen hat, findet sich bekanntlich aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Juda.

7 So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

Als Asarja sich dann zu seinen Vätern gelegt und man ihn bei seinen Vätern in der Davidsstadt begraben hatte, folgte ihm sein Sohn Jotham in der Regierung nach.

8 In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.

Im achtunddreißigsten Regierungsjahre des Königs Asarja von Juda wurde Sacharja, der Sohn Jerobeams, König über Israel in Samaria und regierte ein halbes Jahr.

9 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

Er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel, so wie seine Väter getan hatten; er ließ nicht ab von den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel zur Sünde verführt hatte.

10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

Da zettelte Sallum, der Sohn des Jabes, eine Verschwörung gegen ihn an, ermordete ihn in Jibleam und trat als König an seine Stelle.

11 And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

Die übrige Geschichte Sacharjas aber findet sich bereits aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Israel.

12 This [was] the word of the LORD which he spoke to Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth [generation]. And so it came to pass.

So erfüllte sich die Verheißung, die der HERR dem Jehu gegeben hatte mit den Worten: »Es sollen Nachkommen von dir bis ins vierte Glied auf dem Thron von Israel sitzen.« So ist es auch geschehen.

13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

Sallum, der Sohn des Jabes, wurde König im neununddreißigsten Regierungsjahre des Königs Ussia von Juda und regierte einen Monat lang zu Samaria.

14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

Da zog Menahem, der Sohn Gadis, aus Thirza gegen ihn heran, drang in Samaria ein, brachte Sallum, den Sohn des Jabes, in Samaria ums Leben und trat als König an seine Stelle.

15 And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

Die übrige Geschichte Sallums aber und die Verschwörung, die er angezettelt hatte, das findet sich bereits aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Israel.

16 Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that [were] in it, and the borders of it from Tirzah: because they opened not [to him], therefore he smote [it]; [and] all the women in it that were with child he ripped up.

Damals verwüstete Menahem die Stadt Thappuah und alles, was darin war, sowie ihr ganzes Gebiet von Thirza an; weil man ihm die Tore nicht geöffnet hatte, verwüstete er es und ließ allen Frauen dort, die guter Hoffnung waren, den Leib aufschlitzen.

17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, [and reigned] ten years in Samaria.

Im neununddreißigsten Regierungsjahre des Königs Asarja von Juda wurde Menahem, der Sohn Gadis, König über Israel und regierte zehn Jahre in Samaria.

18 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel; er ließ nicht ab von den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel zur Sünde verführt hatte. Unter seiner Regierung

19 [And] Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

fiel der assyrische König Phul in das Land ein, und Menahem gab dem Phul tausend Talente Silber, damit er ihm Beistand gewähre, um ihn im Besitz des Königtums zu sichern.

20 And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, [even] of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

Das Geld ließ Menahem dann von den Israeliten aufbringen, nämlich von allen wohlhabenden Leuten, um dem König von Assyrien Zahlung leisten zu können; fünfzig Schekel Silber kamen auf jeden Mann. Da zog der König von Assyrien wieder ab und blieb nicht länger dort im Lande. –

21 And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

22 And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

Als Menahem sich dann zu seinen Vätern gelegt hatte, folgte ihm sein Sohn Pekahja in der Regierung nach.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] two years.

Im fünfzigsten Regierungsjahre des Königs Asarja von Juda wurde Pekahja, der Sohn Menahems, König über Israel in Samaria und regierte zwei Jahre.

24 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

Er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel; er ließ nicht ab von den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel zur Sünde verführt hatte.

25 But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.

Da zettelte sein Ritter Pekah, der Sohn Remaljas, eine Verschwörung gegen ihn an und ermordete ihn zu Samaria in der Burg des königlichen Palastes [zugleich auch den Argob und den Arje], zur Seite standen ihm dabei fünfzig Mann von den Gileaditern. Nachdem er ihn getötet hatte, folgte er ihm als König in der Regierung nach. –

26 And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

27 In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] twenty years.

Im zweiundfünfzigsten Regierungsjahre des Königs Asarja von Juda wurde Pekah, der Sohn Remaljas, König über Israel in Samaria und regierte zwanzig Jahre.

28 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

Er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel; er ließ nicht ab von den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel zur Sünde verführt hatte.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

Unter der Regierung Pekahs, des Königs von Israel, zog Thiglath-Pileser, der König von Assyrien, heran und eroberte Ijjon, Abel-Beth-Maacha, Janoah, Kedes und Hazor, Gilead und Galiläa, das ganze Land Naphthali, und führte die Bewohner in die Gefangenschaft nach Assyrien.

30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

Da zettelte Hosea, der Sohn Elas, eine Verschwörung gegen Pekah, den Sohn Remaljas an, brachte ihn ums Leben und trat dann als König an seine Stelle im zwanzigsten Regierungsjahre Jothams, des Sohnes Ussias. –

31 And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

Die übrige Geschichte Pekahs aber und alles, was er unternommen hat, das findet sich bereits aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Israel.

32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel, began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

Im zweiten Regierungsjahre Pekahs, des Sohnes des Königs Remalja von Israel, wurde Jotham, der Sohn Ussias, König über Juda.

33 Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name [was] Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.

Im Alter von fünfundzwanzig Jahren wurde er König, und sechzehn Jahre regierte er in Jerusalem; seine Mutter hieß Jerusa und war eine Tochter Zadoks.

34 And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

Er tat, was dem HERRN wohlgefiel, ganz wie sein Vater Ussia getan hatte;

35 Yet, the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.

jedoch der Höhendienst wurde nicht abgeschafft; das Volk brachte immer noch Schlacht- und Rauchopfer auf den Höhen dar. Er baute das obere Tor am Tempel des HERRN.

36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Die übrige Geschichte Jothams aber und alles, was er unternommen hat, das findet sich bekanntlich aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Juda.

37 In those days the LORD began to send against Judah, Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

Zu jener Zeit begann der HERR den König Rezin von Syrien und Pekah, den Sohn Remaljas, gegen Juda vorgehen zu lassen.

38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: And Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

Als Jotham sich dann zu seinen Vätern gelegt und man ihn bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt seines Ahnherrn David begraben hatte, folgte ihm sein Sohn Ahas als König in der Regierung nach.
