1 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians [which is] in God the Father, and [in] the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace [be] to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pablo, Silvano y Timoteo, a la asamblea de los tesalonicenses en Dios Padre y en el Señor Jesucristo: Gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

Damos siempre gracias a Dios por todos vosotros, mencionándoos en nuestras oraciones,

3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

recordando sin cesar vuestra obra de fe y trabajo de amor y perseverancia de esperanza en nuestro Señor Jesucristo, ante nuestro Dios y Padre.

4 Knowing, brethren beloved by God, your election.

Sabemos, hermanos amados por Dios, que sois unos elegidos,

5 For our gospel came not to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

y que nuestra Buena Noticia os llegó no sólo de palabra, sino también con poder, y con el Espíritu Santo y con mucha seguridad. Sabéis qué clase de hombres nos mostramos entre vosotros por vuestro bien.

6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit:

Os convertisteis en imitadores de nosotros y del Señor, habiendo recibido la palabra en medio de mucha aflicción, con alegría del Espíritu Santo,

7 So that ye were examples to all that believe, in Macedonia and Achaia.

de modo que llegasteis a ser un ejemplo para todos los que creen en Macedonia y en Acaya.

8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

Porque de vosotros se ha proclamado la palabra del Señor, no sólo en Macedonia y Acaya, sino también en todos los lugares donde ha salido vuestra fe hacia Dios, de modo que no tenemos necesidad de decir nada.

9 For they themselves show of us what manner of entrance we had to you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God;

Porque ellos mismos informan acerca de nosotros de la acogida que hemos tenido por parte de vosotros, y de cómo os habéis convertido de los ídolos a Dios para servir a un Dios vivo y verdadero,

10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come.

y para esperar a su Hijo del cielo, al que ha resucitado de entre los muertos: Jesús, que nos libra de la ira venidera.
