2 Chronicles 27
1 Jotham [was] twenty and five years old when he began to reign and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also [was] Jerushah, the daughter of Zadok.
Jonatham avait vingt-cinq ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem; le nom de sa mère était Jérusa, fille de Sadoc.
2 And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah did: yet, he entered not into the temple of the LORD. And the people did yet corruptly.
Et il fit ce qui était droit devant le Seigneur, selon tout ce qu’avait fait Ozias, son père, excepté qu’il n’entra point dans le temple du Seigneur; mais le peuple péchait encore.
3 He built the high gate of the house of the LORD, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.
Ce fut lui qui bâtit la grande porte de la maison du Seigneur, et sur le mur d’Ophel il fit beaucoup de constructions.
4 Moreover, he built cities in the mountains of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.
Il bâtit aussi des villes sur les montagnes de Juda, et, dans les bois, des châteaux et des tours.
5 He fought also with the king of the Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of Ammon gave him the same year a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of Ammon pay to him, both the second year, and the third.
Ce fut lui qui combattit contre le roi des enfants d’Ammon, et il les vainquit; et les enfants d’Ammon lui donnèrent en ce temps-là cent talents d’argent, dix mille cors de froment et autant d’orge: c’est là ce que lui donnèrent les enfants d’Ammon en l’année seconde et troisième.
6 So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God.
Et Joatham s’affermit, parce qu’il avait dirigé ses voies devant le Seigneur son Dieu.
7 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, see, they [are] written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
Mais si le reste des actions de Joatham, tous ses combats, et ses œuvres sont écrits dans le Livre des rois d’Israël et de Juda.
8 He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.
Il avait vingt-cinq ans, lorsqu’il commença à régner, et il régna seize ans dans Jérusalem.
9 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
Et Joatham dormit avec ses pères, et on l’ensevelit dans la cité de David, et Achaz, son fils, régna en sa place.
