2 Chronicles 20
1 It came to pass after this also, [that] the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them [others] besides the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
೧ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರೂ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೆಗೂನ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರೂ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side of Syria; and behold, they [are] in Hazazon-tamar, which [is] En-gedi.
೨ದೂತರು ಬಂದು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನಿಗೆ, “ಮಹಾಸಮೂಹವು ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಲವಣ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಆಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅರಾಮ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಈಗ ‘ಏಂಗೆದಿ’ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಚಚೋನ್ ತಾಮಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ತಂಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
೩ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಹೆದರಿ, ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನೇ ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಉಪವಾಸ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದನು.
4 And Judah assembled, to ask [help] of the LORD: even from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
೪ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸಹಾಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಆತನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿ ಬಂದರು.
5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
೫ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಹೊಸ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಭೆಯಾಗಿ ನೆರೆದು ಬಂದಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಅದರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತು,
6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, [art] not thou God in heaven? and rulest thou [not] over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thy hand [is there not] power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
೬“ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರೇ, ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಾಗಿ ಇರುವಾತನು ನೀನಲ್ಲವೋ? ನೀನು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಆಳುವವನಾಗಿರುವೆ. ಬಲ, ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ: ನಿನ್ನೆದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವವರು ಯಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ?
7 [Art] not thou our God, [who] didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and give it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
೭ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಈ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸಿ, ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಸಂತಾನದವರಿಗೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಸ್ವತ್ತಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವೆಯಲ್ಲಾ?
8 And they dwelt in it, and have built thee a sanctuary in it for thy name, saying,
೮ಅವರು ಈ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲಗೊಂಡು ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿಗಾಗಿ ಪವಿತ್ರಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದರು.
9 If, [when] evil cometh upon us, [as] the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name [is] in this house, ) and cry to thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
೯ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ತೀರ್ಪಿನ ಖಡ್ಗ, ಘೋರವ್ಯಾಧಿ, ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಆಪತ್ತುಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ಬರುವಾಗ, ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮ ಮಹತ್ತು ಇರುವ ಈ ಆಲಯದ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ನಿಂತು, ನಮ್ಮ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವುದಾದರೆ ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವಿ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldst not let Israel invade, when they came from the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
೧೦ಈ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಸೇಯೀರ್ ಪರ್ವತ ಪ್ರದೇಶದವರನ್ನೂ ನೋಡು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಇವರ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನುಗ್ಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಹೊಂದಿ, ಇವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸದೆ ಬೇರೆ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೋದರಲ್ಲಾ.
11 Behold, [I say], [how] they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
೧೧ಈಗ ಅವರು ಉಪಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಕಾರಮಾಡಿ, ನೀನು ನಮಗೆ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ ಸ್ವತ್ತಿನೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೊರ ಓಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes [are] upon thee.
೧೨ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರೇ, ಅವರನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸದೆ ಬಿಡುವಿಯೋ? ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಈ ಮಹಾಸಮೂಹದ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲವಿಲ್ಲ; ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂಬುದೂ ತಿಳಿಯದು; ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೇ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿವೆ” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.
13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
೧೩ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಅವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು.
14 Then upon Jehaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
೧೪ಆಗ ಆ ಸಮೂಹದೊಳಗೆ ಆಸಾಫನ ವಂಶದವನಾದ ಲೇವಿಯನೂ, ಮತ್ತನ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಯೆಗೀಯೇಲನ ಮರಿಮಗನೂ, ಬೆನಾಯನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಜೆಕರ್ಯನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಯಹಜೀಯೇಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಬಂದಿತು.
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD to you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle [is] not yours, but God's.
೧೫ಅವನು, “ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೇ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರೇ, ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನೇ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ: ಈ ಮಹಾಸಮೂಹದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಕಳವಳಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯುದ್ಧವು ನಿಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲ; ದೇವರದೇ.
16 To-morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
೧೬ನಾಳೆ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಡಿರಿ; ಇಗೋ ಅವರು ಹಚ್ಚೀಚ್ ಗಟ್ಟದ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಯೆರೂವೇಲ್ ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಮುಂದಿರುವ ಕಣಿವೆಯ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸುವಿರಿ.
17 Ye shall not [need] to fight in this [battle]: set yourselves, stand ye [still], and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to-morrow go out against them: for the LORD [will be] with you.
೧೭ಈ ಸಮೂಹದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದು ಅವಶ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೇ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರೇ, ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡುವ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿರಿ; ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಕಳವಳಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನಾಳೆ ಅವರೆದುರಿಗೆ ಹೊರಡಿರಿ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with [his] face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshiping the LORD.
೧೮ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ನೆಲದವರೆಗೂ ಬಗ್ಗಿ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದನು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದರು.
