2 Chronicles 28
1 Ahaz [was] twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, like David his father:
De veinte años era Acaz cuando comenzó a reinar, y dieciséis años reinó en Jerusalén; mas no hizo lo recto en ojos del SEÑOR, como David su padre.
2 For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim.
Antes anduvo en los caminos de los reyes de Israel, y además hizo imágenes de fundición a los Baales.
3 Moreover, he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
Quemó también incienso en el valle de los hijos de Hinom, y quemó sus hijos por fuego, conforme a las abominaciones de los gentiles que el SEÑOR había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.
4 He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
Asimismo sacrificó y quemó incienso en los altos, y en los collados, y debajo de todo árbol espeso.
5 Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought [them] to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.
Por lo cual el SEÑOR su Dios lo entregó en manos del rey de los sirios, los cuales le derrotaron, y cogieron de él una grande presa, que llevaron a Damasco. Fue también entregado en manos del rey de Israel, el cual lo hirió con gran mortandad.
6 For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day, [who were] all valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers.
Porque Peca, hijo de Remalías mató en Judá en un día ciento veinte mil, todos hombres valientes; por cuanto habían dejado al SEÑOR Dios de sus padres.
7 And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the governor of the house, and Elkanah [that was] next to the king.
Asimismo Zicri, hombre poderoso de Efraín, mató a Maasías hijo del rey, y a Azricam su mayordomo, y a Elcana, segundo después del rey.
8 And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and also took away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.
Tomaron también cautivos los hijos de Israel de sus hermanos doscientos mil, mujeres, muchachos, y muchachas, a más de haber saqueado de ellos un gran despojo, el cual trajeron a Samaria.
9 But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name [was] Oded: and he went out before the army that came to Samaria, and said to them, Behold, because the LORD God of your fathers was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage [that] reacheth to heaven.
Había entonces allí un profeta del SEÑOR, que se llamaba Obed, el cual salió delante del ejército cuando entraba en Samaria, y les dijo: He aquí el SEÑOR Dios de vuestros padres, por el enojo contra Judá, los ha entregado en vuestras manos; y vosotros los habéis muerto con ira. Hasta el cielo ha llegado ésto.
10 And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bond-men and bond-women to you: [but are there] not with you, even with you, sins against the LORD your God?
Y ahora habéis determinado sujetar a vosotros a Judá y a Jerusalén por siervos y siervas; mas ¿no habéis vosotros pecado contra el SEÑOR vuestro Dios?
11 Now hear me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the LORD [is] upon you.
Oídme, pues, ahora, y volved a enviar los cautivos que habéis tomado de vuestros hermanos; porque el SEÑOR está airado contra vosotros.
12 Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from the war.
Entonces se levantaron algunos varones de los principales de los hijos de Efraín, Azarías hijo de Johanán, y Berequías hijo de Mesilemot, y Ezequías hijo de Salum, y Amasa hijo de Hadlai, contra los que venían de la guerra.
13 And said to them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for whereas we have offended against the LORD [already], ye intend to add [more] to our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass [is] great, and [there is] fierce wrath against Israel.
Y les dijeron: No metáis acá la cautividad; porque el pecado contra el SEÑOR será sobre nosotros. Vosotros tratáis de añadir sobre nuestros pecados y sobre nuestras culpas, siendo asaz grande nuestro delito, y la ira del furor sobre Israel.
14 So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the congregation.
Entonces el ejército dejó los cautivos y la presa delante de los príncipes y de toda la multitud.
15 And the men who were expressed by name arose, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brethren: then they returned to Samaria.
Y se levantaron los varones nombrados, y tomaron los cautivos, y vistieron del despojo a los que de ellos estaban desnudos; los vistieron y los calzaron, y les dieron de comer y de beber, y los ungieron, y condujeron en asnos a todos los flacos, y los llevaron hasta Jericó, la ciudad de las palmas, cerca de sus hermanos; y ellos se volvieron a Samaria.
16 At that time king Ahaz sent to the kings of Assyria to help him.
En aquel tiempo envió a pedir el rey Acaz a los reyes de Asiria que le ayudasen.
17 For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives.
Porque a más de esto, los idumeos habían venido y herido a los de Judá, y habían llevado cautivos.
18 The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, and Ajalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho with its villages, and Timnah with its villages, Gimzo also and its villages: and they dwelt there.
Asimismo los filisteos se habían derramado por las ciudades de la llanura, y al mediodía de Judá, y habían tomado a Bet-semes, a Ajalón, Gederot, y Soco con sus aldeas, Timna también con sus aldeas, y Gimzo con sus aldeas; y habitaban en ellas.
19 For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel: for he made Judah naked, and greatly transgressed against the LORD.
Porque el SEÑOR había humillado a Judá por causa de Acaz rey de Israel; por cuanto él había desnudado a Judá, y había rebelado gravemente contra el SEÑOR.
20 And Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria came to him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not.
Y vino contra él Tilgat-pileser, rey de los Asirios; pues lo redujo a estrechez, y no lo fortificó.
21 For Ahaz took away a portion from the house of the LORD, and from the house of the king, and of the princes, and gave [it] to the king of Assyria: but he helped him not.
Aunque despojó Acaz la Casa del SEÑOR, y la casa real, y las de los príncipes, para dar al rey de los asirios, con todo eso él no le ayudó.
22 And in the time of his distress he trespassed yet more against the LORD: this [is that] king Ahaz.
Además el rey Acaz en el tiempo que aquél le apuraba, añadió prevaricación contra el SEÑOR;
23 For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, [therefore] will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.
porque sacrificó a los dioses de Damasco que le habían herido, y dijo: Pues que los dioses de los reyes de Siria les ayudan, yo también sacrificaré a ellos para que me ayuden; habiendo sido éstos su ruina, y la de todo Israel.
24 And Ahaz collected the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the LORD, and he made for himself altars in every corner of Jerusalem.
A más de eso recogió Acaz los vasos de la Casa de Dios, y los quebró, y cerró las puertas de la Casa del SEÑOR, y se hizo altares en Jerusalén en todos los rincones.
25 And in every several city of Judah he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked to anger the LORD God of his fathers.
Hizo también altos en todas las ciudades de Judá, para quemar incienso a los dioses ajenos, provocando a ira al SEÑOR Dios de sus padres.
26 Now the rest of his acts and of all his ways, first and last, behold, they [are] written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
Lo demás de sus hechos, y todos sus caminos, primeros y postreros, he aquí ello está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Judá y de Israel.
27 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, [even] in Jerusalem: but they brought him not into the sepulchers of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
Y durmió Acaz con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de Jerusalén; mas no le metieron en los sepulcros de los reyes de Israel; y reinó en su lugar Ezequías su hijo.
