< 1 Thessalonians 2 >

1 For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance to you, that it was not in vain:
Hmaunawnghanaw, nangmouh koe ka tho awh e hah, ayawmyin lah awm hoeh tie namamouh ni na panue awh.
2 But even after we had suffered before, and were shamefully treated, as ye know, at Phillippi, we were bold in our God to speak to you the gospel of God with much contention.
Nangmouh ni na panue awh e patetlah kaimanaw teh, Filippi khovah rucatnae hoi rektapnae hmaloe ka khang awh hnukkhu, Cathut kângue laihoi kâtuknae kalen kâhmo awh teh, Cathut e kamthang kahawi hah nangmouh hanlah taranhawi laihoi ka pâpho awh.
3 For our exhortation [was] not from deceit, nor from impurity, nor in guile;
4 But as we were allowed by God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who trieth our hearts.
5 For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God [is] witness:
Bangtelamaw tetpawiteh, nangmouh ni na panue awh e patetlah nangmouh pasawtpanepnae lawk buet touh boehai ka dei awh hoeh. Hounlounnae lahoi kâsaknae hai awm hoeh tie teh Cathut nihai a kampangkhai.
6 Nor from men sought we glory, neither from you, nor [yet] from others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
Hot hloilah, Khrih e guncei lah ka o teh, nangmouh hnokari na phu sak thai awh ei, tami ni poe e bawilennae hah nangmouh koe ka tawng awh hoeh, alouknaw koehai ka tawng awh hoeh.
7 But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
A manu ni a ca a khetyawt e patetlah nangmouh koe lungnemnae lahoi na khetyawt awh.
8 So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted to you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear to us.
Kaimouh ni nangmouh lung na pataw dawkvah, Cathut e kamthang kahawi dueng tho laipalah, kamamae hringnae totouh pasoung hanelah nangmouh koe lungthonae ka tawn awh.
9 For ye remember, brethren, our labor and toil: for laboring night and day, because we would not be chargeable to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.
10 Ye [are] witnesses, and God [also], how holily, and justly, and unblamably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
Nangmouh kayuemnaw rahak ka o awh navah, thoungnae hoi lannae dawk toun hoeh e lah ka o awh e hah nangmouh hoi Cathut teh kapanuekkhaikung lah a o.
11 As ye know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father [doth] his children,
12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you into his kingdom and glory.
A ram hoi a lentoenae thungvah nangmouh na ka kaw e ni, a ngai e patetlah hring awh nahanelah, pout laipalah, kâhroecoenae lahoi lung na pahawi awh teh, tha na poe awh.
13 For this cause also we thank God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard from us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but (as it is in truth) the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things from your own countrymen, even as they [have] from the Jews:
Bangtelah tetpawiteh, hmaunawnghanaw, Khrih Jisuh thung kaawm niteh, Judah ram kaawm, Cathut e kawhmounnaw hah Judahnaw ni a rektap awh e patetlah nangmouh hai namamae taminaw ni rektapnae na khang awh.
15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
Judahnaw ni Jisuh koehoi a kamtawng awh teh profetnaw a thei awh toe. Maimouh hai na rektap awh toe. Cathut e ngainae hai tarawi awh hoeh. Taminaw puenghoi hai a kâtaran awh toe.
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
Jentelnaw rungngangnae koe pha sak hanelah kaimouh ni pâpho e kamthang lawk hai a ngang awh teh, amamae yonnae teh pou a kuep sak awh toe. Hatdawkvah, Cathut lungkhueknae ni ahnimouh lathueng a bosin awh.
17 But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.
Hmaunawnghanaw kaimouh teh lungthin hoi tho laipalah, tak hoi dawngdengca kamphei awh navah, nangmae minhmai hmu hanlah, na rabui awh teh, kâhmo hanelah hoe ka panki awh.
18 Wherefore we would have come to you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
19 For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? [Are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
Maimae Bawipa Jisuh Khrih bout a tho torei teh, amae hmalah kaimae ngaihawinae, lunghawinae hoi, kâoupnae, bawilukhung lah kaawm hane teh, api nahoeh, nangmouh doeh toe.
20 For ye are our glory and joy.
Nangmouh teh kaimae bawilennae hoi lunghawinae katang lah na o awh.