19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
೧೯ಆಮೇಲೆ ಲೇವಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಹಾತ್ಯರೂ, ಕೋರಹಿಯರೂ ಎದ್ದು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಮಹಾಸ್ವರದಿಂದ ಕೀರ್ತಿಸಿದರು.
20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
೨೦ಅವರು ಮರುದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಎದ್ದು ತೆಕೋವ ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟರು. ಹೊರಡುವಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೇ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡಿರಿ, ಆಗ ನೀವು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತರಾಗಿರುವಿರಿ; ಆತನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಂಬಿರಿ, ಆಗ ನೀವು ಸಫಲರಾಗುವಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers to the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy [endureth] for ever.
೨೧ಆ ನಂತರ ಅವನು ಜನರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿ ಹಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವಸ್ತ್ರ ಅಲಂಕಾರ ಭೂಷಣದೊಡನೆ ಭಟರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ, ‘ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿಮಾಡಿರಿ, ಆತನ ಕೃಪೆಯು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದದ್ದು’ ಎಂದು ಭಜಿಸಿರಿ” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, who were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
೨೨ಅವರು ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ಕೀರ್ತಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರನ್ನೂ, ಸೇಯೀರ್ ಪರ್ವತದವರನ್ನೂ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕುವವರನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು.
23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy [them]: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
೨೩ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರೂ, ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರೂ ಸೇಯೀರ್ ಪರ್ವತದವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ಮೇಲೆ ತಾವೇ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
24 And when Judah came towards the watch-tower in the wilderness, they looked to the multitude, and behold, they [were] dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
೨೪ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿನ ಬುರುಜಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಆ ಸಮೂಹವಿದ್ದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವ ಹೆಣಗಳ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ, ಜೀವದಿಂದುಳಿದವರು ಯಾರು ಕಾಣಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering the spoil, it was so much.
೨೫ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ಸುಲಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ದ್ರವ್ಯ, ವಸ್ತ್ರ, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಾಯುಧಗಳು ರಾಶಿರಾಶಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದವು. ಅವರು ಹೊರಲಾರದಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಿಗೆಮಾಡಿದರು, ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯು ಬಲು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ವರೆಗೂ ಕೂಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place hath been called, The valley of Berachah, to this day.
೨೬ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆರಾಕ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದರು. ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಬೆರಾಕ ತಗ್ಗು ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿದೆ.
27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the front of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
೨೭ಆ ನಂತರ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರೂ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನೂ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಮಗೆ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಜಯವನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಜಯಘೋಷ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿದರು.
28 And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets to the house of the LORD.
೨೮ಅವರು ಸ್ವರಮಂಡಲ, ಕಿನ್ನರಿ, ತುತ್ತೂರಿ, ಇವುಗಳೊಡನೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of [those] countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
೨೯ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಾನೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಶತ್ರುಗಳೊಡನೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನೆಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿಯು ಅನ್ಯದೇಶಗಳ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳವರಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಹುಭೀತರಾದರು.
30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest on all sides.
೩೦ಹೀಗೆ ದೇವರ ಅನುಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ವೈರಿಗಳು ಭಯಭೀತರಾದರು. ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಭಯತಪ್ಪಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.
31 And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: [he was] thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name [was] Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
೩೧ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಮೂವತ್ತೈದು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಇವನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದು ವರ್ಷ ಆಡಳಿತ ನಡೆಸಿದನು. ಶಿಲ್ಹಿಯ ಮಗಳಾದ ಅಜೂಬಳೆಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ.
32 And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD.
೩೨ಇವನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಆಸನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಅದನ್ನು ಮೀರದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನಾಗಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡನು.
33 But the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts to the God of their fathers.
೩೩ಅದರೂ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಟ್ಟಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
34 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they [are] written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who [is] mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.
೩೪ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಉಳಿದ ಪೂರ್ವೋತ್ತರ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜರ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಕವಾಗಿರುವ ಹನಾನೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೇಹುವಿನ ವೃತ್ತಾಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ.
35 And after this Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:
೩೫ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನೂ, ಬಹು ದುರಾಚಾರಿಯೂ ಆದ ಅಹಜ್ಯನೊಡನೆ ಒಡಬಂಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
36 And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Ezion-geber.
೩೬ಅವರು ತಾರ್ಷೀಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹಡುಗುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒಡಬಂಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಯೋನ್ ಗೆಬೆರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದರು.
37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
೩೭ಆಗ ಮಾರೇಷಾ ಊರಿನ ದೋದಾವಾಹುವಿನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲೀಯೆಜರನು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ, “ನೀನು ಅಹಜ್ಯನೊಡನೆ ಒಡಬಂಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುವನು” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದನು. ಆ ಹಡುಗುಗಳು ಒಡೆದು ಹೋದುದರಿಂದ ತಾರ್ಷೀಷಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
